I saw one scene, but it wasn’t this one. And also, it was obvious there’d be romance from around episode 9, 16 the latest if you were sleeping while watching.

He's likely not relevant to the story. Not all royal family has to be involved in this plot.

She gradually started regaining memories from episode 1, after she recognized ML's incence satchet's fragrance. She recalled everything around episode 22.
But it really is diffucult when you're just a kid who can't even comprehend what you saw back then, and there were people who didn't allow you to see the most gory moments. Still, that was a huge traumatic experience and shaped FL into who she is. Same with ML.

Yea, the script here is well written and paced. From a cursed lone star to realization that there are so many friends she's made along the way who really care about her and are willing to risk their lives to save her.

Nice guys like ML likely didn't exist back in the day. It was all very practical, mercantile and decided between men who were women's legal guardians. Nobody asked women whether they wanted to marry somebody, especially if a woman was from a rich noble family.
The emperor likely was glad that there's a suitable guy wanting to take off unruly FL off his hands. If he was truly evil though, he would have married her off years ago, but he really did coddle her it seems.

He thought she was playing rebel and faking it. He even asked the eunuch in the end whether her poisoning was real.

Btw, does that actor who plays eunuch Guo often play eunuchs? He's like the epitome eunuch, with artistic pronunciation and all. I just love hearing him pronouncing decrees 🤣.

He did it to save her and also because he likes her. Don't exclude one from the other. And as a married woman she'd have ML's family protection. A woman on her own has little influence.
And that did save her - can't have her dead if you agreed to marry her off, so immediately no guards and everyone's allowed in. And she can get out of that mansion to live with ML's family.

The emperor knows something, but doesn't have any proof, so he chooses to believe the official version. For example, the main bad said that the emperor knows who really sent the troops to the mansion.
In the end it looks like the emperor will allow FL to investigate further.

Am I the only one here thinking consort Shu is a good person who was like a mother to FL?...Even in the last episode she was pestering the emperor non-stop to help FL. You people are just looking for a grey cardinal behind a grey cardinal.
