cdramas used to put breathtakingly gorgeous hand drawn art in their intros, nowadays everything I watch has an ugly ai generated monstrosity slappend in the beginning of it and called a day!!!! Oh god I HATE generative ai so damn much...The pretty animation was one of the most unique things abt costume cdramas and this nasty mf had to take it away from us 🙄
omg this is so interesting could you send the link about the AOS one? i would love to read about it, especially…
IU's looks in Hotel del luna are absolutely iconic! The drama in general isn't perfect and has some messy moments but it's still a very fun watch. And about good costume design in kdramas, I personally think nothing has beat mr sunshine yet. Jeongnyeon's costumes were also designed by the same person and they were amazing ^_^ You can also check out the costumes in historical and fantasy cdramas if you want to see what real glamour and creativity would look like. Till the end of the moon, Love game in Eastern fanatsy, In the name of blossom etc. Old cdramas (90s and 2000s) are even better in terms of styling and costumes!
Crazy how every ml in any old kdrama I watch is a horrible misogynistic piece of shit who isnt even attractive (don't wanna use the U word) yet the most complaints I hear abt old kdramas is that the fls are weak and whiney and dependant and blah blah
what did I just read...she didn't have a problem with her gender expression. That's just who she is and it's totally…
Softening up to the person you're dating and getting comfortable to express your feelings to them doesn't have anything to do with femininity tbh. And my point is that YJ was never really unhappy with being what's traditionally considered "masculine".
The lack of movement might be the director’s style or a requirement for the special effects. There’s pyrotechnics…
TBOY was also directed by the same person and I didn't see sth like this in there. I understand that he put the actors under pressure to act like this as a stylistic choice to capture the dark atmosphere of this drama but I don't really like the outcome.
All the toxic yaoi bait had me thinking of an svsss twist for this story...A viewer who finds this drama an absolute doo doo pile transmigrates into the fl's brother's body (the scumbag villain) and is slowly hit with the awful reality that the crazy obsessive alpha man of a ml is actually falling in love with him (who abused and tortured him btw) instead of the girl 😭
may god have already put a delicate and androgynous pretty boy who isn't in war with himself about stupid gender roles somewhere in the universe, waiting for me to find him 🙌
TBOY is still the best tbh. Like yeah this is fancier and darker and edgier but the budget kind of replaced the heart and the acting is very awkward 😭 litterally every single actor in this show stands super stiffly in front of the camera and recites their dialogues like a robot and I feel like the director just told them to do that so that they'd look their hottest in douyin edits. It started bothering me so much after a couple of episodes bc it looks like every actor is in PAIN trying not to move their face and body at all. And btw where did the insane chemistry between pxr and zsa come from?? Like I genuinely lost my mind watching their 5 minutes of screentime tgt 🗣
Glad cdrama fans are finally starting to clock the fact that whd has too much fragile male ego and his fanbase consists of a LOT of unhinged woman haters. You'd get grounded by his fans if you said this like 5 months ago. I hope we get to openly call out the many other male liuliangs in the industry who are exactly like him 👋🏻

And abt this drama, the styling and costume design is just boring 😭 I agree that the queen's wardrobe probably has the only good pieces of clothing in this show but everything else is so tired it drives me crazy. HJ is such an ostentatious and attention loving character and litterally everything she wears is the most common "quiet luxury" trending outfits in sk right now. It's kind of shocking as well to see color analysis obsessed korea make such poor color choices for iu who looks the best in vibrant colors and dress her in dead pastel colors and nudes and beiges that wash her out 90% of the time!! Like even her supposedly "big" princess gown was nude💀 They kept presenting her outfits as if they were shockingly over the top and gorgeous but she was wearing like a boring red suit or whatever lmao. I've seen so many ppl say IU looks too cute for this kind of a char and that she can't pull it off but I firmly believe it's an styling issue! We all know iu CAN pull off a diva and she has done it in a way that can't be ourdone when her hair and clothes are styled accordingly and actually distinguish her from the real life IU!! (yes I'm talking about hotel de luna) And about the hanbok inspired modern clothing?? Just dissapointing. They tried with the palace uniforms and the prince's outfits but despite the many possibilities and all the room for creativity, it just didn't land and ended up being the boring minimalist train wreck that has plagued global fashion right now. And tbh I really believe fashion would have taken a very different route in sk if monarchy existed and if the royal family made as much influence on popular culture as this show indicates! So I wouldn't really imagine the fashion trends in the extension of joseon dynasty to look exactly like what we see in sk right now! To make it short, the lack of creativity is dissapointing. As I said you can look up the art in goongs' manhwa or even the princess hours drama and see how creative one can be if they take traditional elements and combine them with modern fashion to make stellar pieces. With their budget, they could even rent a miss sohee gown and have one of the characters wear it in the ball since she also designs breathtaking couture inspired by hanbok and traditional korean art but they just lost the opportunity...
