I find it hilarious that people are still hating on the fl in ADWAD after a year. Litterally everytime there's a mention of lyt or a transmigration drama anywhere a bunch of people pop up out of nowhere talking abt how much sym sucked. She's going into my never-ending list of "Can female characters fvcking EXIST without people hating on them for no reason at all?" for case study fs.
I keep thinking upon rewatching the show and all she did that bothered ppl so much was being smart in a fun relatable and full of joy and whimsy and nonchalant way...But apparently all the gears working in her brain the entire time went unnoticed by ppl bc the ONLY way a woman can be smart is when she has a stick up her ass 24/7, a sword in her hand and thoughts of a bloody revenge in her head all the time 🤡

So many creators and readers/drama watchers equate trauma to being an asshole and I have a HUGE problem with this. Is the only way to make characters specially male chars "complex" making them pieces of shit who treat everybody like trash and get away with it bc they have mommy issues? Traumas and psychological problems are unfortunate things that happen to ppl without them having a choice in it but you ALWAYS have a choice in the way you treat people. Trauma is never gonna be an excuse for being a shit person lol....and tbh it's just way more realistic for trauma to show subtly instead of how juvenile authors and scriptwriters show it in dramas and novels!! Being traumatized is going about your normal life and laughing everything off then coming home and having a mental breakdown alone in your room, not being an emotionally unintelligent idiot who's rude to everyone lmao
I saw ppl saying drama lxx's trauma is not flashed out in the drama bc he is "too green" and I'm genuinely like??? How can you really not see his emotional vulnerability in the show? It's so obvious from every interaction he makes with the rest of the chars and every event in the story purposefully uses the chance to tell you this. Do male characters always have to be jerks with unacceptable amounts of toxic masculinity in them for you to accept that they're traumatised? lol
Also yeah, it's just misogynistic double standards. They don't like to hear it but it's the truth. It's a plague I've been witnessing in the drama and book community across the entire world for YEARS and it drives me crazy but I can't do anything abt it. MDL is a specifically awful place for actresses and female characters lmao
