YUP!!
you might not believe it but most young idol actors in fact can't speak the standard mandarin dialect well enough 😭 china is super huge and the variety in the dialects and accents is way crazier than you think and unfortunately, the younger generation of idol actors (poat 90s born) is very reluctant to put time and effort into practicing and taking classes to improve their diction and line delivery.

I have to say though why is it that music shows and movies are always abt pianists and violinists? I want to watch a drama where the main chars play the bassoon or french horn or something like that lol
I really liked the fact that the fl in Let me hear your song was a percussionist but unfortunately show was more abt crazy makjang-ish bs than music 😭

As a classical musician I'm always soooo excited to see these dramas but also very, very worried bc for like 80% of the time they're so stupid and inaccurate they make me physically cringe 😭 we'll see how this one will go. I'm eying the violist character in particular (since violin is my instrument) and I hope they actually trained gyuri to at least hold the instrument and the bow correctly!

YUP!!
well the main target audience for cdramas are obviously Chinese people and I understand them bc I would also not really want to watch a drama in my native language where every actor speaks with a different accent that's totally distracting and incomprehensible to me lol

you're litterally right. The people on this website have worms for brains. If the author comes forward and calls all black people the n word himself and says feminists should all die and get slapped, they'll still excuse it bc they'd rather explode than accept a drama they like is problematic :)))

The ratio is genuinely driving me crazy bc how tf is op exactly "100% wrong"??? Don't you find a problem with the brain of an author who depicts poc and feminists as unrealistically and cartoonishly evil bullies? Are mdl users genuinely this shallow and incapable of nuanced thinking??? Litterally what feminist in the world does that???

why are koreans so unnecessarily hypercritical over these fictional kdramas? first, it's the "unrealistic"…
so It's hypocritical to talk politics around a very political drama now🤡

Repeating the same things. You don't follow anything about sk beyond kdramas so how do you know nobody protests against these things??? They don't "show their true colors only for fictional stories", you're seeing them talk abt this topic just now bc the only thing abt sk you keep up with is the ent content. Since I'm slow and ure a genuis how do you not know dramas and movies being made with social commentary and political critique in them are actually a form of protesting and fighting the system?

So JJ wasn't CULTURALLY cancelled in the country. Thank you for clarifying it yourself ^_^
The webtoon was misogynistic and radical feminists are not evil. Period.

It's genuinely concerning that kpop stans and kdrama fans get a free pass to talk about normal korean ppl who…
"They only start caring whenever my favourite drama airs and not when bad things happen in their society 😤"
That's quite litterally not true. You're seeing this now bc the only korea related thing you follow is whatever that's about the entertainment content you consume. You just don't FOLLOW the news to see when and where and who/what against and how often korean ppl protest so you have no right to be saying this bs.
Korea is pretty much like any other country in the world where people protest and go on strikes and voice out complaints and criticism and fight tooth and nail against the system and demand their rights all the damn time. In fact if you open a history book you'll see these ppl have one of the longest and bloodiest track records of fighting bullies and dictators and defeating them lol
And please, grow tf up
Stop taking every criticism directed towards the dramas you like as an insult to your character and thinking that gives you a pass to talk shit abt the ones that critisized you favorite show. It's incredibly childish and stupid.

It's genuinely concerning that kpop stans and kdrama fans get a free pass to talk about normal korean ppl who aren't their fave celebrities in the vilest, most derogatory ways possible without getting called out for racism.
You guys don't live in sk, you don't follow the news or the politics, you litterally don't know jack shit about the country beyond kdramas and kpop songs and entertainment content so for the love of god, STOP making assumptions and calling these ppl all kinds of names whenever you see them critisize something you like.
Now everybody's harassing korean teachers and saying "they never care about the bullying" as if they ACTUALLY fvcking know that. Do you keep up with all the protests in the entire nation to be shouting this out loud??? Do you genuinely believe you are the only one in the world who fights the system and that korean ppl are dumb idiots who never do that?? You ppl do this shit with korean feminists when they critisize sth in kpop concepts as well and tell them to f off and "care about more important issues" as if you totally know for a fact that they don't.

Korean feminists have been protesting and boycotting men and suffering and getting harassed on daily basis for YEARS now for an idiotic American to come and say they dgaf about misogyny bc they believe everybody who isn't american is dumb and uneducated and a bigot. And where the hell did you exactly get this information that korean teachers have never ever protested against the fvcked up education system in korea??? Do

Juvenile Justice was cancelled because it exposed how rich parents enable their kids and how rigged the system…
JJ wasn't "cancelled". Idk where this misinformation that keeps circling around since yesterday came from. That show litterally won the best script baeksang award, don't you think that wouldn't happen if it was cancelled by koreans??
And the teachers who were against the production of this drama protested bc the original webtoon had a lot of violently misogynistic themes in it. They deleted those parts from the webtoon and didn't include them in the drama bc of the backlash but it doesn't change the fact that the original creator is bigoted weirdo with very questionable views who's getting richer as we speak bc of this drama.
I think international fans need to try and understand where the korean general public comes from whenever they voice out criticism towards certain dramas or kpop related things that could be politically and culturally insensitive. You ppl always jump into conclusions that koreans are all idiots who just want to blindly hate on everything when you don't really know what actually goes on in the country beyond kdramas and some kpop songs 😭
