"Omegaverse is not that deep"

Omegaverse runs deeper than it appears. It's a quicksand. You leap in and realize too late the horrifying depths you’ve been swallowed by

"Some people read so much into every little thing"

Critical thinking or dissecting the media we consume isn't a personality flaw

"Loving Omegaverse does not make you a homophobe"

Willfully ignoring the homophobic elements of omegaverse is homophobic

Omegaverse clings to the belief that for a relationship to be "valid," it should imitate "straight" dynamics. Its mechanics of heat and pregnancy scream, "I'll conceptualize gayness through a straight lens." That’s homophobia in action

Conformity is the currency of public discourse. Stray from the prescribed script, and you're cast as the enemy

I'll clarify that neither Kim Soo Hyun nor any other celebrity holds my admiration, and I support each person's right to share their negative opinions about celebrities. That being said, threatening rape in response to your or someone else’s uncertainty and neutrality is uncivilized and immoral. I apologize on behalf of those who treated you poorly

We've earned the hatred

Humanity’s greatest "talent" isn’t intelligence or innovation, it’s self-delusion. We've perfected the ability to ravage everything in sight. We set fire to our own habitat and build societal systems that exploit the weakest, be they human or otherwise, while writing poems about our so-called "brilliance" and "progress." An outside observer wouldn’t see an intelligent, brilliant species. They’d see a highly advanced virus with shoes

He deserves it why r crying he was selfish individualAlex is the one who needed to survive but 😭
"Being selfish doesn't make a person bad"

It's this quality that's granted us the power to build empires and tear them down with equal fervor, to trample on the rights of the different and marginalized, to start wars, to betray our loved ones, and to take the last cookie in the jar. Our selfish survival has come at the expense of the environment and the welfare of other species

Humans are flawed, selfish creatures with an immense potential for immorality, and that dark potential has sealed our fate as the architects of our own demise

Reading this, you might infer that I hold a negative, pessimistic view of human nature, and you wouldn't be wrong. I hate humans, myself included. However, there's something interesting about Jin Uk, and I wish we had more time to explore his story

"So what if he dated her when she was young"

If "young" means "minor" or "legally underaged," it's a matter of grooming her, stunting her emotional growth, exploiting her lack of life experience, and causing lifelong damage. "Love" is a felony away

"You never know who you get attracted to"

You can control how you act on that attraction. Your response to discovering your attraction to a minor shouldn't be to pursue a relationship with them

"Not like he killed her"

Is that the standard you hold yourselves to? The bar for decency has hit rock bottom

"... isn't an 18 or even a 20 yo with an almost 50 yo man fuvked up too??"

Individuals who are 18 or 20 years old are legally considered adults and can make informed choices about their relationships. As long as both parties involved consent, the relationship isn't immoral. Uncomfortable, yes. Immoral, no. It wouldn't carry the level of harm an adult-minor relationship does

"i don't get why they picked such a messed up work to adapt"

It'd have been wiser for the producers to select a different story for adaptation, I agree

How does anyone still like Seonghyeon after he reciprocated something with a drunk person? Intoxicated people…
There's an old saying that goes, "one person’s trash is another person’s treasure." This drama is a 1/10 trash for you, and a 10/10 museum-worthy masterpiece that tops the weekly watchlist for others. The story makes sense to them, and they have their reasons for enjoying it

You're conflating appreciation with objectification. Appreciating someone's appearance doesn't reduce them to an object. It's possible to admire their beauty while recognizing their humanity

It's okay to sit back and appreciate the eye candy. Enjoying something for its surface-level qualities isn't a crime against you

"And I'm just trying to be a voice of reason in this echo chamber here"
"People have admitted that the drama is confusing"

That’s not the same as assuming everyone else who doesn't agree with you is "brainwashed" and in an echo chamber

Others have been discussing the flaws. What are you adding, besides attitude?

So looks are all that matter? I thought the L in BL stood for "love" but there's been none of that in this series.
Those who see love through rose-colored glasses are more susceptible to staying in unhealthy or abusive relationships. To them, "love is pure." They're unwilling to acknowledge the negative parts of love or their partner's behavior

Recognizing that love can be obsessive, codependent, or destructive doesn’t ruin love, it makes people smarter about it

"This drama is one of the most unrealistic things I've ever seen"

It's not the most outlandish thing out there, there are plenty of other dramas (supernatural, fantasy, etc) that stretch the limits of plausibility to the breaking point

Let's assume that the story is unrealistic. It'd be unreasonable to expect the characters to adhere to real-world morals and laws. They're operating within a fictional setting with its own set of rules and expectations

"Why does it matter when this account was created?"

Someone, out of nowhere and with a brand-new account, starts "calling out the echo chamber." I'd be suspicious and question, are they looking to stir the pot?

"It's weird that you even looked into that"

It’s weird to check publicly available information, and not weird to barge into a comment section to belittle others and act intellectually superior?

A drunk kiss isn't equivalent to assault. The nuances of the situation matter, the level of intoxication, the context, and the relationship between the people. That both of the men have feelings for each other complicates the situation

I wouldn't judge something that happens to me or someone I know more harshly. That’d be admitting to emotional bias

A lapse in judgment is a lapse in judgement, whether I’m watching it unfold or living it. We have courts and not just people yelling, "if it were me, I’d be furious!" for that reason

Why should every story fit within a neat, digestible formula for your comfort?

"... since that doesn't make it okay"
"It shouldn't have been adapted in the first place, really"

That’s how storytelling works. Fiction reflects reality, sometimes the messy, problematic, or uncomfortable parts of it. If we only adapted things that were 100% moral in your opinion, every adaptation would be about tax-paying citizens following the speed limit
