What?! How could they dub Ma Xiao Yu's voice?! I have never watched a vertical drama of his before where his voice has been dubbed. What makes it worse is that all the dubbing for the series is pretty bad. It often doesn't even match the speed of the lip movements, nor does the voice match the age of the actor. One of the mid 20s to early 30s characters has been given the voice of an older man. It's not so much that the voice acting of the VAs is bad (it wasn't great, but not bad either) but just the overall quality of the dubbing is bad.
Update (10 minutes after orginal post was made): I am dropping this series. The sound effects aren't even timed right. For example, ml takes a drink from a bottle of water, but swallowing sound occurs 1.5 seconds before he actually swallows, and all swallow sounds following are out of sinc. This occurs so many times with the timing of sound effects being way off. The sound effects are also abundantly excessive. Way, way too many. Literally a sound effect every two to three seconds, not exagerating. And they are sound effects that you would expect a five-year-old to find amusement in, not even realistic sounding. I can't take it anymore, not even for Ma Xiao Yu. So sorry ππ 152 episodes of this and I would lose my marbles π΅βπ«
Netflix is weird like that. I have a Roku brand TV and have to do an app restart (scroll to the netflix app, hit the * button on the remote, scroll down to Restart App) and once Netflix restarts, only then will the new episodes show up. Simply exiting Netflix and then opening it back up again doesn't work. It has to truly restart/reboot the app π Who knows why
Yes, per the novel, they not only get married, but they also have a child together.
Not sure about that. I only know about some of the things that happened in the novel from reading some of the comments below and some comments that I found after doing a google search about the novel ending.
I'm not crying, you're crying. Who am I kidding, I'm sobbing ππππππππ€§π€§π€§ Never has a vertical drama nade me sob so much. That was such a sad ending, but I knew that it was coming.
Dear new watcher, No, they are not blood-related cousins. ML's mom was fostered by FL's grandparents. The drama…
I feel like the reminder that "THEY ARE NOT R-E-L-A-T-E-D!" has to be said at least three times every day because apparently many people are confusing this as being a J-drama where incest relationships are not totally unheard of in the world of J-dramas. I am pretty sure that China would NEVER do a drama where the main couple are in or will be in an incestual relationship. π€£ππ π π
Spoilers please.1. What episode do they get together.2. Any breakups.3. Any love triangle.4. Is it a happy ending.5.…
1. Officially: Ep. 11, Unofficially, several episodes before then 2. Yes, beginning of episode 31, but reunite at end of 31 (tumultuous enemies-to-lovers phase begins). Unofficially back together by mid to end of 34 (in an "It's complicated" type of relationship) 3. NO, but their is a one-sided annoyance that shows up periodically, especially once they go back to the capital π 4. Yes! 5. Absolutely! Soul mate-level romance 6. Yes!
If it wasn't already obvious, I am a huge fan of this series. I've watched it five times already, and am here in the comment section because I am getting ready to watch it for the sixth time since I found out that there is now a vertical drama remake of it...which is sadly nowhere to be found officially and is only available on Dailymotion unofficially and without subs ππ
Were your subs off during the latter half of episode two? By off I mean delayed while people were speaking. I'm…
I have had that happen before. Usually, if you close the app out and restart the app, that issue will stop unless the issue is caused by a slowed internet connection. By slowed, I don't necessarily mean truly slow, just slower than it usually operates. I have had that issue happen with Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, iQiyi, and Tencent/WeTV. It will also occur if you skip forward or backward too frequently. It messes with the timing of the subtitles.
We donβt know yet because things can change from the source material. My main question would be how do they…
Hopefully, it will be like in Blossom and Legend of the Female General, which both feature rebirth, and the writers/producers/etc will have figured out a loop hole for a happy ending.

It is totally worth the watch! 8/10 stars, and I very, very, very rarely ever rate a vertical drama that high.
