really love Nico iaco's theory about maybe dohoe hates violence bc of his lil rant about it and he is either mad at juyeong for enacting violence upon his dad (which would be a bit odd since he alr said he doesn't care about juyeong hitting his teacher but i digress) or that he becomes scared of himself when he's about to fucking stab his father (😭) and thinks hanging around juyeong might make him violent too bc he would want to protect him or something,, that last theory i can see happening and its really fun to think about
personally i don't think juyeong's pissed off dohoe by this encounter, i mean mans was ready to stab a bitch like so i don't really get why people think he would be mad at juyeong for hitting his dad and that's why he's ghosting him,, imo i think dohoe is actually mad at himself. he's not dumb i mean he noticed that juyeong was getting hurt he got really mad about it too, and im very sure he doesn't fully believe juyeong when he says that he's only getting hurt by practicing.. maybe he is now thinking that he may be the reason juyeong is getting hurt, and the only way for juyeong to not get hurt by his father's hands is to distance himself. and i mean it works lowkey right like for 12 years he doesn't talk to juyeong and for those 12 years it seems like juyeong and his dad's relationship became a lot better for sure.
which, also, if i (and like basically every child in my town) got abused by my father and he turned basically the whole town against me because of it AND he hurt my friend/lover and i cut him off for it,, i would also be just a smidge angry at my ex lover if he becomes buddy buddy with him like 😭😭😭 wdym you're acting like a son to the dude who not only abused ME but YOURSELF TOO LIKE MAKE IT MAKE SENSE HELLO.
but ALSO idk juyeong kind of bonding with dohoe's dad kinda makes sense too. i mean i buy that it started off as kind of a compulsory thing where he feels that if he continues to keep a link to his father then maybe he'll get to see dohoe again. but i also think over the years (i mean 12 years is a long fucking time) he kind of grew attached to him in an odd way like.. it's fucked up but many people who have been abused start forming bonds with people who were their abusers and choose to forgive (including myself, not saying im proud of it but like people are complicated)
switching back to dohoe's pov idk i feel like if i had to come to realise the man who abused me and kind of kept me stunted in life fucking died and i was finally free i would be feeling complicated emotions too and even though i'm glad he's dead he's still my dad so im a bit pissy about the whole thing. also come to find out the one person i thought would sympathise with me and knows what i was going through was fucking best friends with the dude like,, i mean i would make that comment too idk. i saw a comment that was like "it feels like dohoe is mocking juyeong for making all the effort at the funeral" but honestly i don't think it's malice bc at that point when that line happens, juyeong hadn't really been doing any of the host services, but i can get where dohoe is coming from -- maybe he's feeling a bit insecure bc juyeong kind of became the son that his dad wanted, the role he was never able to fulfill, and even though juyeong himself knows what a terrible man his father is, he still chose to keep in touch with him so he's a bit mad like "i thought we both hated this man what happened here?".

ok it's good !! but not great,, def not 8.1 but maybe closer to 7.8. i think it has solid actors, solid plot, solid story, but the direction/script is where the problem lies for me. if they went with more of a "never let me go" / "not me" vibe then i think it would have hit harder but idk with the way they've written it thus far, the "serious" scenes just fall a bit flat for me. if they just wrote/directed it in a more serious way i think i would have liked it better. still enjoying it though let's see what else they'll do with it!!

in fact the chemistry between EVERYONE is great in this,, not just the couples (even though the couples have great chemistry too) but even friends and the chemistry between the doctors too.. most of the candid acting is believable like the doctor spraying dee with water in the first episode and his reaction to that or kao's reaction to dee's woes in the latest episode where he wants to strangle him for a split second lol. the chemistry between everyone is so great i just love this
i think this is def the best role drake has ever been in (that i've watched at least)!! in 2gether his character was annoying, well mostly for me bc i just didn't care for the love triangle thing. and in only friends i don't really remember much of his character besides,, the ,, the scenes BUT in this show drake steals all of my attention in every scene he's in!!
