A Love That Was Always Meant to Hurt
When LiuYi asked ChuSan
why he didn’t spend New Year with his girlfriend
he answered quietly
we broke up
No anger
no explanation
just an ending
LiuYi acted surprised
but there was a faint smile
one he couldn’t fully hide
So it was just the two of them
on a cold rooftop
celebrating a new year
that already felt empty
They smiled at each other
like nothing had changed
even though everything had
Far away
Detective Xie Jia Hua stepped into a crime scene
and walked straight into his past
A body tied to a chair
a chain cutting into the neck
a knife laid across a ruined face
Exactly the same
as the one he loved before
Some wounds never close
they only wait
He swore to find Fatty Seven
and LiuYi
to make someone pay
for a pain that never left
And somehow
LiuYi became part of it
just by being there
A witness
a suspect
someone caught in a story
that only ends in loss
ChuSan arrived in time
but “in time” never means enough
He pulled glass from LiuYi’s skin
slowly
carefully
His hands trembled
Not because of the blood
but because every piece he removed
felt like he was hurting him again
LiuYi had nowhere to go
so he stayed
In a small room
barely enough space to breathe
They shared a bed
but not their thoughts
Just quiet glances
in the dark
And for a moment
LiuYi slept
Better than he ever had
As if being close
was the only place that didn’t hurt
The next morning
as ChuSan wrapped his wounds
he saw everything
the scars
the bullets
the knives
all the times LiuYi almost didn’t make it
And the memories came back
An alley
where LiuYi saved him
Then again
and again
A life given
and returned
over and over
A graduation
where LiuYi stood quietly in the crowd
A hospital
where he held him
while everything else was falling apart
They never left each other
Not once
And that was the problem
Because love like this
doesn’t save you
It traps you
I’m afraid of losing you
ChuSan said
His voice breaking
like something already shattered
I love you
Not soft
not unsure
Too late
too heavy
And he kissed him
Like holding on
could stop what was coming
But it can’t
There is only one episode left
And nothing in their world
has ever ended gently
ChuSan lost his parents
to the same life he’s still living
His mother’s last words
were a warning
Don’t love someone in the gang's world
But love doesn’t care
He chose LiuYi anyway
Even if it means
watching him bleed
again
and again
Even if it means
one day
he won’t make it in time
Because in the end
love like this
doesn’t heal
It only gives you
someone you can’t live without
and then
takes them away

Next week is the final episode, we really need a season 2.
I really liked episode 1, it was fast paced and fun to watch. But from episode 2 to 12 it felt dragged out. Honestly, they could have told the same story in six episodes. I cannot believe I sat through all 12 without skipping a single scene. The plot was weak and it is the kind of series you forget about after a few weeks. It really feels like a waste of a talented cast.
Love Twisted by Lies, Jealousy, and Silence
LiuYi kept avoiding ChuSan for days,
thinking silence could bury what happened
that quiet kiss in the car while he slept.
But ChuSan was too clever,
he figured it out,
so he lied, gently, convincingly,
inventing something unreal
Jandamon Latent Cognitive Disorder
hiding behind fake tears,
wiping his glasses instead of his eyes,
almost ridiculous,
yet LiuYi still believed him.
So LiuYi tried to change him,
to make him stronger,
to turn everything into something simple.
They started with boxing,
but ChuSan gave up quickly,
he was never a match.
ChuSan just lifted him, held him,
and in that moment,
their eyes met too long,
saying things neither dared to speak.
On the stairs,
ChuSan watched him,
smiling to himself,
wanting more than he should.
On the rooftop,
it got worse.
A drink spilled down ChuSan’s shirt,
and LiuYi couldn’t stop looking.
They were falling for each other,
quietly,
dangerously.
Then everything broke at dinner.
A gun pointed at LiuYi’s head.
ChuSan wasn’t afraid for himself,
only for him.
And LiuYi,
in front of everyone,
took his hand and walked him out.
If that wasn’t love,
it felt too close to it.
Later, in the alley,
ChuSan finally spoke.
He wasn’t afraid to die,
he was afraid LiuYi would.
He had already lost his parents to that world,
he couldn’t lose LiuYi the same way.
He wanted to take him away,
to protect him instead.
But love turned into something messier.
LiuYi gave him a phone,
even a gun,
as if protection could fix everything.
Then jealousy came.
He waited,
saw someone else too close to ChuSan,
and lost control.
He punched him,
dragged ChuSan away,
unable to hide what he felt.
Still, he made it worse.
He pushed another person toward ChuSan,
thinking it would fix him,
not realizing it would only hurt himself.
Seeing them together,
holding hands,
it stayed in his mind,
turning into anger,
then into something weaker.
When ChuSan visited him in the hospital,
he didn’t comfort him,
he only made it hurt more.
By the time the new year came,
ChuSan invited only LiuYi.
LiuYi refused at first,
said he had better things to do,
but still showed up anyway.
Because deep down,
he already knew.
He had pushed ChuSan away,
lied to himself,
pretended it meant nothing.
But now it was too late to ignore.
He missed him.
He needed him.
And the worst part was,
he finally understood
how much ChuSan meant to him
only after he had already
started losing him.

At first I was so mad episode 23 had me heated this girl was jealous and literally tried to kill the female lead and luckily the male lead showed up just in time or she would have died and then they just brushed it off like nothing happened fine I tried to accept it because it is a historical drama.
But then episode 30 made my blood boil even more the prince actually attempted to rape the female lead and again the male lead saved her at the last second and somehow everyone just moved on like it was nothing just because he is the prince that whole situation was never properly addressed and that really annoyed me. But it make sense by the ending.
Then everything changed after episode 38 the biggest plot twist ever the real mastermind is the king and it turns out he has a twin they were separated at birth and the real king was actually killed by his identical twin who took his place on the throne the whole time. What???
I was honestly shocked trying to piece together how he managed to plan everything including killing both his own sons only to find out they were not even his real sons in the end it was such a clever and unexpected twist.
Whoever came up with this plot is seriously brilliant this drama has everything insane twists great martial arts and a storyline that keeps you completely hooked I love it so much it really ticks all the boxes. 10/10

We met at the wrong time but loved too deeply anyway
LiuYi drove through the night just to say sorry
but the truth hit him too late
he never knew what ChuSan went through
he never knew ChuSan was forced into that life as a kid
never knew his mother died because of that same world
and her last words were just
don’t follow me
don’t become me
but life didn’t listen
while LiuYi was waiting outside
everything suddenly fell apart
ChuSan ran out carrying his unconscious dad
hands shaking
voice breaking
and without thinking
LiuYi rushed him to the hospital
ChuSan had already lost so much in life
his father was the only one who stayed
the one who raised him
supported him
believed in him
he studied hard
did everything right
just wanted a normal life
and still
he almost lost him
sitting in the hospital
he cried like everything inside him collapsed
kept saying he was useless
that he failed
and LiuYi stayed
held his hand
pulled him close
and said
it’s okay
everything will be fine
maybe those words weren’t perfect
but at that moment
they meant everything
ChuSan leaned on his shoulder the whole night
like that was the only place he felt safe
until morning came
and the doctor said the surgery was successful
and for once
life gave something back
LiuYi told him
in the future
I will take care of your father with you
when the nurse called for family
he answered immediately
I am here
like it was the most natural thing
later
he brought ChuSan into his world
not to show off
but to tell everyone
this person matters
protect him
it was his birthday
but ChuSan didn’t know
so he gave the only thing he could
a simple drawing of a cake
just paper
just ink
but to LiuYi
it meant more than anything expensive
that same night
LiuYi went home
every year
his sister and brother in law celebrated with him
this time
no one was there
they were gone
and the silence hit harder than anything
maybe it was the alcohol
maybe it was the grief
he closed his eyes
and ChuSan was the one who carried him
and for the first time
he didn’t hold back
he kissed him
soft
real
no hesitation
but he didn’t know
LiuYi felt it
after that
everything changed
LiuYi started avoiding him
not because he didn’t care
but because he cared too much
it was the 1980s
this kind of love wasn’t allowed
so he chose distance
but ChuSan didn’t give up
he bought food
bought a cake
waited
hoped
again and again
until one night
he couldn’t take it anymore
he went to LiuYi’s place
stood outside
and called him
one of them was all in
the other was scared of what it meant
and somehow
that’s what made it hurt more
love came
but not at the right time
and maybe that’s the saddest part
