I’m wondering this too. 🤔
IKR the characterisation of this version of the brother has no saving grace. It looks like they are going to go all in on making him a pantomime ‘villain’. I was re-watching the Korean version this week and remembered why I thought the brother’s character was so unashamedly selfish but even that version wasn’t as twisted as this version where the brother knows he’s not the one that was kidnapped, yet he’s still playing the victim and behaving like an a-hole for shits and giggles.

why is the kidnapping still a big secret? Makes no sense when everyone is an adult? I wonder what twist the Pinoy…

The second half is definitely the better half. Part of Mew’s skill set is being able to create really good chemistry with his onscreen partner. Because there wasn’t a lot of romance building scenes with the both of them prior to the halfway point, this chemistry was practically non existent. Episodes 1-8 are about a 6.5-7/10 and episodes 9-12 are more like a 7.5-8/10.

Agreed. The major part of suicide cases is proven to be intended to actually make the surroundings relieved. The…
Yup. As much as I loved this series, I found the way they propagandised suicide so messed up.

Title Another Miss Oh Spoiler
Oh god how come this drama had rating dropped like this? I mean it was masterpiece at the time its aired, that's…
I read the comments before watching and the impression I got from the comments is not the same ones I got after watching. The ML, after thinking some dude cheated with his fiancé, asked the person he knew not to invest in the dude. He didn’t set him up for fraud or anticipated any of the things that would happen. Side note, the SML’s fate would have happened regardless of the ML’s interference. Even if the ML hadn’t mistaken who the SML was, all he did was tell his friend to pull his investment. The comments here are acting like he committed murder or planned out the downfall of the dude (both things the SML did in the original timeline - though I don’t blame him for taking revenge on the ML, it’s the murder part that’s indefensible).

Also, it seems everyone has missed where the FL said she didn’t love her ex fiancé that much. She says she never allowed herself to love someone fully. That she was more upset over the embarrassment of having him call off the wedding than losing him. It doesn’t make him a bad person, it just means he’s not the one for her and it’s right that she didn’t get back with him. It’s only right that he finds someone who he can be the ‘one’ for.

As for the ML and the FL getting together, neither of them have stolen anyone from anyone. They were both single and free to mingle. Their respective others gave them up for whatever reason. This caused them to miss their chance with the leads. That’s life.

one ep left & this is like my 10 comment... I adore this show & HATE that the rating is so low. I get its not…
Agree. It’s not for me (which is why I won’t be giving it a rating) and I only watch it to pass the time but I really like that other people are enjoying it. The comments have been lovely to read. It’s very niche and it’s good to see that some viewers get it’s charm and like it.

Honestly, even with 7 episodes - Lovely Runner is a very engaging drama with everything going right for it. But…
I don’t disagree with anything you said. The diverse comments and diverse viewership means that there are every category of people watching this drama (stans, neutrals, hate watchers, first time watchers, young, old etc). This all contributes to the ratings, hype, popularity and visibility. This is what explains the huge popularity. That essentially ‘everyone’ is watching (whatever their reasons may be). You had shows recently like My Demon, Marry My Husband etc that were also popular for a variety of reasons but popularity alone didn’t get them anywhere near 20% viewership. For whatever reason they didn’t resonate with as many (South Korean) tv watchers as this drama has.

I also plan to watch Lovely Runner. It’s one I’m really excited about but I’ll be watching when it finishes airing. I’m trying to cut down on watching airing dramas as I feel I’m a little less forgiving if I watch them week to week.

Sorry to break it to you, but its been confirmed that the two special episode's format is literally just a Q&A…
Thanks for letting me know. I don’t mind a Q&A, even though I would prefer actual episodes.

I might be wrong but I thought all the orphanage scenes were post the brother’s death. Meaning that ES lived with his mother before she left him to go be with the chairman. I also wonder when the wife of the chairman died.

yes
I absolutely agree. If I didn’t have the confirmation that she lived into old age I would have thought there was the possibility that the tumour came back and she still died young.

I’m really looking forward to the two special episodes. I think it will be focused on how they lived their lives afterwards, leading up to their old age. I’m hoping to see when they found out they were expecting again, watching their daughter grow, seeing how they took their company to new heights and seeing Hae-In in old age.

I actually have the same question. She seemed to hold a contempt for them specifically, so I would have liked to see what made her choose them and how she met that family and decided they were the ones.

I roll my eyes when people think that everyone is watching something for the hype or because they stan the actors. I don’t like something just because it’s popular but I also don’t dump on it because it’s popular. Additionally, I don’t stan or worship celebrities either. I just like and appreciate talent and dramas that resonate. I judge each drama at face value and try to give everything a chance. I am someone with no skin in the game, no allegiance and who tries to be an objectively-subjective viewer. And even I can say there was something special about Queen of Tears. Where even though it had its flaws, I can understand why it captivated and touched the hearts of so many viewers.
