My comment is from a perspective of unraveling the mystery, not a perspective of defending the FL. Tbh the characters are not what I’m focused on in this drama (I have no dog in the fight). I’m here for the mystery/the plot unraveling.

My theories remain the same and I’ll also say I think there’s more to that fire than we’ve seen. There’s no way temple girl wouldn’t be able to make it out in time, unless it was done on purpose and someone forced her to burn inside by blocking her exists. Smells like a cover up to me.

If they do nothing with the female director who says cryptic/borderline supervillain stuff, then that would be a wasted opportunity.

For them to work together to find out the truth about what really happened five years ago with the candle incident.

Ok, so my three part theory still stands but I’d like to amend/add that I think the spirit/shadow that is clinging on to the FL is not doing so out of maliciousness but as a cry for help. I theorised after last week’s episodes that I thought the temple girl was responsible for the shadow but now it seems she IS the shadow and she knows the truth of what happened 5 years ago (obvs because she’s dead 😅) and she’s been trying to lead them to the truth, not haunt/harm the FL as I first thought.

MY THEORIES AGAIN:

✅ Na Eon did something 5 years ago that affected the temple girl negatively and Eun Ho is there to find out the truth and take revenge on Na Eon. After today’s episode I can check off this theory as Na Eon did do something 5 years ago that set stuff in motion, which lead to the death of temple girl and Eun Ho is there to take his revenge on Na Eon because he thinks she’s responsible.

Jung Woo is the masked rabbit who almost killed Na Eon but I still think this was not his intention and that he was sent there to scare Na Eon only. Another reason I think he’s the masked rabbit is because the masked rabbit clipped Na Eon’s nails in the hospital. This either had to be done by a female (only females would notice someone’s nails needed clipping), or someone who really REALLY cares about Na Eon. We all know by now how much Jung Woo cares about Na Eon; to the point of obsession.

The female director is the mastermind behind a plot to take over the entire company and it’s this plot that has set the other two things above in motion (unwittingly). I think the ‘blame’ she took for the incident 5 years ago and the subsequent cover up were all part of her bigger plan to get closer to taking over the company (maybe some sort of reward or position boost for taking the blame AND fixing the problem) but her fix lead to temple girl’s death and set Eun Ho on the path for revenge. She’s been trying to cover up that incident ever since but Na Eon has been trying to uncover the truth since then, leading the female director to send Jung Woo to scare Na Eon but he accidentally almost kills her instead. I think she’s working with Rabbit Guy from the first episode. He’s an asset for some sort of power play she’s planning. I really think the male director being the mastermind is a red herring but who knows, it could be exactly as it appears.

It did cross my mind about Eun Ho being the masked rabbit but (and I may be wrong), k-dramas tend to keep their leads ‘innocent’ (if you know what I mean). I don’t see them making the lead the person responsible for someone’s almost death. Even by accident (but again, I could be wrong). I still think three different things are happening that are being perpetrated by three separate people.

Throughout the latest episode I was thinking the masked rabbit person could be the temple girl because only a female would think to cut Na Eon’s nails while she was in hospital. But, then the last scene got me thinking temple girl is dead and her death was the unfortunate outcome of that incident from 5 years ago and she is who ML is getting revenge for. They’ve been hinting with all the candles in the temple. We’ve been thinking that we’re watching temple girl in the present but what if her scenes are flashbacks.

I suspected the rabbit guy too at first but he’s starting to feel like a red herring for her almost death. He strikes me as the type who would be moving chess pieces for a takeover rather than getting his own hands dirty, although the writers can decide whatever they want for the reveal. I’ve long accepted that k-drama revelations don’t often make any sense. 😅
Still it’s fun to theorise, even if the resolution ends up being something completely random. 😂

100% agree with this. She has been pretty brash in her actions but as you said, there’s always a reason for it (though it may not appear that way from the outside). This is why I reasoned ML thinks she’s the cause of the incident from 5 years ago because of her general demeanour and ways of getting things done. He doesn’t know that she was set up to take the fall and he’s slowly starting to learn that she’s not as she appears on the outside.

To clarify: When I say without remorse. I mean the usual way she kinda steam rolls over everyone to achieve her goal but yeah, she was not responsible for the incident 5 years ago. I think she was set up to take the fall by the female director, as mentioned in point #3 but that Eun Ho thinks she’s the one responsible, as mentioned in point #1.

I had a theory last week but I want to add to my theory that the ML is not as clueless about the situation as he’s letting on. It’s flying under the radar but one of the conditions he had for working with that director was for information on Na Eun. That’s suspicious. Also the timing of them switching bodies again is double suspicious.

So here’s my theory: I think three separate things are happening which have become connected because they all have Na Eun at the centre of them.

#1 - I think Na Eun did something without remorse (like she usually does) that unknowingly had a huge negative knock-on effect on Eun Ho, that temple girl and her family or their community. I believe Eun Ho and the temple girl came up with the plan to do a ritual for him and Na Eun to switch bodies so he could find out the information he needs and I think this has to do with the incident from 5 years ago. I predict that the temple girl is also responsible for the black shadow that’s trying to suffocate Na Eun. Eun Ho may or may not know this.

#2 - I think Jung Woo is the person responsible for almost killing Na Eun. I don’t think this was on purpose (i.e. I don’t think he went there that night to kill her). I think he either got mad at her in the moment and pushed her or she saw him in the mask, got scared and tried to fight back which resulted in him pushing her. I think he was sent there on orders from above. Maybe he was even told to scare Na Eun.

#3 - I believe the female mentor/director is the mastermind behind everything. I think she has some big plan or grand scheme to take full control of the company. She strikes me as a hugely ambitious person. And unfortunately Na Eun had become collateral damage in her plotting, starting from 5 years ago when Na Eun was made to take the fall for that incident. I think it’s the same incident that had some kind of negative outcome for Eun Ho and that temple girl and he is at the company to uncover the truth but he thinks Na Eun really was the one responsible. I think the female director also sent Jung Woo to scare Na Eun that night she almost died because from the last couple of episodes we see that Na Eun has been trying to find out what really happened 5 years ago. All this time she still hasn’t let it go. She’s been trying to find out the truth. I think the female director thought she could scare Na Eun and tarnish her reputation with that animal testing scandal (with rabbit guy helping the female mentor in this plot) and she hoped this would stop Na Eun from searching and finding answers about the incident 5 years ago.

And that is how these three things tie in together, because they’re all centred around Na Eun and the incident from 5 years ago.

I’ve seen a few of your comments in the comments section and it always makes me smile to see that the show is bringing you so much joy. 🙂

Commenting to see if anyone else is perceiving the show in the same way or if its just me:

So, this show is coming across really weird for me because the story/premise is really, really interesting but it’s playing out in a dis-engaging way. I watch each episode and whenever something juicy or interesting is revealed and is about to play out, it immediately falls flats. It’s even worse going from the intrigue of a new revelation as a cliffhanger towards the end of one episode, to that revelation immediately losing its intrigue in the next episode. I think this might be because the leads aren’t able to carry this series (especially the FL) and this is not something I say lightly. I can’t remember the last time I watched the leads of a show who either got swallowed up in the show or who faded into the background even when they’re the only ones in the scene. I find the scenes with the ex husband and his mother the most compelling and I can get into it somewhat when the side characters or the ML are on the screen but it completely loses me every other scene (especially FL only and FL + ML scenes). As I said, it’s really weird and unexpected and I can’t quite wrap my brain around it.

This scene confused me too. At first I thought he had harmed himself due to the SML getting married, as the scene was really quick and I hadn’t really noticed where the bruising/injuries were. Now I’ve had some time to go over the scene in my head, I recall that he had bruising on his head. This could have been self inflicted as the place was trashed but he also had bruising on his body. Maybe someone did it to him. I also thought it was self inflicted because SML ran away after seeing him that way. I wonder, wouldn’t he have helped if someone had beaten him up? 🤔 I’m hoping they’ll elaborate on that scene instead of never mentioning it again.

3rd they can share their opinion on your opinion. Which is what most people are doing and are freely in their right to do so. If you wanted to shout into an echo chamber, you probably should have stuck your head into a bowl and shared your thoughts there. 🙄

I was wondering this too but then thought it would be out of character for grandpa to think this. Then again, it’s only been 2 eps. Grandpa’s character hasn’t fully fleshed out yet.
