Idk what will I do after this ends T^T I need something silly like this to fill the void T^T
well something light from this year's transmigration for me: minis: "royal upstart" is just pure positivity "the relic keeper" is virtually 0 angst from normal length, i think "Love and Sword" https://mydramalist.com/702847-love-and-sword
I think people are missing the point when they say they can’t empathize with the mother. You absolutely can.…
"‘trying’ makes someone entitled to forgiveness" well that's why i said if he didn't do it well, and she didn't explain to him what is he doing wrong... he should walk. although, i'm not entirely convinced he did anything wrong and i'm certain she has no skills to explain it either. actually i'd love to hear some suggestions on actual physical actions he should perform to show his sincerity.
i honestly don't care how it was intended to be interpreted by the writers also i doubt you know their intent. i'm watching a show i interpret what i see. i accept that relationships are complex but also that each situation must be evaluated fairly. here we are not shown that her effort was greater than his or the other way around. more likely they complemented each other and i don't recall him saying that he achieved everything by himself (even if they didn't achieve much). we know nothing of how they got through their tough times, were the times tougher than now? no idea. that said ... he remembers only 20 years of being verbal & physical abuse. hmm. still, there are 2 sides to the story but he definitely loves his kids.
i said what i felt after watching their interactions in the show. i'm seeing two people who drifted so far apart that they can't interpret intent behind each other's actions. if out of the two us it's me whose empathy is one sided that's fine.
i'm not hiding the fact that i am a man. are you going to suggest that i can't comment on the current situation? in any case differences in how men & women perceive same situations is pretty much always the cause of problems in relationships. the analogy that you called weak is an exaggerated example of a number one cause of male infidelity. whether it's fair or not you can interpret it the way you like.
that's a weird one, "forgive men for their shortcomings" well ok. let's come up with a list of shortcomings and we could discuss it one by one and decide which could and couldn't be forgiven .... just kidding i have no interest in doing that for men or women especially when it doesn't apply here anyway.
actually, your original post started with something like "i must be able to sympatize" then you changed it to it makes you sad that people interpret it differently to "how it should be", now you "think people are missing point". it really is normal for different people to interpret certain situations differently based on age, culture, gender, experiences. so no need to be sad it's actually quite normal and nothing to be intrigued by.
Their relationship shows one result when we neglect and don’t nurture our relationships. NEither one is truly…
absolutely. even everything is going smoothly it's easy to drift apart. here it reminds me of a joke. 2 old people are getting a divorce one is 100 the other 105. "judge asks why are you getting a divorce at such an old age?" ... "we were waiting for children to die "
I think people are missing the point when they say they can’t empathize with the mother. You absolutely can.…
are you replying to my post or replied by accident instead of creating your own?
i did say "maybe she interprets his actions as attempts to appease her and doubts that he sincerely values her". now i didn't see him trying to brush her off. and he made every possible way he knows how to communicate that she is important to him. if he failed to do so and she cared she should've found a way to communicate that to him.
"when he praises her for being good with money..." at this stage it's better than saying that she throws a good punch. that's all he knows about her. sad but yeah, i can see it can be difficult.
anyway by "work the same hours" i meant they also do the same amount of work. she cuts vegetables he cuts the rest. their tasks are comparable. i assume being a chef is a little more than just cutting ingredients and throwing them into the pot. but regardless some of your comments praising her seem like a very generic projection. we were not shown enough for you to make those claims. also, i did say that raising kids is tough when there's no money. also, they were broke when they arrived to the past so they still had nothing. so who he is today is an insecure emotional wreck barely trying to get his shit together. yeah i agree she made a serious contribution to that.
it's funny to me how differently we interpret his praise of himself. you see arrogance while i see some guy excited to finally get some small win. ad absurd um example, like some fat guy who finally got to the gym and managed to do 10 push ups jumps up and shouts "i'm the best in the world". wife "a" says "well done you", wife "b" says "i bought your gym membership, your gear, packed your bag, so we have have to share credit for that, and oh yeah you're still fat a bastard that barely managed to do 10 push ups, the guy on the machine next to you can do 12". like, i'm not sure how far society moved on now but i'm 99% sure that when that guy is going to be able to do 100 push ups his wife "b" will be cheated on or divorced. actually relationship with wife "b" really has no future even if he says f' that gym.
in some situations yeah your points are valid, and it's not confined to chinese culture either. case in point would be a british film "shirley valentine" it's actually very good for what you're trying to say. but i definitely don't see a "shirley valentine" here.
i'm having a really tough time to sympathise with the mother.
they all work the same hours. he gives most of his salary to her and gets 10 qian a month (price of a lamb-skewer set they are selling) and this arrangement happened in a very inappropriate way. on this money he attempts to buy her presents (i don't remember him buying anything for himself) attempts to share her workload and generally appease her on every turn. but all he gets is scorn, hit and generally abused. forget about getting some support he gets scolded even for giving himself a pat on the back.
anyway, so out of 33 years of marriage, he remembers only the last 20. the number of years he was getting similar treatment? maybe she interprets his actions as attempts to appease her and doubts that he sincerely values her? alright. after 20 years of hardship and raising kids. no doubt life was hard for both of them. although, his expectations that now they have money she will will suddenly change her attitude is a bit much, but her expectations that he should suddenly remember to treat her how she was 33 ago are pretty wild too. given that intelligence is primarily inherited from the mother and handsome shen being the way he is ... yeah ... i'm wondering.
anyway, i'll be really disappointed if in e26 papa shen is not shown taking a deep breath, counting to 10 and just walking out the door.
it still didn't happen at e23. e24 & e25 don't look promising either.
i started to seriously dislike these two screenwriters. they start in one genre and then do some weird spin to completely ruin the vibe. don't know why they do that. maybe they have issues with staying happy for too long or this pattern works and just doesn't suit my taste.
someone else mentioned below what could've been easier than coming clean about their origin. so he would be aware that this group of people believes that they are from the future and that's why he is being pushed away. whether he believed this explanation or not is a different issue.
Are 'sugar-prints' (getting fingerprints from boiled sugar) in Ep19 even possible?? (ㅎ.ㅎ)
it'sa collaborative project now - i think we knocked out at least a 4 hour mini.ateam, konght rider, magnum pi & charlies angels.. it;s going to be a hit 🤣
I am so confused as to why it's such a big deal that 1,000 years ago the ML was the Shen family's ancestor? I…
hi there, i'd say it wasn't such a big deal if they didn't actually worship him as a deity for most of their lives. also, i dont know know why they jumped straight away to butterfly effect but who the hell would be brave enough to test which theory is the correct one on themselves unless there's no other choice.
it still didn't happen at e23. e24 & e25 don't look promising either.
yeah. that's why i dont agree with people saying it's a slow burn. she is hurting herself now to stay away from him. will wait for it to happen, but im watching it now with a cold stare of a snake.

yeah i can see it now. both open tang dynasty-theme diners across the road from each other that start selling burgers & chips. an epic firefight ensues in the finale. our man is armed with spud guns & homemade gunpowder. the villain says "I don't believe in guns" quickly mixes some chilis, vinegar & baking soda in jars and bombs the other place. while the staff was running around they knocked over palettes with flour which when got ignited by our homemade electricity generator and the restaurant goes up in dust explosion.
so yeah it doesn't not have a happy end though.
it turned out that the villain was actually macgyver (the real one not that fake one from a few years back). he was pulled out of retirement for one last case to break up illegal alcohol, msg and weapons production ring ran under the cover of a tang-dynasty themed restaurant.
final scene is a setup for s2. eyes open, looks like in tang dynasty, looks like he transmigrated to the right time and the place is alright. but the host body is ... a eunuch 🤦♀️
btw *if i see a reboot of macgyver with this plot* i want money 😆

actually an idea fora drama 🤔 someone watches a lot of dramas and makes a list of things to know in case they time travel or transmigrate to the past. obviously it never happens but in the process he/she learns enough stuff to actually utilize all that knowledge to achieve something useful in the present ... nah, boring.
There is Hidden Master: Special Edition on Tencent WeTV,anyone know what is it? what is the difference?
i'd also like to know that. cursory glance is that it has only 20 episodes and each are ~ 15 minutes long so i guess it's a version cut down to a mini.

for a laugh tried a few things. now i think anything sticky but not too soggy would work. like the objective is to pick up the dust without disturbing the shape. not sure if it would work in those amounts of syrup but thin layer of honey on grease proof paper worked after a few attempts. had to gently rub some cigarette ash between tips of fingers first, then touched a knife blade. couldn't get it to work the other way around i guess it's difficult to intentionally cover something in dust evenly probably how dry the finger is matters too. anyway if the thief touched the dusty box first then the lock then yeah it's possible. it was way easier with some sellotape and a dusty cd.
anyway, i learned something new today 🤦♀️ maybe it'll come in handy tonight in my local
