Personally I think it should be an 11. But just by looking at age group stats changes for a (short) while I think it will settle somewhere between 8 to 8.5.

Casting was absolutely stellar. Everything was excellent. Pity I knew nothing about the story; wasn't on MDL at the time so was completely unprepared for the twists and the cliffhanger.

A lot of people just completed watching it." Currently watching" is now around 17%. Given that we all have personal rankings it's just bound to happen. For example some good reviews but they'd give a 7.5 (shrug). Another example does JoL2 objectively deserve a 9?... no. Did I give it a 9? ... yeah. But I rate from 8.5 to 10 with half star increments. Others would rate from 5 using full stars or whatever other factors (which they consider to be rational). Others just checked it out coz it's still trending and are scratching their heads...why. Also,MDL's antibot magic blackbox 😕 anyway this rank value is the least useful I've seen anywhere.

In S2 she does not strike me as an idiot at all. Yeah she is trapped in a situation,depressed without a good way out. But why shouldn't she have her own game with someone who will be her future husband. Where's her being stupid?

Yeah it is and I'm in 40s so like I said not exactly the target audience. still I thought it was very good. Plots are intriguing. Special effects are decent not great but they fit well. I started it in the middle watched to the end and then went back to start. Rare for me to do that. And I didn't feel like I wasted my time which is even rarer. Acting is well done. None pissed me off much and I thought all , including,supporting peeps were great. A lot of (now big) names pop up here completely unexpectedly as well.
There are a few draggy places but they are rare.
And I was looking forward to S2.

You need to watch s1 otherwise it will feel even more rushed the characters will feel even more underdeveloped and the whole story will not make any sense.

Hi there. Well although I'm not in the target demographic for this show, so some humour went over my head. Overall I liked it a lot. The ending is a cliffhanger and there will never be S2 so beware 😀

Lol I'm actually glad they will remove harem ending. After that whole "pure love" set up for "drumstick girl" in s1 it just doesn't feel right to me.

For emperor it's require in case one of wives, concubines or whatever has some genetic condition which will cause the lineage to die out so kind of unavoidable. FXs case... doesn't seem similar to me.

Regarding his smarts and arrogance a lot of it was overboard too. Like 300 pages ago I threw banana peel in a corner haha now you slipped on it type of smarts was difficult to take seriously.

What sharkamy said also a lot of activity is done close to floor level low tables etc. so I think it would be similar to stuff happening in central Asia where they wash floors like 10 times a day. Had a dinner wash the floor so to speak.

Yes you have to watch S2. Otherwise you'll think characters underdeveloped and appear out of nowhere.

I thought S1 had way more comedy than S2. Also,I expected to have people talking for the whole of S2 pleasantly surprised it was not the case 🤣 someone put it nicely below (paraphrasing) S1 is about introducing FX, S2 is about FX consolidating his influence and setting up alliances S3 is showdown. Screenwriter works with OS so he can't give s1 three times regardless of what criticisms he will read online. unfortunate?yes.

I doubt they are gonna show the rest of Haitang's assistance. They've shown that the book was helpful and that he worked hard. Haitang helped him.The slash was there to short circuit this whole plot. So I think you're right in saying that it was a combination of all three.

She has character like her mother alright,but missing the dash of "evil" ...or maybe just lacks the right motivation 😀
Her voice when she was playing that game with a family was harsh harsh harsh.
