I read the Ming arc plays an essential part in JOL story. I wonder how many pages are focused on that part of…
Just checked my version, my chapter fit 336 to 492 if we count illegitimate 7th Ming who appears somewhere in the beginning of the river journey being a pirate and ends up taking over family estate in the end.
To novel readers:is the Ming family arc in the show so far the same as in the novel?
No experts showed up. So me with my bad memory : it's cut down a lot but all the major points align well.
I don't think prince showed up though. That scene was adapted from FX meeting some pirate boss. Also yeah they cut out an illegitimate Ming out of the picture as well, but he might turn up.
I think what's left with their direct involvement is the company going public, murder, and elder princess's arrival. Phase 3 starts in Jiangnan anyway.
Yeah, one should not be under an obligation to know the lore to enjoy it. So as standalone work it's pretty weak. Even to me every character gives off a cameo vibe. I wonder how the people who jumped directly into s2 feel 😁
Honestly, I expected worse. I remember thinking this season would feel like completely different genre, and there was a huge chunk to cover. Like the journey to Jiagnan could've been another 10 episodes easily. But I'm not some diehard fan/expert of the book either so yeah, it was alright for me.
Surgery scene is my biggest disappointment. I saw no point to change the original reason for it. And I don't remember emperor stealing RR's thunder. Also, I really wanted to see episode where she is getting into medical "college" (but it still might happen).
I think most of those side stories are over. Though my recollection is very vague (and not going to bother to refresh it), I don't expect that S3 would align to the book closely anyway and might have completely different vibe to s1 & s2.
Lol, I love her to bits. But she still has plenty to play in the remainder of the story without getting involved in a scenario that's like in top 3 of what people hate the most in dramas. So, I'm hoping for her character they'll stick to the novel and leave her as pure as driven snow.
Zhang Ya Qin would be great as Ye Qing Mei.Lol the masked commander Jing that wanted Fan Xian autograph made me…
Yeah, Jing was a total highlight, the reputation of those lads is so heavy easy to forget they are still people. Shadow was excellent too, missing the gravitas he had in s1 but brilliant contrast.
For YQM you could be right. I'd love to see LuSi in this role. And I love how she delivers insults which would be great for some parts but I don't think she'd live up to all those bright light descriptions.
I saw somewhere S3 is supposed to come out next year. Just wondering about 40ep limit per season. Is only one…
I googled it awhile ago but didn't see anything about constraint. I suppose if they brought in this rule it kinda makes sense to spell out such obvious loophole. Thanks for the info.
Season 3 has already been filmed? I read somewhere that it was filmed alongside season 2 but taking in consideration…
I saw somewhere S3 is supposed to come out next year. Just wondering about 40ep limit per season. Is only one season allowed per year? Like what would stop them from releasing bith seasons back to back? Apart from obvious production limitations like time and money?
The way that psycho bitch yun rui acted when she found out the male lead was ye qing mei son was insane and pisses…
Well empresses reaction is kinda understandable, like her entire family was wiped out as punishment for YQM's death. So of course as far as she is concerned FX shouldn't walk the earth.
Yun Ruí on the other hand. Yeah @hikikomiri below might have a point. She explained that even when she gave her best she was still leaving in YQMs shadow.
Both of them are pretty hardcore. For a set up where everyone is backstabbing everyone they outplayed most of the guys in that game.
Almost forgot about Mama Ming, she was excellent too.
In Ep 35, who were those villagers 'volunteers' and why did the ming family make them drink poisoned wine after…
Mings staged an accident to say that all equipment was ruined and experts died. So just like the old guys who attacked the ship those guys volunteered to die. To get the right body count for the ruse. Mings promised that their families will be taken care of
Lol, it's long anyway.
