Personally I'd discard all subplots with sibling rivalry, daddy issues, etc., and leave just 2 good looking kids trying to pull a fast-one on one another and falling in love in the process. I could easily do without all those other relationship explorations.Of course it would be an entirely different story 😂

Seriously I think it's done to avoid using names of novels. For western audiences a couple of good guys roaming the land doing good things could be called heroes alright.

Tbh none of them annoyed me much. LCF was just cringe but I get the tragedy of his existence. The girl,is also tragic but she has far less room for maneuver than LCF. She tries but without others' help she can't achieve anything.

My favourite líne from cdramas is "If heavens ask you to sit. You sit" so if I'm destined to watch every drama with word "heroes" in it who am I to go against heavens will 🙄 🤣

Heroes 2022 with Joseph Jeng. The only other one I'm aware of is the legend of heroes but I didn't know it's out already. If it's out I'll definitely start on that. It should be excellent. Checked your watchlist,yeah completely different "heroes" 🤣 I'll add them too let's see if they are related. I like Liu Yu Ning.

Who on MDL ShenLi recommended you that? It was mentioned a few times by regulars but that's about. No one there ever said if you like SL you should watch this. Like they are completely different.

Personally I liked the book hence the story but I find it hard to get through the series for my still unknown reasons.

That's why I feel cautious. I really hope screenwriter will cut it to bits. As Shen Li said men with complicated relationship are most despicable. Like in the novel Li Qin (wtv her name is) is supposed to he dying of TB half an hour drive away trying to visit him but he is in bed with Haitong. Even Li Qin is grand with it myself not so much.

I actually liked the book so I find it really weird that I just can't get into the series. In fairness I enjoyed first 10 eps far more than the first time. I guess a lot of it depends on current state of mind.

True. Well they gave almost every side character a story not sure if all them needed one. So,I wonder if parts which are draggy or rushed are also open to interpretation. I cant call it an adaptation really since they DJ'ed it beyond recognition but as a standalone project I don't think it's terrible. For some parts I've actually preferred this version.
