You should watch other older family dramas to see real hate. FL's grandma never raised her voice or punished her for dating him. The other family almost destroyed FL's mom career and reputation and almost cause FL to lose her job. She is a grown adult woman with boyfriend and both of them are quite successful in their careers no one can't force them to break up if they actually have courage to tell the truth.
