I explained the reason for this in the comment below. You can check it out.https://mydramalist.com/people/14352-chen-zhe-yuan#comment-23673992IQIYI…
Even when things are going well, haters will still hate him. š If you're truly a CZY fan, you need a strong mind to stick around!
He gets insulted all the time, for this and that, every time a new drama of his comes out, there's always criticism.
Unfortunately, he doesnāt have a strong team behind him to promote his work. His agency is seriously lacking. If you follow Chinese entertainment closely, youād be surprised. To boost a dramaās popularity, you often have to pay over 100 marketing accounts to create buzz. A good PR team that works closely with the platform can really make a difference in exposure but CZY doesnāt have that support.
The drama itself is good, and there are positive reviews from Chinese viewers, which is a bit surprising LOL. The only downside is that the story isnāt very new for some people, so theyāre not very interested in watching it.
Especially since a lot of female-centered dramas like female-general theme air back-to-back during the cold season, when people see the synopsis, they might think itās just the same old thing and decide not to start watching.
I know some people said they cant feel the chemistry. But I am in the opposite side.I feel their opposite attraction…
We canāt force people to feel the same way but when I watch this clip, I really sense the tension between them. I just hope the drama captures that well especially in the kiss scenes and doesnāt just cut away right when it gets good.
iQIYI is getting on my nerves again. Just like with his previous drama on this platform, thereās no proper promotion or even a decent fixed screen this time. I honestly hate having to pay them just to watch him. If it werenāt for CZY, I wouldnāt spend a single cent on this platform.
The drama itself is truly good. Even non-CZY fans are leaving positive reviews on the drama page. We donāt need to keep praising his acting there every day there, let his performance speak for itself. Real viewers can see the quality for themselves.
I canāt help but wonder, if this were a Tencent or Youku drama, would the promotion have been handled better?
Anyway, speaking without bias, I actually like this drama more than SAF4. His character is portrayed really well, and Iām glad to see that international drama fans are enjoying it too.
I really love his character! Heās funny, loyal to His Highness and even a shipper š¤£š¤£š¤£FSGās guard…
Heās really the character who can break my intense emotions while watching. During the intense scenes between the ML and FL, the moment he shows up, I just burst out laughing š¤£
The scene in episode 2 gave me goosebumps definitely a red-flag sadistic ML who doesnāt mess around when it comes to enemies, even if theyāre female. Considering itās set during an ancient war where life and death could change in the blink of an eye, we really canāt judge it by modern standards. But I can understand if some viewers find it a bit troubling.
Totally irrelevant to the plot which I'm enjoying, but I'm being seriously distracted by the lipstick/gloss on…
I canāt say I like Zheyuanās makeup here, in my opinion, itās a bit too much. They really shouldnāt have overdone it, not just his lips, but his whole face š.
Chen is great as always šbut actualy, it seems that I will watch it only because of him, the effects and costumes…
I was quite worried at first, since many people often comment on LQās romantic scenes and how her dramas usually end sadly. But surprisingly, sheās doing well in this drama when it comes to the āalmost romanticā moments and I can already feel some chemistry between them, even though theyāre not in love yet. Definitely worth continuing to watch.
This second male lead AGAIN, sick of him terrorizing my Cdramas šš
To be honest, they shouldnāt keep typecasting him like this. I really like how he looks in this drama and his team should find him more diverse roles to play while heās still young.
Finally, I have time to watch the drama! Even though Iām a CZY fan, I honestly didnāt expect him to pull off such a crazy, ruthless prince at this level, truly amazing. Iām glad he took on this role because it breaks the image of him always being the green-flag ML, even if some viewers complain that heās a bit too brutal toward FL š . This really proves his range as an actor, showing he doesnāt need to rely on the same type of roles or typecasting.
I just started buttt if at the end ML give up his title for love and to live in the country side Iām gonna lose…
Based on the novel, he wonāt give up either his love for the FL or his duty to rule his country, classic FSG. But Iām not sure if theyāll change that in the drama or not.

I really donāt think we can compare the level of madness in that epic series.
FSGās guard guys are such a blast to watch too.
