He gets insulted all the time, for this and that, every time a new drama of his comes out, there's always criticism.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a strong team behind him to promote his work. His agency is seriously lacking. If you follow Chinese entertainment closely, you’d be surprised. To boost a drama’s popularity, you often have to pay over 100 marketing accounts to create buzz.
A good PR team that works closely with the platform can really make a difference in exposure but CZY doesn’t have that support.

The drama itself is good, and there are positive reviews from Chinese viewers, which is a bit surprising LOL. The only downside is that the story isn’t very new for some people, so they’re not very interested in watching it.

Especially since a lot of female-centered dramas like female-general theme air back-to-back during the cold season, when people see the synopsis, they might think it’s just the same old thing and decide not to start watching.

We can’t force people to feel the same way but when I watch this clip, I really sense the tension between them.
I just hope the drama captures that well especially in the kiss scenes and doesn’t just cut away right when it gets good.

iQIYI is getting on my nerves again. Just like with his previous drama on this platform, there’s no proper promotion or even a decent fixed screen this time.
I honestly hate having to pay them just to watch him. If it weren’t for CZY, I wouldn’t spend a single cent on this platform.

The drama itself is truly good. Even non-CZY fans are leaving positive reviews on the drama page. We don’t need to keep praising his acting there every day there, let his performance speak for itself. Real viewers can see the quality for themselves.

I can’t help but wonder, if this were a Tencent or Youku drama, would the promotion have been handled better?

Anyway, speaking without bias, I actually like this drama more than SAF4. His character is portrayed really well, and I’m glad to see that international drama fans are enjoying it too.

The scene in episode 2 gave me goosebumps definitely a red-flag sadistic ML who doesn’t mess around when it comes to enemies, even if they’re female.
Considering it’s set during an ancient war where life and death could change in the blink of an eye, we really can’t judge it by modern standards.
But I can understand if some viewers find it a bit troubling.

I can’t say I like Zheyuan’s makeup here, in my opinion, it’s a bit too much.
They really shouldn’t have overdone it, not just his lips, but his whole face 😑.

I was quite worried at first, since many people often comment on LQ’s romantic scenes and how her dramas usually end sadly.
But surprisingly, she’s doing well in this drama when it comes to the ‘almost romantic’ moments and I can already feel some chemistry between them, even though they’re not in love yet. Definitely worth continuing to watch.

To be honest, they shouldn’t keep typecasting him like this.
I really like how he looks in this drama and his team should find him more diverse roles to play while he’s still young.

Even though I’m a CZY fan, I honestly didn’t expect him to pull off such a crazy, ruthless prince at this level, truly amazing.
I’m glad he took on this role because it breaks the image of him always being the green-flag ML, even if some viewers complain that he’s a bit too brutal toward FL 😅.
This really proves his range as an actor, showing he doesn’t need to rely on the same type of roles or typecasting.

Based on the novel, he won’t give up either his love for the FL or his duty to rule his country, classic FSG. But I’m not sure if they’ll change that in the drama or not.
