I’ve seen people express disappointment that Sha Lou shares more scenes with Zi Miao than with Ao Chi, and honestly,…
Wait!! They changed the “thousand-year love” into a “hundred-year love” instead?! No wonder C-dramas are dying... The whole romantic appeal of a love that lasts for a thousand years is completely gone.

We cannot even get a proper hundred-year love story between AC and SL in the drama, let alone a thousand-year one. WTH?!

🥹🥹🥹 To be honest, I only came back to watching C-dramas because of him... I have already gone back to watching K-dramas for a while now.

Right!!!! That is exactly why long-form Chinese dramas are declining in popularity in China. They keep producing nonsensical stories for whatever reason and it honestly feels like Chinese production companies love shooting themselves in the foot.

Does this have an English title too??
I think *The Kingdom as Dowry* should be the English title....

kindly be august mid release
Yeah, they keep postponing it, perhaps because ZJY’s recent drama has only just finished airing.
Mid-to-late August would be fine with me.

Then I will just ship Ao Chi with myself 🤣 It happens quite often in C-dramas that parts originally meant for the male lead are given to the second male lead instead.

If that really happens, I will simply watch the drama for Ao Chi.
And if anyone tries to use CZY as a stepping stone, just know that I will not hold back from criticizing it either 🙂🙂🙂

Ohhh, really? I checked before and the original novel seemed far too long. Since they are apparently changing many things for the drama adaptation anyway, I did not bother reading it.

Slightly off topic, this is only one drama. I am sure we will get to see him in another drama with plenty of romantic moments too. I guess we just have to trust him and wait patiently for it.

Sometimes, even something bad comes with something good. At least we will get to see CZY play several different characters in one drama.

Besides, all of his costumes look amazing and there are so many that I have already lost count. Maybe, just maybe, seeing CZY in all those different costumes will be enough to keep me looking forward to the drama 🤣

But... next year still feels so far away. I really hate waiting 😭

I think people shouldn't blame the director too much. A drama is a joint effort of a lot of people, not just the…
Agreed!! I still have some faith in the scriptwriter and the post-production editing team. Let’s wait and see!

From the start, I have felt that 100 days of filming and only 30 episodes seem far too short for this kind of story.
I have already seen some romantic scenes in the Reuters which is fine, romance is always nice to have but I am looking forward to the actual storyline much more than just a pure romance.

However, with this director....we cannot guarantee anything, so at this point, my faith in the drama rests entirely on the scriptwriter and the post-production editing team 😂

The excitement surrounding this drama seems to have faded since the director’s current drama came out 🤣 But it is still CZY’s drama, so there is no way I am going to miss it. Besides, we cannot really judge the quality before it actually airs. As long as it is watchable, that should already be good enough for us. It does not need to be exceptionally good, just watchable 🤣

I’ve kinda lost hope for Ao Chi and Sha Luo’s romantic scenes, so let’s move on to my favorite bromance:…
I saw their Reuters today and their scenes together already look quite interesting...

I also noticed a while ago that the actor playing Ao Chi’s guard during the Republican era was in Fated Hearts as well—he played one of the guards there too. I really liked him in FH, so I am glad he gets to work with Zheyuan again in this drama.

Can I ask why everyone is saying like this overdo director is same overdo is really really good not bad
I think it depends on the audience’s expectations. Viewers these days have much higher standards and often compare one drama with another.
When a drama falls short of what they expected, they may leave harsh or negative reviews, while other viewers can still enjoy it based on their own preferences and experiences.

Also, if the leads are their favorite, some people will probably keep watching anyway. My suggestion is not to rely too much on other people’s opinions or even the ratings. Watch it yourself first. If you enjoy it, just keep watching regardless of what anyone else says. If you do not like it, simply drop it. It is as easy as that.

But in my opinion, criticism from the audience is still necessary. Otherwise, production companies may continue making low-quality dramas if nobody gives them honest feedback. The criticism should not be biased or malicious but it should still be truthful and fair.

Just wait till they announce the day before it will air lol... Jokes aside hope they announce by late this week…
I am still wondering whether the dubbing has already been completed since CZY just mentioned it a few days ago. I am not really familiar with the whole process.

The drama should be fully dubbed before the distribution license is granted, right? Anyone can correct me but I assume the censors would need to review and approve the final completed version including dubbing. In that case....the whole process might take more than just one or two weeks.

I hope they get decent VA too.
Yes, yes, we should put all those negative things aside and just enjoy the drama 🙂
