BTW yes, if you search for strong female character of Xena type or whatever is its variation in chinese c-drama land, this is not it, she is... well, exact opposite. :D She is a calm river, very witty, wery strong in human sense. A glue of the group too, yes, I agree. She is the quiet wisdom and every character that want to be with her reflect and aplify that side of both in their dynamics. She is a very not-broken broken hero, if i can call it that? A weak hero even. Powerless even. And once you take her as that, it should click for you how incredibly POWERFUL she is. Like you know, the paradox? Broken, powerless, weak, but not stupid, not meaningless, not fragile even ... i do find her honestly interesting, and that they "chosen" her (based on ChatGTP :D) as "the main hero" of this series. TBH, i found her very interesting and that is something to say from someone who ships all the boys tgt and all the girls tgt, and in the canon, she basically stolen the most important man and oficially claimed him to be her official couple of the show.

I mean idk who that guy you mention even is but i guess it has a lot to do with what ppl wanted to see, which was based in wrongly crafted trailer - if lighthearted is his style, as you say. Plus i guess overall vampire series belong predominantly to dark genre, if you dont inted to make out of it a parody. But it seems yo already know that. I can say I will be dissapointed if it is only gonna be light, but i will judge it fairly base on what it delivers, not what not. But with all chinese series i am watching rn it would just not be fair to watch this, so i wait until i calm down, then i will start this. And i do know it is not gonna be the worst, so that is that.
