It will probably serve as a push for FL to recognize her feelings for ML. And for ML to realize FL really had no clue about his incident back then.

I put FH on pause to watch Love in the Clouds and When Destiny Brings the Demon (both great!) and forced myself to finish watching it (mostly on 1.5-2x speed). It totally didn’t get better and it’s one of few dramas I told friends to skip.
Have you watched Are You the One? It got excellent writing and storyline that expands from a local conflict to war(s) and empire-wide events (ignore MDL synopsis which is of questionable accuracy).

P.S. I loved that mom in TFF didn’t get a redemption. To me, what she has done is unforgivable. Probably THE worst mother in a drama 😡🤬

You are welcome! I notice you are watching Fated Hearts — personally, first 15-16 episodes were great but then original screenwriters got kidnapped and replaced by random trope generators (I gave it 7.5 = 9.0 for leads + 6.0 for everything else).
Have you watched Fireworks of My Heart? So much drama there (and a nomination for one of the worst C-drama parents, lol).

It’s closer to The Best Thing (multiple people mentioned it in the comments here). There’s some drama (like in TBT) but not a lot (not like TFF).

It’s really good so far. It’s slow-ish burn but it’s not super slow. For example, this is faster paced than Amonst a Snowstorm of Love. Maybe it’s slow for some people because there’s no huge drama/arguments; there’s some of that but it’s not super-mega intense. Monday-Wednesday we only have 1 episode per day. January 4 is when episodes 27-28 (SVIP) will be out.

It’s not really trope-y. Both leads are relatively rich (even though they don’t flaunt it). ML isn’t so much cold to FL, he’s kind of disappointed/puzzled because of a misunderstanding in ep. 1.
I suppose the main trope is 2ML that no one likes, lol

I don’t know what happens in the novel. Hes not likable now, but if he matures and improves his character, I wish him well.

You are welcome! “Amidst…” is my designated winter drama. A lot of it was shot in Finland 🇫🇮 so there’s a lot of real snow ❄️— they didn’t need to make fake snow like in most dramas. The drama is from the same author as “Love Me, Love My Voice” which is also a very nice drama — unlike many dramas, there’s really no stress/breakups/misunderstandings. Just heroes & their friends eating/cooking a lot of delicious foods, singing, and traveling (+food).

Put Your Head on My Shoulder would also be high on my list to recommend. But watch Netflix version if you can — I like Netflix subtitles better for that drama (watched Viki version later on). It was actually the first C-drama I watched — Netflix recon it to me and started watching without realizing it was a C-drama instead of K-drama :)

ZJM is very good indeed. If you like historical dramas, check her out in The Princess Royal. If you like slowburn dramas, check her out in Amidst a Snowstorm of Love (even more chill and stress-free than this drama). And there a 15-episode drama Reset that’s universally beloved (modern drama with time loop twist).

Did you rate TFF? I don’t see it on your list (which, I must say, is very close to my taste/rankings 😁).
BTW, I’d also suggest When I Fly Towards You. It’s from the same author as The First Frost and Hidden Love, but it’s a lot more chill, worry-free and feel-good. It’s also very short (24 half-hour episodes).

Need to hurry up and finish Fight for Love :) I like Victoria — her dramas are usually pretty chill and more adult-themed. I even liked the drama about porcelain making :)

No idea how FH is still at 8.7; perhaps, from strong early reviews which people didn’t change after dropping. Still watching Fight for Love but it got some hate/antifan pushback if I recall.
At the end, MDL ratings are only slightly more reliable than Viki ratings, lol

P.S. Sometimes it helps when dramas star lesser known stars and there’s no massive smear campaigns. “When Destiny Brings a Demon” is a great example from this year — the comments section was super nice and friendly (for the most part) 😁☺️

We haven’t seen that person in the drama yet although she has been mentioned multiple times.

This drama is based on the novel of a very talented (albeit, very slow!) writer Gu Man who is also a screenwriter here (she also wrote You Are My Glory among other dramas). I think people enjoy it because both leads are of about the same status (so not a typical idol drama plot) and ML isn’t really arrogant. He’s pretty much a nice guy (green flag) and only acts a bit weird in the beginning because of the misunderstanding that happened in Episode 1 (the accident occurred when he was on the way to meet FL but FL never visited him in a hospital and now completely doesn’t recognize him). But even though he acts a bit tough toward to FL, he is still protecting her but transferring her to his department and then working with her to bring down the bad manager.
