At least, boss + employee romance part is a bit more realistic. It’s usually not a good look to have a romance with a lower level employee because other employees will feel suspicious (like what we saw in the posted comments). In real life, Western companies even fire executives for relationships with lower level employees (although, they are publicly traded companies usually).

My bad, I double-checked and it was Bai Lu + Esther Yu that I was thinking about as being friends. I don’t pay much attention to toxic parts of the fandom but those people need to get a life. It’s good to root for your favorite but let other people be 🙄

If the writers wanted to make a drama about a mature couple, they should have looked at Love Scout and copied ideas from it.
