I agree with you. I certainly think that Korean, Japanese and Chinese bls are better produced and more polished. The have better camera work, editing and certainly much better acting. I also feel the script and story line in thai bls does not live up to expectations.

I think that thai bls are filmed on a tight budget and schedule with not enough editing time. And the actors have not studied drama, they are face cards. No way (there are exceptions) can thai acting be compared to the others who have spend years at some university studying drama.

I have not seen many chinese but Korean and Japanse do use awkwardness, and misunderstandings and miscommunications excessively as a major device plot.

The korean men are so pretty but yes, too much (if not most) is plastic.
As for korean actresses, I cant tell them apart because they all strive to have such similar "beaty features" and have used the same mould. When they all start looking the same, they stop being attractive - at least to me.

The thai male actors are more unique looking and I love that they accept the different types of beaty and attractiveness (just not skin colour as much). Unfortunately im also hearing that a lot of thai bl actors have got some sort of work done (and i dont just mean the veneers) but at least they have distinctive features.

Are you talking about Mio or JJay - his is so tall. I only just finished episode 1 so im not familiar. I wish this company made more gay themed bls because they make more mature shows and they have actors I want to see act.

Maybe you have a problem and need to conjure up scenarios that don't occur and see them in a manner you wish to protect your argument and thus your fragile ego. Or maybe you have less integrity then all of the characters and you just lie.

So according to you Jimmy is the only one with the most integrity, who never lies, never cheats and is treated unfairly. His behaviour is without reproach. Im not even going to argue. Enjoy your version of the show and your version of the truth.

I appreciate that you didn't rate or review based on your morals. We can touch on and agree that certain behaviours are wrong/evil. But then we can discuss the drama on merits such as the production, the acting, camerawork and how enjoyable the story was.

I agree that in this episode Tehs behaviour is particularly dishonest and he straight out lied to his friend. He lied when he was asked a very direct question.

You are the one who is judging and bringing up "moral" and judging them on your subjective morals. I am judging them simply on the transactional relationship they have with each other. I dont care that Jimmy is a fuckboy, but when he attempts to hide his hookup and is not be open about it, then he has broken the rules of that transactional relationship.

Jimmy did not tell Ran that he had a hookup. He lied and tried to hide the message. You can still cheat in an open relationship and Ran certainly saw it as cheating because Jimmy lied and broke the terms they had. Do you think that Run broke up because Jimmy had integrity?
Jimmy lied to Teh and is using Toh to hook up with Fah. He lied to Toh about Teh being interest in Fah. Does that not count as lying to you? Is

So why does Jimmy deserve honesty when he cant transact honestly?

If you think that Jimmy is being honest in his dealings with Toh (lied that Teh liked Fah) and with Run (tried to hide the hookup), then there is no point in discussing this further as your interpretation of reality is so subjective to even have a meaningful conversation of what transpired .

lol Unforgotten Night is a classic for all the reasons you stated and some more. It certainly made me realise where it was possible to set the bar for Thai bls.
I have been watching bls for a year and ( i confess i am a bit slow ) i realised that compared to the real classic above, they were all just ersatz dramas, but with a current emphasis on gmm green, some fluff, different pretty faces, and a bit more budget.

Now I am dropping a lot more dramas than I what I complete. But sometimes amongst the boredom of green I notice a red flag waving and I am compelled to investigate. Because red is becoming almost endangered Im prepared to sacrifice any pretence of "high" standards I may have.

I see you haven't watched many Thai bl shows then. I mean the concerns you raised are considered features of thai bl productions.

I think a lot of people get confused between fiction and reality. They lack morals and are easily influenced by watching dramas and obviously cant tell the difference between love and sexual assault or obsession. And that makes them want to tell us what to watch, how to think about it, and to preach morals.

I dont know why people think that I and others will get confused between consent and rape or sa after viewing a drama. Or that i will want to watch a drama to pick up lessons on morals, the legal definition of rape or the psychology of obsessive love.

Its totally hypocritical. I agree that their morals are so subjective. I think a lot of people get confused between fiction and reality and that makes them feel a strong need to tell us what to watch, how to think about it, and to preach morals. All because they have an inability to separate fantasy from reality.

I think you need to realise that their is a big difference between fiction and reality.
And we don't come to watch fiction to learn moral lessons, to understand what rape and sa is, or to tell the diff between true love and obsession. We come to experience a story. To escape.

Its fantasy and fiction and it will be packaged and interpreted by the viewer. Its sad that you have been so easily and negatively influenced and now believe that obsession is real love. I hope you can get some help to realise the difference between what is fantasy and reality.

Its much more fun to watch and analyse the red flags, and to try and understand the games they play.

If Fah and Teh just become a couple (after that 2nd episode) it would have been another boring fluffy GMM show. The fact that Fah is manipulating and playing games makes it more interesting. I want to know what the next move is.

And its amusing to see a playboy like Jimmy who is used to getting anybody he wants being totally ignored by Fah. I know that people think that Teh owed Jimmy some loyalty because of their friendship; But its not so straight forward. Jimmy is not being loyal either as he is manipulating Tehs brother, and Fah has rejected Jimmy's advances (so far).

***ALSO noticed that Teh lied to Jimmy. He could have been upfront about Fah when Jimmy asked him directly if anything happened.


Its fiction and no real people feelings were hurt by in the making of this toxic production. The show is to entertain and not to teach us morals. So enjoy.

I find the way the characters speak to each other very strange. Its the intonation with forced pitch sometimes. (for example episode 2 at about 15.40 mark). Im not very good at describing it. I have come across it in many bl dramas.

Is this a normal way of speaking, or is it to convey awkwardness or uneasiness or is it just in dramas?

If Jimmy was honest, and if it was an open relationship he would have told him he had a hookup when Run questioned him about the phone call. He was cheating.

They (run/jimmy) were dating and it was not just casual hookups. He had lied and got caught cheating in the past and it was not not acceptable under the terms they had and Jimmy knew that. If you are correct about your argument that they had an open relationship, Jimmy would have been honest about his hookups, and Run would not have walked away.


Using someone is relevant. It shows dishonesty. Why should Jimmy expect honesty and loyalty then when he does not reciprocate? You are using the "How dare you lie to me when i have been lying to you all along" argument to feel sorry for Jimmy. Jimmy chose the terms.

Just starting watching this. Im not saying its brilliant but it feels more sincere. I find the older Kdramas more interesting and engaging. Also nice seeing actors with natural skin colour and less plastic surgery. The faces are more interesting.

There are some good recent kdramas but the majority seem to be too formulaic with same tropes and cliches.

Dropping this for the time being. Enjoyed first 2 episodes then due to long delay i forgot what was happening and could not get back into it. So annoying.
Maybe will watch it when its finished.
