In the UK there is something called "the spirit of the law"You have these laws and they may not be as…
I understand and appreciate your objective which is that there should be NO consequences until there is an actual formal judgment. I dont disagree particularly in this situation.

Unfortunately, it seems that the Korean public has passed judgement based on the the NTS and on the facts circulating about how the company was used. They find those tax evasion/avoidance attempts distasteful.

The law isnt always about justice and fairness, but about evidance and technicalitis and a good legal team. Now out of curiosity, I wonder how the Korean public would view him if his legal team can achieve a positive outcome when they have knowledge of the facts presented and asusming they are correct (shell company, money distributed to avoid tax, run from eel restaurant, did not have staff etc).

You are a coward, an impotant little coward.
You have only projected and thrown baseless insults at me - and then scrubbed them away because you are not man enough to stand by what you said. You are as much of a loser as your president - dumb and he also thinks he has won.

I have only ever judged you by your words and your actions and i have not missed.

PS its always smart to have recipiets and i was kindof amused by your "what you though was clever" diatribe - which you were so ashamed apparently.

In my comment above, I explained a principle - and how its abuse could trigger an investigation. Nowhere did I mention anything relating to this actors actions or his accounting or that it's even applicable to hm.

You have gone out of your way to defend KSH when I have not accused him or insinuated any wrong doing. I am curious as why you are so vested, and seem to spend a lot of time addressing these posts and how you are so knowledgeable about Korean tax law

We discussed CEW a while back, and its I stumbled on this video from a Korean legal professional which you may find interesting (or at least he says he is on youtube).

Again I dont wish to see either of them cancelled - just to pay the fines if guilty and move on. It the Koreans who are seeing this as a major crime.

How is using the tax code to your benefit to save money "legally" on taxes such a scandalous thing? It…

You have these laws and they may not be as prescriptive but they are made with certain intentions. If you overstep, you are seen to be taking the piss and breaking the principle of law.

So say that you can have a company and use it to claim expenses in managing your career. But if that company is used more as a means to avoid tax then they have a reason to query.
They have auditing and statistical formulas that flag anomalies in the accounting and they would want to investigate further.

The unusual expenses and massive reduction in taxable income would trigger an investigation.

All the other actors in news about tax evasion were those who were given notice by tax department but Seonho isn't…
ignore etoks21 who is a impotent little troll. Poor guy, he lacks the intelligence and maturity to respond to arguments and points raised in comments. So he does what the next best thing and that is to hurl insults at your character.
I think he is your typical Trump supporter.

why aint nobody in korea paying taxes 🥀
ignore etoks21 who is a impotent little troll that can only hurl insults as he does not have the intelligence to respond to an argument or valid question. He resorts to throwing insults aimlessly due to his capped mental capacity instead of reason and logic. I think he is your typical Trump supporter.

"now it turns out it might not be totally legal after all."Based on WHAT, Knetz?
etoks21 is a impotent little troll that can only hurl insults. He does not have the intelligence to respond to an argument so he will retort by insulting your character.

" Knetz is a derogatory term used primarily by international K-pop fans to refer to Korean netizens, particularly those who are active online and known for sending malicious, often sexually charged or misogynistic comments toward celebrities."

I asked AI

"Cha Eun-woo is being investigated for both potential tax avoidance and tax evasion, and the distinction between the two is central to his case."

Anyway, I hope he has a positive outcome and can clear this up.

So am i misunderstanding?

I heard another actor was accused of tax avoidance and they paid up and disputed the amount later. It also didnt blow up like this
did. Correct me if i am wrong but I was under the assumption that he cant admit to these charges as it would be tantamount to admitting to tax evasion, and it would have other implications for him. That is why its serious for him.

An simple interpretation issue on tax, is not a serious matter.
If its an interpretation, then why didnt he just pay up and dispute the facts later and then get a tax refund. It would have been so much better for his image. He would not be getting this much hate and it would be less stressful for him.

This is actually one of the few comments here that recognizes how serious the situation is without turning it…
Its interesting to analyse the facts and issues and try make sense of the situation.
Most of the anger and moral judgments I have is for the delulu fans who are convinced they know korean tax law (better than korean tax dept), have knowledge of the facts, and are able to twist reality to suit their favoured interpretation - he is innocent.

Im not a hater (except towards his delulu fans) or a fan (dont know him) but i can feel some empathy. It is kind of sad that Korean society can be so judgmental and harsh. And they are more harsh on these issues then say sexual assault.

100% agree. Im getting impatient. I enjoy experiencing the universe but they take forever to get to the point and find myself getting bored.
