that is not the debate here. Its the fact that poor people are forced to pay taxes and share a heavier tax burden than the wealthy who have so many legal options to avoid tax. And its the unfairness when a wealthy person does not pay.
*Conspiracy theories* *not his fan*What if it’s not that he won’t pay, but he can’t pay? If his fund is…
That may be the case but usually the tax authorities (in other countries at least) will allow you to come up with a payment plan. Also he has had enough time to liquidate and sell off assets as this has been going on for over a year I bequiver, He could also get a bank loan and illiquid assets as collateral. 14mill is a lot of money to us, but he must have made over 35mill

Koreans are viciously attacking him. But I read a funny comment on Youtube by an angry Korean ( i dont speak language). "100 % genius looks and 100% fools brain. God is fair."
If its Division 4 then he is almost 99% guilty of the accusations SO why would he not plead guilty? So either: 1. he is particularly stupid and wants this issue to drag on OR 2. The option of paying up means admitting to tax evasion, triggering ethics clauses in brand deals. And possibly criminal charges.
Im only speculating but I think the second assumption is likely. I dont think he has a strong case with the eel paper company - and if he did then it would have been smarter to as you said "pay up" and dispute facts later. Unless that was not an option because he would need to admit guilt to evasion (not just an accounting error) and its a criminal offense.
I am very critical of tax evasion by the rich, but i kind of also feel sorry for him.
The smart thing to do was accept the fine and pay up, instead of dragging it out like this. BUT i dont think that was an available option for him. I think the issue is more serious and he is fighting to prove that it is not tax evasion, which carries more severe legal penalties than just a fine - criminal conviction or jail
Its a nightmare for him because there are would also be penalty clauses in his brand deals - if there was any wrong doing on his part.
Not a terrible person just a person with an addiction never hurt no one, only hurting himself, just needs help.
In June 2016, while serving in the military, he was accused of sexual assault by several women. His agency denied all allegations, and the following month, all charges against him were dropped by the police, and his lawyers counter-sued for defamation and blackmail. He won the case in January 2017, and all the persons who wrongfully accused him were sentenced to prison.
check your eyes, one of the best idol actors out there

rapist and a methhead lol he doesn't deserve another chance

This is misinformation. There is no criminal investigation. He did not evade taxes and he is not going to jail.…
He is disputing the NTS assessment. My understanding is that if he loses this dispute, it will mean that it was tax evasion and that is a criminal matter. It is serious.
And no, i dont hate him or want him to be cancelled for this matter. He was just dumb enough to not hire professionals to do it properly and he got caught. What annoys me is that its mainly the wealthy that can get away with tax evasion - i mean avoidance
What is unbelievable is that he is so wealthy but he didn't get advice from legal and accounting professionals who would have told him better ways to evade - i mean avoid paying a lot of tax. When you are dealing with millions you cant rely on your mother to manage your money. I don't know what he was thinking.
And he cant plead ignorance or blame it on others because he is a grown man and has ultimate responsibility for paying his taxes.
Paying taxes is a scam but I dont mind paying if I get services like healthcare and education. I dont want my tax money waisted, going to corrupt officials or paying to fund a genocide by israel in gaza. BUT if we should or should not pay taxes, well that is a totally different discussion and not relevant here.
EDIT: "etoks21 " stop being such a vile human being. If you dont agree with an opinion then debate the argument using facts instead of hurling personal insults. You have done that to me and many others here. If you cant debate then dont respond. PS thanks for blocking me. I m done with you now.
Its hard to tell colour by photos. I worked in southern europe and i saw some very very white skinned people turn very brown in summer. That was extreme. I usually go red and then gold but dont tan much..
I also like diversity. Koreans unfortunately have this beauty standard which doesn't make sense to me. I find Korean male actors good looking but I find the Korean woman (celebrities) have similar bland faces and they all generally look the same. I cant tell the difference between most of the Korean actresses. I also cant tell the difference between most female kpop idols in general. Also i dont like and listen to kpop and maybe that is why. I do listen to OST sometimes and their are some good songs.
Re the muscular hulks or the gym bros. They must be all gay. I say that because most women aren't attracted to that type - so they are not building up for women. I conclude that they must spend hours in the gym building muscle to be attractive and appeal to other gym bros. lol am I wrong?
The bls that i found funny were "Knock Knock Boys!" and "OMG! Vampire" I loved the character Latte in KKBoys. I dont think there was background laughter. " I Will Knock You" is also funny. The most beautiful count whihc i have not finished is funny as well - the actor Nut is good.
I found the antics in older bls mischievous and they would make me laugh. A lot of bl characters in older bls misbehaved in ways that would not be acceptable in todays puritan age. I found " Love by Chance" funny. Remember its fiction and not real life, where my judgment would differ.
The ethics of paying taxies and how much we should pay is different argument.I agree that our tax money is wasted…
I do know. I worked as an accountant in the big4. I also worked in private banking for high net work individuals. We had a dept that marketed tax avoidance products. I am aware that they use various legal schemes to avoid paying tax such as setting up companies and a trusts and offshore accounts. Do you know that some accountants can actually file on behalf of high net work individuals.
Any rational person would minimise taxes and they are very rational in how they structure their income and assets. And this may shock you but they dont hire accountants and lawyers so that they can pay their fair share of tax.
Even some millionaires/billionares have stated that the system is unfair. Buffett had said that he paid about 17% effective tax rate on his income, while his secretary paid 36% on hers.
Have you heard of the Panama papers. Obviously you have been sleeping when the offshore accounts were exposed. Go on I dare you to obtain some knowledge of what the wealthy do. Do you know how to use google?
Sorry to wound your ego and expose your ignorance, but try to educate yourself and get some knowledge how things work instead of arguing that these rich people are charitable and want to pay tax .
Honestly, governments are the stingy ones - I personally feel like the American IRS should be abolished. When…
The ethics of paying taxies and how much we should pay is different argument. I agree that our tax money is wasted and misspent on things that dont benefit society. I certainly dont want my money funding a genocide in Gaza because my politicians have been bought by israel. I dont want my money going to projects that benefit certain rich people or companies instead of welfare, education, healthcare. But that is not the issue here.
The issue is that billionaires/millionaires are not paying a fair share of taxes proportionate to their earnings when they can afford to. The burden falls to middle and working class who are struggling.

Happy to be corrected with facts as im deducing .

CEW does not deserve to be canceled for this.
And KSH has not been proven innocent. He is still very much in litigation
My understanding is that if he loses this dispute, it will mean that it was tax evasion and that is a criminal matter.
It is serious.

Also go and DEMAND the tax korean authorities to stop blaming and judging him. They are the ones responsible as they judged him for evading taxes.

You couldnt make it up.
Somebody should turn this into a comedy kdrama.
