I was interested in this series since the first trailer came out, then the cast started changing, since the last…
They stated that they intentionally went for the 2020 vibes.
I agree that a lot of things could have been done a lot of things better but I can overlook most of its faults if Im entertained. Unfortunately I think those things that disappoint are part of the show. One thing that annoys me is the irritating music - but that is most Thai productions.
Well, it's only ep. 2 and the toxicity, stereotypes and tropes are off the chart. LOL! Let's not forget the bad…
You are correct about the stereotypes and tropes but despite all that its still entertaining and I want to see more. I also think its cute and the show does not bore me. (So i forgive a lot)
Im really interested to understand what you found to be toxic. Is any conflict or a disagreement between characters described as toxicity? In real life people fight, cheat, breakup, etc. Should we not see all that type of behaviour in dramas? I think its more messy then toxic so far.
I can not wait for this flop to finally end.Khanin is loosing the competition Ava withdrew. What a mess.I really…
Its an embarrassing mess but I dont know if its a flop - financially speaking. I am so curious to know the viewing numbers and the financials.
It most certainly deserves to flop because its bad considering the money they have spent. If you are a NNZ fan then you would love this show. For most of us its boring. I dont care what happens next - except to breath a sigh of relief when it finally ends. The posts here have been amusing so i will miss these discussions.
Sorry to inform you but you have lost a lot of brain cells by watching most of the Thai bl dramas. Most of them…
Some of my favourites are also Thai - Between Us, My stand in and Only Friends. Currently there are a lot of good Thai productions especially some of the latest ones eg TopForm, Reset etc,
I think the problem with Thai bls is that they have a set budget which limits resources. And they produce a lot of quantity. Sometimes focus on quantity
aska, you are very articulate in pin-pointing my issues with people's complaints about toxic behavior in fiction.…
Thank you for understanding what im trying to say toxic behaviour (i have said a lot about it)
lol I admit to being a bit shallow re the good looking characters. But in all honesty I can overlook a lot in quality as long as I am being entertained. Sometimes the budget is not there and I can accept that.
I don’t know about others, but personally, even if things moved a bit fast, this is their best project so far…
You dont have to watch like a NYT critic - BUT you should be entertained and engaged by the drama you are watching. That is the ultimate criteria for a successful show to the viewer. This show is not doing that for a lot of people.
I don’t know about others, but personally, even if things moved a bit fast, this is their best project so far…
A high score is not given simply because its your "best" project. Sometimes what is your best is just not good enough.
A drama earns a high score by offering an engaging story, a good script, holding viewers interest and entertaining them at the very least. This does not achieve the above.
A lot of people here are disappointed in the show. Look at the comments being posted.
I don’t even think they did that good in terms of view and stuff, wonder how they’ll handle the money loss
I really dont know how they make money from these series - what the revenue breakdown is and the various sources of revenue. It would be so interesting to see a general analysis of a typical bl drama series - for an approximate breakdown of both the costs and the revenues
I dont know what targets they have to meet to earn forecast revenue. It would be interesting to see viewership numbers and to see what targets needed to be met so they can breakeven or make a profit.
I thought that this drama had high view numbers, high engagement and ratings (which are not justified in my opinion - and others). I believed that they are doing okay and they would have budgeted appropriated when they spent a fortune - ie looked at both costs and revenue. (so they can breakeven or profit)
Its a good ending. I like that its left to interpretation.
In my interpretation, it was real for both of them at that time, but reality/maturity kicked in for Jae Ha, and they went their separate ways. Would it have have been sustainable if they stayed together - I dont know once the initial sparks of romance settle. Was it circumstantial - you can say that about most relationships. Acting was good.
I agree. I dont know why a story about flawed characters fearing intimacy makes people hysterical over here.
Its absurd if you think about it.
The thing is in real life people (we all are) are flawed and dont behave well a lot of the time - we behave emotionally, immaturely, dishonestly. Bad behaviour is almost normalised and accepted in the real world. (Can give so many examples). So why cant we accept flawed imperfect characters in dramas and try to understand them. Why are people freaking out here.
I'm the opposite. If its FICTION I accept and embrace flawed, messy, toxic, evil, as long as the character is interesting and entertaining and even educational. In real life, i have or try to have higher standards in acceptable behaviour (for myself and others).

I dont understand why they feel the need to put girls in bls AND then to make them so annoying and irritating.
lol also 100% agree about the other bl show that I cant wait until it ends so I can be put out of my misery.

I see the score has dropped down to an 8 now.

I wonder if someone could shed light.......
edit - some grammar

I may revisit noir when i am braver.
