In return I would also like to recommend "Love in the big city". Its korean but its more LGBT than bl, and its one of my favourite because its written from the heart, and the acting is on another level. I would like to see more thai bls coming from that place (even if they are bl entertainment ).

PS What I meant was that some of us have watched a lot more bls. When you have watched over 150 THAI bls with the same tropes you will understand where I am coming from. Im not talking about more smut. I will leave it at that.

OF didnt feel like a GMM production to me. And NOT everyone got the predictable happy ending. Maybe if I rewatch it I will change my opinion - but I was blown away because it wasn't the typical bl offering.

This version has the GMM bl touch all the way through and its delivering for their audience. But some of us are more mature because we have seen so many bls that now we want more depth in storytelling, script, drama, and acting - and not just another fluffy bl couple centric drama.

If this was more adult it may not be as popular or well liked by many here. Im not intending to bring this one down. Its just opinions.

I like some of the actors especially Rome and Raffy. I would love to see them act in more toxic character roles in the future. They are delivering.

I am really impressed with the Chinese and their culture - especially the more i learn. lol and I have also learned a lot from cdramas.
In the west we have not been taught much about east Asian history or appreciation of other civilizations. Im not british but generalising and speaking from my experience.

Im not saying that China is perfect, but I am glad that it is becoming powerful again- taking back their position. Hopefully enough to challenge the west who have stolen, exploited for greed and continue to destroy to stay in power - especially when they cant compete.

GMM took the original (which was raw and messy with real characters) and made a bl version for children.

This season will please more gmm tv bl fans. GMM certainly knows their bl market and delivers for them. But it does not mean it is better. This one is like fast food, its more popular but it lacks flavour. Its toned down for the kids

The other one was the grown up version.

I find Chinese actresses so attractive mainly because they still have more variety in their looks despite their preference for certain features ass you mentioned. Its a pity to disregard the beauty of those that dont meet those defined racial standards. Its like wasting a natural human resource.

My impression is that China has developed so fast economically and technologically in so few years, and maybe it is taking longer for society/ culture to became more aware and educated of these "softer" issues. It takes longer to change perceptions in any country.
And maybe different regions/ethnicities need to fight for more representation in media and films. And even pass laws if necessary to encourage change.

Its taken us in the west centuries to become more open minded - its a process.

They are both good looking - there are so many different types of looks /beauty so just having one standard makes that look boring / common really fast.

It also doesnt also do good to the psyche of the population when the majority of the population doesnt fit into that standard and are made to feel inferior. They are promoting their own self discrimination in a way.

Kind of like the korean celebrities where they all look the same to me (same plastic surgery). They meet the beauty standard with their perfect features but have lost the originality of their looks and sometimes the perfect features dont add up and add synergy to the look (dont make person look more beautiful - just perfectly bland.

Indians are not discriminated in the UK. But Indians do a lot of discriminating amongst themselves with their caste system. So why cant a Brit (or anyone) comment on looking like an Indian/German/ Italian or any other nationality and saying its a bad photo? Saying a picture makes you look bad and Mexican is not the same thing as saying that looking Mexican is a bad thing. And as a European, I would think looking Mexican is better than a fat racist redneck american - but a stupid american may not realise that. Your racism is not my racism. An african does not perceive many issues the same way as an american black who experienced slavery does.

BUT it was good. Its a bit different from your typical bl story which is what I liked about it. And it did not have the usual bl tropes - or not that i noticed.

If they are discussing the unflattering drawing that makes him look southeast asian then it changes things and it comes across as racist.

EDIT But i can still say a drawing makes me look French/African etc - but its unflattering - and its not necessarily racist.

If they said its unflattering because its southeast asian looking then definitely racist.

So looking southeast asian is insulting then. And that if you told people your picture makes you look southeastern asian its offensive.

I watch Thai bl.

Thai bl actors have had plastic lots of surgery to look "less" Thai. A lot of the good looking actors are of Chinese ethnicity. Very few bl actors represent their ethnicity and its a big problem. They chose the white looking actors. (as an observer its a problem in all asia - even China)
