saw some comments about the ending which I find interesting, not sure if it’s true tho.

“In the script, the scene of catching fish is the male lead's dream after being injured and unconscious. The doll was carved by him before his death, and the ending is a bad ending (BE). Moreover, in the extra chapter, all the deceased characters come back to life, like Zhang and Xiao Liu, so the extra chapter is also a kind of beautiful fantasy.”

“It seems there are two scripts.
The leaked one has a BE ending, the one being filmed now has an OE ending, and the extra chapter is an imagined HE.”

Omgomg YESS!! there is actually a page on MDL for Zhao hun but there’s only 12 viewers lol. seriously underrated, I loved it too!!

I think I recc on Zhao hun’s page that Deng Kai, He Yu or Li Yunrui could play XHS but I feel like there might be someone even more suitable, I just can’t put my finger on who yet.

do u hav any fav cnovels u would recc?? :))

ooooh!! now that you mention it, I can also see Yan an as Pei Yuning (but I’m struggling to visualise his hair bc I have his styling in where the masks ends stuck in my head lol)

my personal theory on the ending based off todays filming is that the main story is a tragic ending. edit: actually this might just be OE which would be pretty faithful to the novel.

it feels kinda hazy. a bit light but with a sad undertone. looks as though Nanyi is seeing Xie Queshan again. he’s so close yet so far. just a bit out of reach… it’s both an ending and a farewell.

I might be in the minority but I’m quite satisfied with this ending (if this ends up in the Final Cut). I cried my eyes out when I read the novel a year ago, and though the drama has made changes I still feel like the journey was meaningful, and this ending would be realistic. (they better include the happy side story 🥺)

OMG, this part is so much more beautiful than I imagined! I always thought it was just a simple boat, but it’s actually decorated so beautifully! I saw some comments saying that its just going to be the two of them making a marital pact, with no relatives or audience, only each other 😭❤️

I only remember the first one in the book ... but my memory is not the best. lol
yepp you’re right, the novel only had the first one. the drama added the fake wedding with ZYH but I’m not sure if XQS and Nanyi will have a wedding in the drama, but they are married cos she did say “my husband Xie Queshan did not betray the country!” I hope they have a ceremony 🥺I want to see them dressed up!!
