the FL’s childhood was quite painful. her dad was an alcoholic and a gambler. he was in so much debt that he wanted his wife to give herself to the debt collectors. she was in so much despair that she suicided. without the mum to protect the FL, the dad started hitting her. one day she couldn’t take it and asked the ML to protect her. the ML and his mum took her in, and that was the happiest time of her life. the ML and his mum also had their own backstories. by the end of the novel a couple characters die, are injured or in an accident.
the whole novel was written in first point of view through the FL’s perspective, so it was so sad reading her thoughts.
there was a lot of love, sacrifice and my tears 😂
