First impressions - feels like a Lights On production even though it's on Youku (im slightly ashamed i can tell the difference between Iqiyi and Youku now), which also means the soundtrack is all over the place on audiophile speakers. Probably designed moreso for YT although YT version hits 2k with 1080p resolution by eye. Sigh - the plot is interesting, but the production level is really noticeable after the swarm of full fledged 4k ones we've had lately on all platforms. Also, either they're trying to give others more screentime in the first episodes or HJJ is again relegated to 1/3 lead role via editing. Edit: i just realised who the director is, no wonder by ep3 im like, this is TVB version. 😅
Finished it finally - I actually really enjoyed the pacing in the last 10 episodes, it wasnt just plot point after plot point and they finally had time to address their own issues. There was a point where I thought I'd drop it but it really redeemed itself towards the end. 10/10
Good luck, you'll probably end up like the rest of us, and watch the ones before and the ones after.. and before you know it, you'll realise you spent years of your life on aliens. 🤣
I just realised there's a whole backlog of similar Hanson dramas that are unlisted here after the Secrets of Haunted Manor trailer...whoa. It's apparently his speciality. Time to start binging all things Ba Ye hehe.
Just started, now I know HTT probably wants everyone to think she's an adult but THIS is the type of show she shines in, and frankly would do more for her career at this stage.
I like how he sits. It fits his character. And you would be able to observe that it would eventually change.
I know, but I hate how he makes it a thing in almost every show I've watched. Like no one climbs onto arms of chairs before sitting except monkeys man.
Genuinely surprised but this series is growing on me... it's not Legend of Zang Hai level unhinged, but sometimes it gets close. As for DYX, I still like his acting but he needs to step up to something different... like does he actually "sit" (sit is being a bit generous) like that in real life or has he just never got rid of the White Cat persona? The directing and scripts are saving it for now though, and the story is interesting because it does change and adjust itself along the way - it's spiralling a little bit the last few eps, so hopefully it doesn't turn into an uncomprehensive heap before the end.
