They are going a good job because he infuriates me every time he steps on screen. How delusional can you be. Does he really think he has a shot with her at this point. He and Yake live in their own little bubble.

They will unite in ep 20. Of course on the week we go to one episode a day.

I hate when the shows go to one episode. Now we get left with that lively cliffhanger from today’s episode.

I just love all the little biddies gossiping right in front of each other. That social life would exhaust me. And Yake is so out of her depth. Tingyun keeps putting her in her place and she keeps coming back for more. Tingyun has to be careful though. Yake might do something desperate and try to harm her if she keeps making her look bad in front of Madam Yu. Although, Mafam Yu is purposely making Yake look small. On another note, why the hell was Jingxiu looking at Tingyun like a school boy in love. This part of the story is starting to piss me off. He wasn’t even into her at first. Now he’s making eyes like he was in love with her all along. Just thinking about it makes me want to scream.

Yeah, I try to not to let the teasers get to me because they are out of context. But doesn’t he know by now, that woman will walk through fire with him.

Oh no. I can’t take one episode a day. Why? I’m betting that wedding episode will be this week. Crossing fingers.

Basically he had been embezzling money meant for military use. People who embezzle tend to try and launder that money through legitimate areas like real estate purchases and then flip it into clean money. In this case he forged a deed to property claiming it was a 20 year old purchase to hide that it was a recent purchase using money he embezzled from the military. All Zhao was doing was trying to get him on something to coerce him into giving up the names of co-conspirators. Having the forged document was enough to get him to start snitching. Zhao is basically running a RICO operation.

I don’t think we have been talking enough about how good this soundtrack has been.

Yep. I’m guessing he’s supposed to be around 18 or 19 at this point. I assumed he was a 13 year old before the five year jump.

Yeah, General Wang was looking for anyway to exonerate him since he knew it was a set up from the beginning. He told Zhao to just find a way of this mess. They were not going to scrutinize this in the middle of a war. And to be honest I didnt think the falsified evidence against them was that strong to begin with. If anything him executing Lu Du was a crime that could be made to stick.

He can’t conceive of the possibility that someone who is from nobility would want to continue living like Zhao and Tingyun are living at the moment. And remember that she was set to marry him in the beginning. So he acts like he’s rescuing her from her plight. He doesn’t realize that she’s not as morally bankrupt as him.

I don’t really think it matters. He already has a decree from the emperor that allows him to go after those above him.

This is why I thought the grandmother got off too easy. She deserved much worse than dying in her bed. But that’s life. All villains don’t get what they deserve in life and we have to live with that. She drove Zuo insane and was willing to kill the granddaughter she raised for the sake of the family reputation. So, even though I don’t feel sad for Zuo’s death, I understand her torment and why she became the person she became. She’s the least villainous of the villains.

I just took a look. A Sen is definitely in the window. Also, who else could it be since she’s an unmarried woman? Plus the two men had the same uniform on. I don’t think ASen has joined his unit yet.

The two guys who talked to him were those two guys who always followed them. It looked liked the adult version of the kid. Plus the way he hesitated when he saw him was a giveaway.

We are at the halfway point and I can only hope that the last 18 episodes are as good as these first 18. Amazing job so far to all involved in this production.

Ok, we are talking about the same person. I thought his name was Sheng. I am curious to see how he resolve their differences. He’s obviously still upset based on how he closed the shutters without even a wave. He’s older now and definitely should have more understanding. I can tell you out of experience, trying to understand a teen is difficult. And their reasoning feels alien. It takes patience.

They did such a great job introducing the Yake character. I was fooled by the pure and innocent beauty. I was even thinking she was the FL because I went into the series with no information. I have actually started rewatching some of the earlier episodes to tide me over to new episodes and the stark contrast from a pure best friend to rotten to the core enemy is stark. You wonder how Tingyun didn’t realize these traits in her childhood best friend.

Are you taking about Sheng? He’s just a kid (not anymore) who looks up to Zhao as his big brother or father figure. Being disappointed in parental figures is common. If that’s the worst of his faults compared to most of these people then I’m fine with that. If anything he has learned well from Zhao about being honorable. Hope to see them reconcile soon.

She is by far one of the most awful people on this show. Her and Jingxiu deserve each other. She has totally deluded herself. Her little made up story and way she talked to Tingyun pissed me off.
