In this drama, it reads more like a riddle than a statement, as pretty much eweryone seeem to be obsessed with her.

Imagine dropping a guy or just taking a step back when you learnt he is a manipulative and lying PoS.
Then, someone else rescues you from the fire, and when you wake up, instead of your maids, you see your ex sitting next to your bed; officially trying to feed you medicine, but in reality threatening you that he can get to you any time he wants.
Then, you go on a mission to save your friend; he tags along to "support you", while telling you he knows your best friend's secret.
What a lowey-dowey guy, lol.
I know a "handsome ML plot armour" was strong in this one, but let's call it like it is.
In real life, you would be asking for a restraining order instead of dreaming about somebody like him.

Calling Wang Chu Ran "cute" is an understatement of the century :).

She is very sweet in "Are You the One?", at least until she puts a hairpin in someone's neck :).
She also looks outrageously beautiful there.

Another one thinking having an obsessed stalker in real life would be fun. Lol.

Whoa, a rare female-centric drama without romance; maybe I will give it a shot after finishing "Killing My Sins".

I really enjoyed Ep 1, maybe I will give it a shot.
There are some camera angles when the female lead looks outrageously beautiful.

It's the 2nd post about this phenomenon (the ML in Blossom of Power was also an obsessed/pestering type...) I see it on MDL during the last 24 hours.
It's probably too much summer heat bringing a rare common-sense opinion to MDL.

I'm sure you would love to order some highly ranked online service, which would be mid at best in reality, just because people have personal preferences and can rate it however they want to push up its rating.

LOL, BoP got like 6.3 at Douban, which means it's a slightly above-average show. Which is more or less correct.

Here, at MDL, it constantly feels like when playing NBA 2k series, where any player who can dribble gets a rating of 90+.
And it's getting worse every year, both with MDL and NBA2K; I guess it's not accidental.

Btw, after reading synopsis I had some hopes for this one, but they were lowered quickly by watching Trailer and now they got trashed further by bringing The Double.

Pursuit of Jade here is higher rated than NiF, while Prisoner of Beauty, The Double, Romance of the Female Soldier and other mid-trash equals Story of Minglan in ranking and are called masterpieces left and right, etc....

And to think I actually agree with him/her in principle (on BoP and other similar shows), but 6,5 for Nirvana in Fire is inexcusable. Especially for someone who is all about "Douban this" and "Douban that".

Well, "my" novel has the female lead running the whole show and people joining her because they believe she will succeed and bring them up along on her way; she is firm, calculating and smart, way above "BoP" lady level (and doesn't need to sniff things like a dog to achieve it), just MOSTLY does it without bitchy exterior; she definitely feels more approachable.

To be fair, she had some decent deductions (at least in the episodes I've watched), but as always, the supposedly smart female lead was there only to make ML look smarter, more cunning, brilliant, etc...
The same generic stuff as always.
