Is this based on historical events? The synopsis makes it seem so.

So judging by the trailers and the synopsis, there’s going to be a major love triangle? From the trailer I got confused wondering if the main romance is between her and CZY or her and the other guy 😅

I think a lot of the older xianxia dramas have this theme. As the other commenter said- “Moonlight Mystique” is good. You may also like “When Destiny Brings the Demon”. There’s a liiiiiiiiiiiittle bit of secret-keeping, but as someone who generally hates lying and secret keeping it didn’t bother me. “Legend of Shen Li” is one of my favorites, but again, there is some “noble” secret keeping. I am only on episode 8 of “Love and Destiny” one and am liking it so far. We will see how I feel about it later on.

Can someone point me in the direction of the special episodes?

People could also be ignoring the drama because the main actress was 16/17 when it was being filmed.

Cool, this solidified my decision not to watch this one. I’m looking for dramas with equally developed leads and am tired of dramas where the MLs carry the romance and the FL remains distant and cold for most of the drama. I don’t mind it when one of the leads chases, because romance has to start somewhere, but it seems that most of the dramas made in the last couple years really push the lost puppy ML trope.

Gotcha. I think it started making more sense to me after episode 23. I see where she’s coming from now and am glad she moved out. The beginning of episode 24 is also making it more clear. Thanks!

This is not a post intended to feed dislike for the FL, and I actually want to hear the thoughts of those who like her.

I just finished episode 22 and am genuinely feeling a little confused about what the FL wants from the ML? At the end of the episode she was reflecting on all of the times he saved her life (and putting himself in danger in the process). I understand that she wants him to be safe as well, and I think I also understand she doesn’t want him to be risking his life for hers? But… what would she rather him do instead? Let her drown? Let her be beaten by a bunch of thugs? I’m a little confused as to what she actually wants from him.

Do we know what kind of ending this one has?

So I have been on the fence about this drama because I’m really tired of the direction that most of the new historical Cdrama romances are going with the Girl Boss energy and a beta / sidelined / underdeveloped ML (i.e. “Pursuit of Jade” and “Love Beyond the Grave”). I’m not here to argue about it, but what do you guys think about this one now that several episodes are out?

I have absolutely no problem with OP FLs (“Fated Hearts” and “The Legend of Shen Li” are a couple of my faves), but I also like balance and don’t see why it either has to be one or the other. Does the ML get developed in this one alongside the FL? Is his story / plot getting adequate screen time and some focus as well? I know that people have been saying that he’s incredibly powerful, but is it more of a “tell, not show” situation like in PoJ where we never see it (at least not in the second half)?

I’m open to hearing opinions about this drama, and again, I’m not gonna respond to hateful comments - just because I say that I am looking for developed and well-rounded MLs doesn’t equal me being prejudiced against women.

I totally agree with the discomfort at the age gap, but HMH signed the contract BEFORE the FL was cast. He’s not to blame.
