It makes me so nervous because this dialogue happens before she hits him 🫣 So things are only going to escalate…
Oh I welcome spoilers when it’s angst. I like to be prepared 😅 It’s very hard for me to sit in the middle of romance angst and wait for the next episodes to drop.
EDIT okay so is the one you just posted from episode 27?
Originally, I was going to write this as a separate comment, but since someone else already wrote it, I’m just…
I do agree with this, and I also see that in ancient times a general’s role was not to be in the fight on the front lines. Their primary job was to strategize, plan and give quick orders as the battles develop. So like in TPoB Wei Shao spent a lot of time in the tent responding to reports and making snap military decisions instead of doing the fighting. While I would LOVE to see XZ in some epic fight scenes, I would also be happy if he got to shine in the political realm with the scheming and playing chess (and maybe stabbing a few people in the process lol).
https://v.douyin.com/2amimFlFnHw/HOW DOES PEOPLE SEE THIS ALREADY ?!it’s not in the trailers ?!anyways I’m…
It makes me so nervous because this dialogue happens before she hits him 🫣 So things are only going to escalate until there’s a blow out. AAAAA but it’s nice seeing an actual fight in which there is YELLING (I’m weird)
I second The Prisoner of Beauty, as it’s my all time fave. But if one of the draws you like about Pursuit of Jade is having a FL who is trained in the martial arts then I recommend Fated Hearts. 😊
But I think we can say the battle would have gone better objectively if XZ had been there. As it is, they were…
Mmm yeah I totally see what you’re saying, and I think I said that there wasn’t a guarantee that the outcome would have been the same if XZ joined the battle instead. At any rate, my point was that if people are going to blame XZ for FCY’s decision then the logic also follows that XZ is to blame for the battle’s victorious outcome BECAUSE he lied to her. People are blaming the Marquis for something that he couldn’t have predicted would happen as a result of his well-intentioned dishonesty, so let’s just follow that logic to its end (that he is also the one to blame for winning the battle because his lie caused FCY to go in his place). It doesn’t make sense.
To your other statements, though, yes absolutely! He should have been there 😂The army probably did suffer in his absence. But he could not have predicted that his dishonesty would lead to his wife going to the extreme of drugging him to join the battle on his behalf. In hindsight should he have revealed his identity? Oh 💯 yes. But hindsight is always 20/20. In the heat of the moment people do the best that they can with the information that they have, and without certainty of the outcome. If XZ knew that his lie would be a major factor into FCY’s determination to fight in his place, I totally believe he would have done things differently. He just didn’t know.
It’s interesting to me when I hear people blaming XZ for FCY’s choice because they’re giving XZ the credit for her decision and basically robbing her of her own free will and personal responsibility. Following that logic, then, XZ should be getting the credit for killing the general. If he HAD been honest, she wouldn’t have gone to battle, and therefore the general may not have been defeated. Hell, they might have even lost the battle. So if XZ is solely the one to blame for her decision to join the battle on his behalf then he is, by that logic, also the one responsible for the victory. It means that they won the battle BECAUSE he lied to her. It logic doesn’t make sense and how disempowering is that for our girl? FCY made her own choice to go to battle on his behalf. SHE gets credit for her decision, not him and his dishonesty. Yes, her anger and hurt makes total sense. I would be PISSED as well. But to completely blame someone else for a choice that I made? I don’t buy it.
100%, I agree. He tells her that the injuries are not so bad and that she doesn't need to worry, but she fusses…
I was actually thinking about this as well. She has had many first-hand experiences of what this man is capable of. She has seen him fight, see him almost take down like 15 men in the woods while very injured. She was with him on the city walls when he was masked and kicking ass. So I mean, while it is very sweet that she wants to take care of him, she also needs to recognize that his man is capable.
This is my only gripe also with this show so far he is supposed to be an amazing warrior but the drama has barley…
I think he has a brief period when they split for the first time when he was recovered. I believe that he got re-injured rescuing Changning and that’s what he is recovering from now. Still, overall you’re not wrong.
Amazing episode the fight scenes were really good and the lie will finally be gone tomorrow so we can move on…
Yeah. :/ 💯Agreed. I know we are going to be getting into the capital arc where the politics come into play, so at LEAST let him have his time to shine with the cunning and chess playing. Generals are generals because they can plot and strategize, not necessarily because they are the best fighters. So if the director insists on not letting XZ have stellar fight scenes then at least showcase his intelligence and cunning.
