It’s OK to say that if FCY knew that he was the Marquis she wouldn’t have made that decision, but it’s not OK to say that if XZ knew she would do this then he would have handled the secret differently? 🤦🏼‍♀️ People are determined to make XZ the bad guy, but the double standard maaan…

I expect FCY to do exactly what she did! I am saying that BOTH parties played a role in her going into battle. It is NOT solely XZ’s fault! He did not FORCE FCY to make the choice that she did 🙄 SHE CHOSE THAT HERSELF. She could have chosen to let him go to battle. Hell, she could have even chosen to sneak into the battle herself with him and try to protect him on the battlefield. What did I expect? Literally for her to do exactly what she did 😂Why does me saying that FCY made her own autonomous choice and is responsible for it translate to me suggesting that XZ is without any fault? 😂 I never said that! BOTH PARTIES contributed to it.

The other fault in your logic is that you are blaming XZ for something that he could not have predicted would happen. Hindsight is always 20/20, and it is NOT fair to blame someone for something they did before they knew what the consequences would be. That’s called the Hindsight Bias. XZ could not have predicted that his wife would drug him, especially after she told him she would follow the military rules. It’s not fair to push all of the fault on him - if he had known that FCY was going to drug him and go to war then he probably would have handled his secret differently. You’re not being fair.

Was his secret a contributing factor to what she chose to do, absolutely. Does her decision make sense given that she didn’t know? YES! Did she also do something rash that had the potential for a bad outcome? ALSO YES. Her decisions are HER OWN. His decisions are his own. The world is not black and white and there is so much nuance in situations like this.

It also makes me want to ask, then - is XZ also responsible for all of FCY’s choices in the first 16 episodes, then? She was still in the dark about when she chose to marry him. She was in the dark during the trial about her uncle’s death. Is XZ responsible for all of those choices, too? Your logic would say yes. Talk about disempowering Changyu and reducing her autonomy to being XZ’s fault.

The fault falls on BOTH, not just XZ. Yes he should have told her, yes if he had she probably wouldn’t have taken his place. And also at the same time, FCY broke the rules and chose to drug her spouse. XZ did not force her hand to put the candy in his mouth, that choice was 💯 hers. I’m so tired of people pushing the entirety of the blame on XZ instead of seeing that BOTH characters are responsible for their own fecking behaviors. That’s personal responsibility.

Others have said that he is a LOT more affectionate in the dram than in the novel, so it sounds like you’re right.

They didn’t show XZ at all. I mean it’s pretty clear at this point that the directors don’t care about giving XZ his moments shine. He shows up right after FCY kills the general.

Honestly people are giving XZ too much hate for it and not enough understanding. To me, this reasoning makes perfect sense. Yes I get why she would be hurt, but I am also hoping she gets it. He’s a general with thousands of lives in his hands and has to make incredibly difficult decisions every single day.

Valid point. I think in the novel she undergoes a lot of training, so maybe she learns the strategy aspect of it. Your point makes sense.

Oh yeah for sure! I just don’t see why it either has to be FCY or XZ, and why it can’t be both of them shining a lot like in FH. I am sure they could have cut some side stuff a little to extend the battle when XZ rescued Changning or when he took out that stronghold after leaving the village. Or even yesterday when they completely cut his fight after the FL’s plan got botched. Stuff like that makes it feel uneven.

I feel the same. ALL of XZ’s fight scenes have gotten cut incredibly short or cut out completely and the drama is feeling a bit unbalanced. XZ has not done much on screen in the drama and it does not feel balanced like Fated Hearts did. :/ I really hope they let him actually shine more in the last part of the drama 🤞🏻

It’ll be nice if they don’t drag out the second separation tbh. We are coming up to the last stretch of the drama and I’d like to maximize the main couples time together 😅

I watched the teaser and I’m weirdly excited about the fact that they are actually yelling at each other 🔥Lots of emotion and passion 🥵

We kinda saw some of the editing issues with this episode, unfortunately. I’m super bummed that we got yet ANOTHER fighting scene with XZ cut from the drama 😞I really hope this won’t be the norm in the last part of the drama. All of XZ’s battle scenes have either gotten cut really short or cut out completely :/ And we know tomorrow he won’t be doing any fighting either. It’s not enough to lower my rating from a 10 yet, but I think that XY’s lack of badassery and fight scenes are starting to… well, I’m starting to really notice it. ☹️He is supposedly this badass, ruthless Marquis in battle and I really want some more screen time dedicated to showing it.

I haven’t decided yet. I might wait until Friday to watch because I think they are going to be reconciled by Friday’s episode 😬 But then again… I do lack self control soooo
