The biggest issue of this couple is definitely miscommunication. GJZ doesn't tell a thing to CYY, neither her…
I like that you pointed out the disparity, because I didn’t see it until you mentioned it. He does tell her a LOT of his vulnerable secrets, but she’s more guarded with him. I don’t think she really talked to HIM about Ye Xian and what all went down after YX found out they were engaged, and now she’s not talking to him about the nephew. This is a good point. I do get why she would struggle in that area, though, as her family sucked and she had to become independent quickly. Her dad also screwed her up and left her pretty jaded.
I wouldn’t say that the plot of this drama is meaty and as well developed as TSoML. I think to most viewers…
So with me the romance has to be at the forefront of dramas, so we are different in that regard ☺️JoL just didn’t have enough romance for me and I Iost interest about 60% of the way through it. Nothing against the drama, but I just like romance. That’s why I wasn’t crazy about The Double or The Rebel Princess - the romance was a bit too much in the background for my personal taste.
Fl is clearly in the wrong here bro it's a historical drama a time where girls shouldn't get too involved with…
I agree. From a cultural standpoint it’s a huge deal for a woman to a) meet a man alone who is not her spouse and b) any sort of prior romantic feelings before marriage are to be a tightly kept secret lest people outside the family should spread gossip. Everything about Jinzhao, Ye Xian and the nephew’s interactions after her engagement to CYY was wildly inappropriate from a cultural standpoint. JZ should have told her husband about it. And I can see how CYY would really struggle with processing all of this - First there was Ye Xian and his inappropriate behavior to JZ, and now the nephew. I can see CYY feeling humiliated, especially after telling his nephew that he and JZ fell for each other almost at first sight.
I am thinking of “The Prisoner of Beauty” when Wei Shao discovered that his brother had a crush on his wife - even though NOTHING happened between the two (and his wife didn’t even know his brother liked her), Wei Shao completely lost his SH*T. It’s a big deal.
I'm trying to decide if I should watch this or not. I loved Story of Minglan. I don't mind romance but I much…
I wouldn’t say that the plot of this drama is meaty and as well developed as TSoML. I think to most viewers the main romance is the biggest draw. If you care more about plot and character development than romance, I would probably pass on this one.
I find it so ironically funny that in typical Cdrama that it’s the women in the in law family that give FL a…
He may also not be aware of the timeline of all this, and is perhaps fearing she was chasing his nephew close to when CYY was courting her. Perhaps he fears that she only married him as a Plan B - not realizing that the nephew’s ship sailed quite a while before CYY was on her radar.
People are here already calling ML a bad husband because he will get jealous when he learns about GJZ former crush…
Agreed. I imagine there’s also the cultural component of feeling humiliated to discover that a male relative has romantic feelings for your wife and has been acting inappropriately. It happens a lot in historical cdramas. Stuff like this can negatively impact a person’s reputation, the reputation of the family, etc. It is definitely a lot for him to take in and process - and practically on the heels of YX acting totally inappropriate with her as well.
If I manifest it to be released on the rumored date of June 9th then it WILL happen 🤣😭 Looks like they’re starting to promote the drama though. 🤞🏻!Outside of Mo Li I have no idea where I’m going next :| It’s been kind of a lull in the drama department.
Honestly, after all the 💩that just happened with his brother, CYY is probably just 💯over his younger, psychopathic male relatives who do crazy sh*t 😂. That man has GOT to have a limit 😂
this girl 🤦gave him divorce paper so easily.just because he was angry and jealous???
Yeah, we are piecing together entire storylines based off of two minutes of previews. But we will see how it all unfolds. I won’t be bothered if it was all jealousy on CYY’s part, and I also see how her keeping it all a secret would feed into his insecurities. Either way, we do know that they work it out by the end of 34.

I believe there’s more to the story than what we are seeing in the previews. I wonder if CYY’s enemies are figuring out that they can use his wife against him, and part of it is that he’s distancing himself in order to protect her. I also wonder, a bit less so seeing how upset he was about getting the divorce papers, if it’s all a scheme the leads put together. I dunno, I’m gonna hang tight and watch. Oftentimes the previews are misleading. It seems a bit out of character that CYY would push her away to the extreme out of jealousy, but again, perhaps there is more to the story.
Even if it is as it looks in the previews, though, JZ has always been afraid of marriage after what she experienced with her dad and her mom. She’s told CYY this from the get go. So it makes sense to me that for their first real conflict all of her instincts of self-preservation would flood to the surface. Despite her affection towards her husband, she’s still skittish. I also understand why she would be so afraid to talk to CYY about the nephew. She is probably afraid of his anger, afraid of him rejecting her, etc. Her dad really screwed her up.
