The only one gripe I have with this series is that they masterfully create TENSION between the leads, but they don't SUSTAIN it!!! Like it just fizzles out fast like it didn't matter e.g. the hair towel dry scene and raindrop cheek scene.
For me, despite the weird grey area of stepsibling trope in queer media, this series was between okayish fine and kinda great. The drunk scene and very cringe acting and stroyline between Muren and Lichen is what pulled down the rating and quality of the series. Also, the actor of Fu Youngjie of the younger stepbro did a spectacular performance in his portayal of the character --- from the eyes, mannerisms, posture, aura, and facial expressions --- he did all best. The rest of the characters are slop. Didn't want to comment under this series, because I dropped it back then, but Fu Youngjie's acting is what made me endure this slop and I wanted to commend him.

Well because they were old... and that was the reality of their atime back then. It doesn't help that the writers/directors also lived in that same reality which could warrant them into expressing their experiences and frustrations into their media.
This had great potential for an angsty storyline with their own emotional baggages, highschool unrequited love, and reencounter,,, but it failed to deliver even with whatever premise they decided to go with. They have fine and cute chemistry with normal interactions like talking, eating with each other, and walking side by side,,, but fails to produce similar results in their intimate moments.
Speaking of, I'm not really critical of kiss scenes, but it's really comical that this series have a good number of kisses spanned throughout the episodes, BUT all of them are DEADFISH kisses. It's awkward. I'd rather they have less kiss scenes.
The tension is THICK between the leads. You know cbromances can already kill you with all their subtlety in their gaze, touch, and words (for censorship reasons), but now it can step it up a notch since they finally found a way to workaround that ban. I am loving this drama.
Call it queer trauma, but I don't trust those trope of introducing the story with a spoiler of a future into a recap like it was already introduced that they would fall in love at the start. I hope it's a happy ending ajshhdhdhsh
The sensible thing is if u were a popular actor, your agency wouldv've screened or filtered such things. Also why would you even keep those in a box that's easy for other people to see lol
I've put off watching this because I watched the promotional film for the novel first when it aired. It starred Benjamin Tsang and Stan Huan. Maybe because of the budget with the diff media types, but the script, directing, production, cinematography, music scoring were superior than this drama. Although it was 5 mins, it captured strong chemistry, tension, and angst between the leads even with just their gazes and little script. With the drama, it fell flat. The angst with the mains fared weaker than the 2nd leads. Also, with an angsty storyline, everything was glaringly bright and flat to convey such depth. The promotional film did well in utilizing lighting and optics to depict emotions. Now that I've finally completed it, it was decent. I'd rate it higher if I hadn't watched the promo film. Also I've liked the 2nd leads better towards the end. It's a rewatchable drama for me
What a massive letdown. The start was already bumpy and then it got rushed and crashed. So many unanswered questions with the ending. It needed an epilogue to tie the knots. Maybe a plot-heavy drama is not for their budget. Sometimes, something simple works best. That's why A Breeze of Love was fine.
