What a disrespectful and ignorant review. Review the drama, no need to insult an entire ethnicity. How ignorant and racist.

The fox is a 9-tail fox. Her mom cut one of the tail off, so he only have 8 tails when he captured XY. When she finally escape, she cut the rest off.

She hasn't like Jing yet. In the novel, she said she didn't truly like Jing until way later. She is still guarding her heart but she is letting Jing in slowly.

I think XL never letting XY know is his way of protecting her. Imagine how much heartbreak she would have if she knew all the things XL did for her. And rmb she refused to let XL kiss her because she afraid of falling for him. And XL know that. He also knew XY hate being abandoned, so it would hurt her even more knowing someone who love her THAT much still chose to abandon her for their own cause.

So in his own way, XL is protecting XY even more by not letting her know. He is giving his love without asking anything in return, not even for her affection, her presence or even her acknowledge. He is truly selfless to the end. He want NOTHING of XY but he gave her everything he have. He isn't powerful like Xuan or rich like Jing, but he gave her his most valuable possession - his life, over and over again.

XY and XL scene was so beautifully honest and tragic. It's one of my favorite scene.

XY was honest with XL. She said "My gege said I'm a girl who still daydream." Here "daydream" meant a girl romantic hope. When Yuan met Xinyue, it was XY who called it fate. This show she still has a romantic bone in her. If she was as callous and pragmatic as Yuan, she would have said the same thing he said, that benefits trump the rest. That's why Xuan said she's still a romantic at heart, aka "a girl who still daydream".

Then she tell him "I don't want you to accidentally walk into my dream." She already define what this dream is, so it can only mean she don't want to accidentally fall in love with him. Because she's still a girl at heart, who will think about and dream about her love. And then she gave him the final nail in the coffin by saying "It's because you're not the type suitable to walk into a girl's dream." It means that he's not a suitable partner for her.

XY said it so beautifully and honestly that XL can only bitterly laugh. She indirectly let him know he affected her and she has some feeling for him. Because if she doesn't, then how could she accidentally love him over a kiss? But then she told him they can never be. She can't love him/ she won't allow herself to love him, because he's not suitable for her.

XY was mad when he came because he felt XY lied to him. He now got her honesty, but this honesty only broke his heart a million time more. I think XL knew it deep down, but still holding to a shred of hope. Now with XY words, he knew he can no longer hide from the truth, and he can no longer lash out at her. He can blame her for her lies, but he can't blame her for who he chose to be. XL issue is not that he's a demon, but who chose to allied with. And he won't give that up. So it's not XY but it's his fault. That is why I think XL was so bitter in that moment.

Maybe~ maybe not. Well in the book/drama, he have his nail near her throat with an intention to kill her. He was really tense, but the moment she said that, he just laugh out loud. I think he heard it the way we heard it, aka "I can't love you."

That scene in the book and drama is the same though?
Even when I was reading the book, I interpret it as XY indirect confession to XL. She doesn't want to let herself "dream" about him, aka, she doesn't want to let herself fall for him. Even in the novel, XY is rarely scare of XL except the first 2-3 meeting.
So in the novel and in the book, XY meant "i'm scare of falling in love with you".

Later in the novel, one time XY amused herself and told XL that she wished she found him first. She had wandered the world for so many years, if only she met him before the Shengnong general. They would have a totally different ending. Honestly, I think about that a lot. In my head another version of XY exist, and that XY found XL first. He would have been so devoted to her. They would only have each other and do anything for each other, never parts. XY could have the thing she always wanted.

I'm feeling so guilty. I am 17 ship but I am falling more and more for XL. The last scene in ep 18 broke my heart a little for our little 9 head demon. His hope had been dashed, his dream crushed. It's the moment he knew - he can never be with her. He lived for thousands of years and finally met such a precious person by chance. Yet she is the last person he can ever be with. She can be anybody and yet she is that person.

There's nothing about being "not complex". Some of us like a break from all the heartache and headache.

I only know one. Because she ingested so much of his blood, she turned part demon. She got some of XL skills, especially his ability to be at ease in water.

The last line is so over-dramatic. XL can never be enemies with XY. He's way too deep at this point. Too late for him. He already gave his heart, no return policy found.

he's the ML in the previous novel. They just mentioned him passing here.

yes i noticed it too because i don't remember it in the book. i was so shocked when i watched it in the drama but i was so moved as well. i saw the bts and he continue crying after the scene where yangzi tried to tease him but tears kept rolling.

I understand and wasn't referring to the "green tea" term.
I was explaining that the list is about all Jing intentionally do to win XY heart.
However I think his crying was not intentional. He didn't do it to win her. He has feeling and was genuinely moved so he cried. That was my point.

The delusional one is CX. Not only does he use her, she actively encourage him to use her, and even use herself for his benefit. She does everything for his sake, because it's what he wanted. If CX was only a cousin/brother, I don't hate him because XY was a willing participant the whole time.

However, it's when he done using her and got what he wanted, he turned around and stole from her the only thing she ever wanted. Selfish and cruel to the last. He only see his own ambition and heartache. Even if he love her, he should give it up for her sake. Like XL. But he can't even do that. He take and take and take, and take some more.

she casually waited for her mom to pick her up for 70 years and didn't even age that much, and was missing for 300+ years. So I think 15 year is barely a blip. Maybe a couple of months at best? If you think about it, it take her 370+ years to grow from a young child (around 7 to 8) to a young adult. So we can assume that's 10 years in human years. so 37-40 years in this novel is equivalent to around 1 human years. that's my very unscientific guess.

Jing is very "resourceful". But to be fair, he didn't cry to elicit sympathy from XL. He was genuinely move. Jing is very smart in his attempt to rizz his way to XY heart BUT he is not that calculative and psychopathic.

yea that's why i was confused why they are selling this as 4 male leads/love. he's only a support role. i wonder if they going to change and make him actually fall in love with XY. if he love XY i think he really gave the other three a run for their money. he's literally a blend of all three but only the better aspects.

TSJ - he's the best with her and the best for her.
XL is very dreamy but he's the kind of love that hurts. I love seeing them together but I don't love to see them end up together. It's complicated.
