that's when the 4th ML come in... he's everything all three are not, including "love". He's easy going, give FL space, respect her love for medicine and supportive of her, promised to be only loyal to her, very direct and honest with her. Except he's not at all that passionate about her. He likes her but doesn't love her.

Yes it's a very minor change. In the first episode, the mother actually said, although I'm not a "Xiyan". This mean that her last name is not Xiyan. For Chinese, a daughter doesn't change their last name after getting married. So it indicated they are not related. And the tree said that the queen has three sons and one disciple.

I get the feeling that these were dubbed over after filming. The scene when small XY carried CX she said that they will get "married" and so she can stay with him forever, was changed to always being his sister. This scene was previously released as a trailer with the original "married" in it, so we know it was dubbed. That's why I have doubts that the change from cousin to not cousin scene was also dubbed, probably due to censorship.

I just wanted to say for those who think Jing is weak, he is actually quite smart, but like the other two, he has limitation too. However, he is not as spiritually powerful like XL. Physically, XL is the strongest. He's a demon that cultivated for thousands of years and had ingested a lot of rare herbs that make him very strong. There are things only Jing can do, things only XL can do, and things on CX can do.

I appreciated that this writer give all three male leads strengths and weaknesses. Jing strength is his resourcefulness and money. CX is born royalty (inherent power). And XL - his physical powers. But their weakness is that Jing is not ruthless when he needed to, CX is too cruel and callous for his own good, and XL is loyal to a fault (to the wrong people and cause).

That's why it make this reverse harem so interesting in my opinion. It's not easy/obvious to pick one. Jing at this point is basically your mother's friend's son. He's everything: sweet, romantic, patient, pampering, rich af, and smart. If he's powerful too and can do whatever he wants, XL and CX should just pack their bag before we even started.

they are better off as siblings/cousins. The way XY is so selfless when it come to CX. She treat her relationship with him 100x better than any friend/or romantic relationship she have. An undying, unconditional loyalty that you see only with family. CX really sour their beautiful relationship. Other leads do so much to earn XY love and trust. CX got it handed to him in a silver plate and squandered it. I don't feel bad for him one bit.

CX to me is like the male lead in Goodbye princess. Some male lead DO NOT deserve the FL, and it should end that way.

In modern time it's not acceptable so they changed it the drama. This novel is a sequel to a previous novel, so it make sense they are cousins then and was raised together. However, in the drama, instead of their parents being siblings, they change XY's mother to just a disciple to the queen (CX's grandmother).
Master/disciple relationship in olden time often have a parent-child connotation. It's one step above just regular teacher-student. Disciples refer to other disciple as sister/brother, and each other's offspring refer to them as auntie/uncle. Hence why CX was able to call XY's mother as auntie although they are not blood related.

it's complicated. he used her a lot, and she let him. so it was mutual. but he did nothing for her and only used her so why does he deserve her? he doesn't and he knew it but he couldn't get over himself.

this is why i never understand this ship. i understand they have history but he used, abused, set fire and burn those history to ashes. not only do he NOT deserve her, he deserve to lose her forever.

i mean i know a lot of people (myself included), have their phone attached to their hips. I can be without my wallet but not my phone. If I'm on the couch, it's with me. If I'm on bed, it's with me. I know some people even bring it with them into the toilet.

they are not blood related. I didn't like it that they are in the novel and always felt the ick so his ship never sail with me. HOWEVER, given the time set up, I think it's acceptable. Because in ancient time, paternal lineage is more valued. So cousin in your father's side getting together is not acceptable. But cousin from the mother's side is okay, because technically you have different last name and is not considered the same clan-family.

For example, children of two brothers is not okay. But children of one brother and sister is okay.

yeah she is now but she'll be better. she is on the more un-serious character in this very heavy-feeling novel.

I noticed that this isn't just exclusive to A'nian but in general in this world setup. They really don't value lives. And kill quite easily, especially when they're in position of power.

King Haoling is a spoiling dad. I rmb in the novel he even said that he didn't earn his power for nothing, his daughter can afford to do whatever they want and he can deal with it all.
Even saying that I realized what A'nian did is not really out of the norm for the story setting, nor did she overboard with her position/authority. XiaoLiu molested her. She have all the right to punish him.

at this point, she's is touched but not yet fall in love with TSJ. she's given her heart a chance, like tian'er advised her.
