I mean they pretty much made Ah De's character humorous before this point (Fighting with Shaofei when Andy was in the office, the "brotherzone" running gag, etc.). And although he was fishy, he never really done something as awful as what he did now. That shit was just too much. But I agree with you. We need more drug/gangster/illegal shit tropes from this series.

Addicted actually also received a lot of backlash lol. But the incorporation of "rape" in BL works is not rare there as it is one means in which by removing consent, they make it less romanticized. But it's still weird, technically Addicted had their leads romanticize rape, like multiple times.

The director talked about this in their live a while ago. Believe it or not, those were actual kissing sounds from the two of them, they also don't know why it sounds off as well lol.

This is a whole mood. As a Zhaozi (and Kenny Chen) biased person and a JackZi stan, you took the words right out of my mouth lol.

I think it has a lot to do with the culture. As we all know, the Chinese community is known to be conservative, not a big fan of LGBT themed works so rape, I think, is a sensitive issue for them. And although I had mixed opinions about this episode, sending hate just because of that scene seems kinda unfair. Especially if we haven't seen what the repercussions of that action may lead to.

Seriously? Well to be honest I also see the rape scene unnecessary and has some discrepancy to Ah De's character (or to what we've seen that is). But I like what they did after the scene, especially the conflict between Shaofei, Tang Yi, and Ah De. But I also feel bad the team and cast had to see that hate :(

Exactly my point lol. Tangyi and Shaofei really saved this episode. I was disappointed with what they did to Ah De's character because he was supposed to be this lovable, loyal to Tang Yi, and capable right hand. But they did his character so dirty by his being solely blinded by jealousy that resulted to assault and rape. Like there's really no way for him to redeem his character at this point. I actually like Hong Ye as well but I also don't understand why her romantic relationship with Daoyi is important to the story. They can still pull this off, but they really should avoid unnecessary plotlines and just focus on the main conflict altogether.

They're weird though lol. We finally get a HIStory season with well rounded characters and a decent plot and they're still complaining? I guess you can't please them all, as people really do differ in opinions when it comes to this season.

Why are they like this when a whole "Addicted" exists? At least they're not romanticizing rape and actually treating rape like how it should be treated, a crime.

It had some good and bad moments to be honest, in my opinion.

Good moments:
1. Shaofei and Tang Yi's scene at the beginning was cute af.
2. Ah De finally snapping and throwing his frustrations at Tang Yi

Bad moments:
1. WHERE. THE. FUCK. ARE. ZHAOZI. AND. JACK.
2. The whole Hong Ye and Daoyi storyline seems so disjointed from the plot
3. Ah De raping Tang Yi. I didn't have a problem with the scene itself but I just don't know how that could develop the plot or the characters. It seems like a display of character discrepancy for Ah De. I just find it weirdly placed in a world of gangsters where anything can happen.

Jack and Zhaozi didn't get any screentime together this week. I really hope they do their characters justice :(

Well to be fair CTL,a setting with high school students, also had VERY passionate kisses lol. So the idea of seeing a "passionate kiss" really isn't far-fetched.
