Is it better than the anime? No, BUT it doesn't HAVE TO to be Good

Before watching this I had seen all three seasons of the anime, the live-action movie and miniseries, and read the first volume of the manga, and to me, this story is literally one of my favorites. I also enjoyed the previous movie/miniseries so I had to watch this sequel. And I wasn't disappointed

This movie is a direct sequel to the first movie, leaving the miniseries to take place presumable during the first half of the first movie. It starts off by aligning the second half of the first movie (which had an original plot) to the starting point of the anime's 3rd season. From there on, it is very similar to the first half of the first movie: Following the manga/anime plot with some liberties. It also feels rushed at some points. Again, this movie gives the narrator little use. He only appears a few times in the movie.

A story plot that I wished had been explored but was left out due to time is the Ino/Ishigami relationship where they both help each other out without the other knowing. I really like that part of the story in the original plot and it saddens me to see it gone.

The last time we see this cast and it has to be said: They were perfectly cast for the characters. They are great actors going through some great roles perfectly. They truly feel like new versions of the same characters.

At this point, I just want to go back and rewatch all of the live-action contant for Love is War together.

GOKAI CHANGE!.... GOOOOKAIGER!

Honestly, I was not going to give this movie a low rating even if it was pretty bad. Nostalgia is just too big of a factor and I can't be unbiased in this situation. However, what surprised me was how good this movie was. I LOVED it.

The plot was great. I won't get into details to not spoil but it truly utilized the characters and their personalities great. (Possibly) Being set in the VS movie-verse of Toei, we even get some world-building to let you know that the seasons after Gokaiger also took place in these worlds outside of the ranger keys. We also acknowledge the time they returned in Zyouhger.

Ohh the music was such a beautiful sound to my ears. When I heard that "Tun dunt dura-rararant" I got chills.

And if you can't tell, I'm just gushing about this movie. So of course I'll rewatch this. Probably as soon as a finish this review.

One of the best Kamen Rider stories I have seen.

I just finished watching this about 5 minutes ago loved it. I always have a hard time going back to watch a show that is over 13 episodes but this one really kept me wanting to watch. I love how they give a well-written back story for Eiji literally shaped his way of being a hero and the way the story is concluded. There was also great lore for the Medal, Villians, and the OOO driver. Now my biggest problem with the show would be the way it followed that 2 part episode format that Rier used to follow.

The actors were pretty decent. I do think that the back end of the show had the best acting for sure, but it was good since the start.

The music was great. LOVED the opening.

Is it better than the anime adaption of these chapters? No, it's JUST as good.

Before watching this I had seen both seasons of the anime, the first movie and read the first volume of the manga, and to me, this story is literally one of my favorites. I try to watch anything that comes out from this franchise!

Story
To start, this miniseries is a live-action adaption of chapters 5 (final part of ep 1), 18 (second part of ep 4), 28 (middle part of ep 6), 37 (first part of ep 10) and 53 (middle of ep 14) of the manga (anime). So basically, this is an adaptation of some of the better parts that were not adapted into the first live-action movie, and it stayed close to the source material. Also, this was done to be almost identical to the way the anime adapted, which means it fixed one of the bigger issues I had with the movie: the usage of the Narrator. It's just great to have him tell us who wins the battles in each episode

Actors
Now, to us, this is the second time we see these people play these roles, and again, the actors were great in their parts. The main leads made the characters theirs and did a great job. By now, I am used to them being in these roles and how they portray them. I learned to love the style used in this Live Action as well. The mix of animation is perfect in a story like this.

Now I am ready to see the sequel to the movie!

Japan, we love you and your crazy ideas!

My biggest complement for this movie is the comedy. This movie was just hilarious. I literally stayed laughing for the whole movie. With that said, this movie cannot be analyzed in a sense of matter like other movies. To put it simply, if it made you laugh, it was good. The only way to rate it is based on how much you laugh. Being a parody, the plot and characters are made to be extremes.
Also, The action was pretty good and funny. That's where a lot of the comedy came from.
And all those OG Spider-Man scenes were the cherry on top

My biggest problem with the movie was the two main leads. Their Characters and acting I am having a hard time judging. The two main leads felt a bit flat to me but I don't know if it has to do with the rest of the character being so over the top or it was their acting itself. Still cant decied.

I also believe that during the middle montage, the movie was a bit staler. I had fewer laughs during the part of the movie and it took a bit to get it back to high levels again.

A unique movie

This movie was pretty good.

The story seems to be well thought out. The way small flashbacks that are played out in the earlier parts of the movie are later elaborated and relevant was great. However, I still felt like I was missing important key facts by the end, to which I read a summary of the movie and it all started to click in. It helped me interpret some visuals that I was actually unsure of the meaning of. In the wiki I used, I learned that the subtitles didn't convey the full meaning of what was being said, so I am more understanding of this.

The visuals/CGI is a unique situation in this movie. This was filmed all on a green screen, and I was afraid that the early 2000s CGI was not going to hold well. To my surprise, even though it is nowhere near the CGI of today, it honestly was not too bad. I have seen way worse CGI in modern Toei toku shows. I did not like, however, how the scenes would jump from one filter to another without much reason. At first, the flashbacks were the only ones in greyscale, but then, the present was also in greyscale, but only with our hero. I think the idea that they wanted to show with the filters was the mood of the situation, but honestly, I don't think it worked too well.

The acting was honestly pretty good. Can't say much about it.

Honestly, if you like action movies and experimental films, this is a decent watch and you will like it. It was worth the watch just to see the vision of the director in his CGI experiment, but the story was pretty good as well.

Loved It

As a person who likes dark gloomy worlds, I really enjoyed this movie. I had just finished watching the 04 cutie honey when i watched this and they are literally like night and day.

My biggest complaint (which is more like a nitpick) is all the cuts during the action. I can see it was done to hide the fact that the actors and actresses are not martial artists, so I can let it slide. However, when the stunt actors took over, it was beautiful action.

The story was excellently paced. Never did I feel like asking why any character just magically changed opinions to service the plot. It was well planned and thought out.

The actors and actresses were great. I had never seen any of the main cast but I fell in love with Nishiuchi Mariya's acting.

Now, I need more of this Cutie Honey and I don't think I'll get it.

Funny Toku Movie

There were problems with the story that could have been fixed. For example, the whole uncle thing was rushed. We see her care so much for a random guy that honestly, I didn't know if he was good or bad until the end. I guess it might have to do with the fact that I know nothing about Cutie Honey prior to watching this. However, this movie was just a fun watch. It was great to see how the personalities of Honey and Aki interacted. And the CGI was bad, but it fits this kind of movie. It owned how bad it was and just made it more enjoyable.

Now, I'm off to watch the newer Cutie Honey movie/show.

Rollercoaster of a show.

Overall I would say that if you want to watch a Kamen Rider show, go for any other better ones. This was not one of them.

The Story. Personally, I didn't like it. The first arc of this show was extremely rushed. Every week it felt like we were getting characters that just popped up in the background and later they turned into riders and then you were presented to them, as the new character was in the background. Then it slowed a bit and became a show about Touma losing all his new friends for no reason and then sword fighting them into being friends with him. Literally, every one of his group members had a sword battle with him and most of them had it right before turning back to his side. Then there were so many plot points that were just brought up at the end with no buildup. Storious had a bunch of people kidnapped? Never saw it until it was relevant. Oh, And Ren just fussing about getting stronger was super annoying.

The acting was on par with other rider shows. I will give props to Angela Mei, who played Reika/Sabela. While I didn't really like how the writer handled her character at all, she did a great job. First, she was shown as the evil "right hand" woman to the main bad guy. Then was more of a comedy relief. She did both well.

The music was great. Almighty was a bangger. I listened to it for hrs and didn't get tired of it. The ending song was not bad either.

Is it better than the anime? No, BUT it doesn't have to be to be Good

Before watching this I had seen season 1 of the anime and read the first volume of the manga, and to me, this story is literally one of my favorites. I liked the anime so much that it made me buy/read my very first manga. So the minute I saw that it had a live-action movie, I had to give it a try. After watching it, I can say that it is not as good as the anime, BUT by no means is it bad. I would say that, if you don't want to watch the 6 hrs of the first season of the anime, this is a great way to get the story in 2 hrs.

This movie covers the overall story of season 1 (anime) in the first hr of its runtime and what I can assume is season 2 in the second hr. To achieve this, many of the individual sections had to be dropped. Honestly, I am fine with that. I will say I am surprised at how the writers were able to combine so many of the sections to flow one after another so well, considering how the manga/anime treats each battle individually. This, however, makes the movie feel rushed in some parts and creates the biggest problem I have with this movie: the little use they gave the narrator. He only appears a few times in the movie. I needed more of that "_________ wins" sections he did in the manga/anime. Personally, I feel that is an essential part of Love is War and shouldn't have been taken away.

Another change the movie did that I didn't mind as much was adding Ishigami Yu from the very beginning of the movie. I think that to anyone that isn't familiar with the source, it would seem natural.

The second half of the movie felt a lot better because it was all new to me, having only seen season 1 of the anime. I was really interested in what they were going to do with the rest of the movie once I noticed they were going to go past the story of season 1.

The actors were great in their parts. The two main leads made the characters theirs and did a great job. Their voices were both very different from the animes but that isn't a problem to me. Asakawa Nana was a different situation. I have seen her in many other works and I know she is an amazing actress, which she was in this movie as well, but her voice threw me off. Personally, I would have rather had her use her natural voice.

Edit: I have now seen season 2, and I now know that the second half of the movie is technically an original plot that follows the student body president elections (Season 2 of the anime also focuses on the elections but adapts the storyline of the manga). This does get me curious as to what the sequel to the live-action plot will be? Is it going to be a more original plot? Follow that the anime will adapt for season 3? Only time will tell.

Solid Drama

I personally liked this story. I had seen all 4 OVAs released and I was excited when I found out this had been made, today. I literally stopped everything and just watched all 3 1/2 hrs and I don't regret it. Now I will watch the anime that came out a month before this and hope it's just as good or better. It was my first time seeing all these actors but I have to say that the acting was pretty solid and I liked them all. The music was good and I think I will rewatch this someday because I liked the story.

I basically knew nothing when I started watching.

Overall, I really liked this movie. It was long but it kept me watching attentively.

The story was pretty fun one to watch. I how we start the movie in the middle of decisive action and then go back in a flashback to explain how we got to that bloody point. Throughout the whole movie, we get a couple of flashbacks that help explain the current movement in the story and I really liked them. All though, I don't know if it was due to the lack of knowing Japanese, but I was actually confused as to which character the young girls were supposed to be in the flashback at first.

The acting was good. It was the first time I saw anything with the actress playing the main leads and I enjoyed their portrayals.

Musc was good. I liked that they had many English tracks. Might have to do with it being made with Netflix so they wanted songs that would be understood in a wide range of places.

I would rewatch it if I have time to spare.

Since I am not part of the LGBTQ+ community, I will not say anything about this element of the movie. There are other people that are part of the community that can judge it on how accurate/relatable it is in this aspect and I will take their word on it.

Best Asian drama I have seen

I don't tend to give out 10s but honestly, this is one that deserves it. The story was really well balanced well and really entertaining, the acting was next level, the music was great and I would love to rewatch it. Truly, a wholesome comedy that can really pull at the heartstrings. I really liked how we followed the story of both mother and daughter and we get to see the parrels. All the actors, young and older, were amazing. I started watching because I'm a fan of Hamabe Minami, but I leave loving all these actors. I cannot believe that more people didn't watch this. It deserves way more views than this.

Basic show done in a very Basic way

Personally, I would say that this is not worth a watch. It's a very boring story and the characters actually change very little, especially the female lead. I will say that I actually had high hopes for this and the first few episodes were pretty okay. But after episode 3 it just kept going nowhere. The actors were okay but there wasn't really anything that stood out to make me love their acting. The characters were basically the common tropes. The MLs were the "cool", the "hotheaded" and the "eccentric" guy tropes. As for the FL, she was supposed to be the mother-like woman that helps them overcome their problems but she didn't really show many emotions, which didn't actually help sell that role. Overall This show was a basic storyline with some okay actors doing basic roles and all this has been done better by other shows before

Few Seasons can compare to Kiramager

This season was AMAZING! Very few seasons can compare with the quality and entertainment that Kiramager had.

First, let's start with the story. This season was able to have an episode zero, which made the first episode the second part of a two-parter. This should be done with all season. It gives the introduction of the story room to breathe and settle better with views. Then, after 10 episodes of knowing the core team, we had to have the hiatus due to COVID. I was ready for the huge downhill slope, but, somehow, the quality of the show did not suffer. Then we had the 6th ranger join us, and with him, came a new story plot that ended after 4 episodes. SIKE! Of course not! These writers keep this storyline going and not just completely forgotten, but active. I feel like it's so hard to find this in toku but Kiramager had it.

The character and the actors in this show were on par with the story. Komiya Rio as Atsuta Juru / Kirama Red was such a welcome surprised. When we all thought he would just be another eccentric red, he brought a sense of thoughtfulness and care. I think we should have more characters that are like him down the line if they can get it right again. Kihara Rui as Imizu Tametomo / Kirama Yellow was a great leader to follow. Always looking for the best plan, he leads the team in the aspects that Juru was least capable of. Yet he is also willing to follow Juru and let him be the official leader. Shinjo Yume as Hayami Sena / Kirama Green, Mizuishi Atomu as Oshikiri Shiguru / Kirama Blue, and Kudo Mio as Oharu Sayo / Kirama Pink were great actors and their character were great team members. Sena was always herself from the start and was ready to act first and think later. However, with the right plan from Tametomo, she would be able to focus that entry and charge into battle at top speed. Shiguru was the cool man at first but once he was more comfortable with the team, we were able to see his eccentric side that others would not be able to see. And Sayo was like the mother of the group, always keep everyone in check and making sure everything was on track. Kohei Shoji was a wonderful actor as Crystalia Takamichi / Kirama Silver, who started off wanting to do his mission solo, but with a bit of friendship from the other, he was able to get the help of the team to complete his mission. Momotsuki Nashiko as Yodonna was a good actress. At first, I was not expecting to like this character as much but quickly I just wanted to see more of her and even felt tempted to want to see a victory for her. Every actor and actress was really good, and I hope they get bigger and better roles in the future ahead.

Music-wise I loved it. The opening and the ending were top-notch. Never skipped them in this year.

Since all but maybe 2 episodes were 4 stars and up, I would be willing to rewatch any episode in the series. The filler was always so good. Never had I said that about a season till now.
