He didn't really wasted it. Anyway the kid was supposed to die soon. Here, it's like Death put him in a body back in time, before it happens. (the "game saving point")

I think there isn't really many badly written drama anyway. Screenwriting is very competitive, you have more chance to become cosmonaut, I often say as a joke. Even more in SK where there isn't much room. We can expect only the best are produced. Park Hye Ryun is the older generation. What's mean she started when there was only the 3 public channels. Even less room.
But ofc, they could miss a bit a story. As anyway it's difficult to write a good story that people enjoy. It's not an exact science.
You have high chance to enjoy kdramas you liked in the past, even they aren't great. It's a kind of sentimental attachement and nostalgy. Only, if you watch the same kind today (as a new drama) you could find that boring.

Rewatch is important for me. It's how I dig deep in the scripts.
I'm sure you could like Goblin if you rewatch it, and maybe like it even more. I find it too slow and plotless, but it has some visual magic. It's poetic. A big success everywhere. Sometimes I think I should make an effort and watch it fully, as I like all the actors in this.

Years of dramaland!! I was more annoying when I started. But Ooooh, what is that? Coming from the sky? And old age? Wisdom??! We share a lot of dramas in our top list. But ofc, some are out-of-sync. Like goblin, I never ended that, soooo slooowww. I couldn't.
Well, it's not the best drama I watched. But I like the two actors. Also, it's a very popular drama and everybody watch. What make a nice occasion to interact with people on internet. ;-)
Ep 08 is better. Resolution of the cliffhanger a bit disapointing, but then, a looooot of nice comedy scenes. Not much plot but an okay episode. +Kiss under drops in slomo.
