Haha.feels the same..pathetic writing by the writer for keeping the deads alive
Yes I prefer the dead stay dead. But everytimes I read comments here, people always want to see their darling alive. So, Shim Soo Ryun was alive, Ro Na too...
It's not pathetic writing, it's more a necessity. Also, it need to keep the cast.
On the poster, there is characters, audience wan't them all. It's part of the game and the fun. Bring back a character into action. Classic twist, and if a drama have the right to abuse this kind of plot, it's the Penthouse, as a crazy makjang.

Hahaha yea, this was pretty close to 'The King: Eternal Monarch" - level of in-your-face advertisement XD
No you exagerate ! I didn't even understood it was PPL.
But in the episode, we get a true PPL, quite short : Yoon-Hee use a kind of vibro on her face. For once, it's not in a comedy scene. Just a short shot with only that.
I prefer when Seo-Jin throw her nescafe in Secretary Do face. ;-)

Is Alex lee really Alex lee? What if he’s just Logan pretending to be Alex?? I don’t even know where they’re…
Damn, it's a nice idea... But it would make x2 the same trick. It was used already for Shim Soo Ryun. Also, I feel it was really Logan in the car explosion. I rather bet than the actor is popular. So it's a way to give him screentime during season 3, as well to make parody.

I cringed at the "Alex Lee" character, felt like I was watching a scene from Eulachacha Waikiki lmao wtf what…
This is the kind of extravagant character this writer can pull out of the hat. Like in The Last Empress, with the martial arts guru, or the face transformation in two months. Crack-Majkang! :-)

I also have a problem with the transition out of prison. At the same time, I kind of understand. Putting everyone in jail at the end of season 2 was the best possible plot twist. It would have been crazy to miss out on that idea. However, when you push the limit, you also have to deal with what comes next. The first part of episode 1 did that well, with the hard life of all those bastards in the jail. But if the script goes too far into that, it will end up looking like PrisonBreak. So, it's a bit of a necessary evil from a storyline point of view.

I buy your idea for the ending, but it has to be done in the Penthouse rules: they all fall off the roof... except one person. Who? ^^

Hey hey, I feel like Yoon Hee prepare a new betrayal. :-)

Episode 2!!!
Things almost move a little too fast, and I had trouble connecting the motivation of the characters and the plot-twists. Until about halfway through the episode. The comedy scenes with Seo Jin and Dan Tae were good, but also hampered by the change being too sudden. Also, all the other characters are getting out of jail. The most amusing being Yoon Chul who decides to be a big shit who earns money!!! ^^
Towards the end, some situations I really liked, with Joo Dan Tae's daughter for example, who frankly falls under her father's wing. Eun-Byul also, always so freaked out.
Finally... Logan Lee is alive... Uh no, actually he is a hidden brother. A caricature of a rapper full of dough rather stupid. No chance that Shim Soo Ryun falls in love with him, the guy is vulgar, without any class. But at least the actor is back!
Now that the story has stabilized with all the storyline related to the prison evacuated, it should be better. We feel that the writer was in a hurry to finish this situation as soon as possible.

I for one don't want dramas to check diversity boxes and look like American dramas. The reason why I escape to…
It was something predictable according to Netflix's trojan horse strategy. First adapting to the country in an honest way, then gradually implementing their agenda. They made no secret of it and everyone knows it. It is a way to fund Korean content creators compatible with their ideology and propagate it from abroad.

Kdrama producers are starting to realise that their shows can't hurt to reflect their multinational audiences.…
That's said, I connect more easely with koreans than actors of my own country.

Well, as a man, I can just relate my experience: I don't like romances in western movies and series. Or it's very rare. Romantic comedies exasperate me, except for the comedy aspect when it is successful.
On the other hand, it is a genre that I like in kdramas. Everything sounds more accurate. So, it wasn't a question of the genre of the movie, but of the way it's done.
The romcoms in the kdramas are good. The romance that goes along with the stories with another plot also. And the best in the matter, to have a feeling of truth, is the melodramas. (And slidingly, makjang, because these are two genres that tend to mix often).
Otherwise, like the author of the article, I also like makjang. In sentimental matters, there are some really hard, heartbreaking stories.

Well... Since the very start, I find Logan is dull. Not really interesting character, but just necessary to the…
I won't complaint, everything is almost perfect in penthouse. Logan was great when he was the sport teacher. It's later, I have less affinity. I can still see the chararcter is well portrayed. For fun we was saying he's a kind of vampire. Look at his clothes or his hair. He's supposed to be a bit dull on purpose certainly.

If you watched "the last empress", you know with this writer, even guys shooted in the head can survive. :-)
