i haven't finished watching this drama yet but now reading the reviews i don't think i will... is it really that…
If you are on the verge to drop, I hope it's because you don't like it, and not because the reviews. Or just end it, as there is only 4 more episodes and a lot of answers, explaining many points you didn't catch until now. It was big mysteries drama, and for people who didn't guessed yet what happen (most of the people), you end to know what. ;-)
I ended up really loving this drama. I was so invested in it! I'm curious to know your thoughts on the ending...spoiler…
It's a bit difficult to say again what was already said. You will have to search a bit for more comments, here, on soompi forum or bitchesoverdrama blog. ;-)
8.5 to 9.0 stars for me.- I don't know why but Park Shin Hye.. I didn't see her chemistry with JSW as a couple.…
Your rating is realistic. Considering some others dramas don't have the right rating. I already spoke about that, the fact it's better to have a scale. But people don't rate like that.
The Asia Mart old man and Seo-Hae's father are my favorite characters. Haha, I didn't expect that. Despite the…
It's one of the good thing about badly rated dramas. You think first it will be the usual boring drama full of fillers or dull action. Then... You fall into THAT! Almost the more spectacular drama I watched, even if it's not my favorite one.
I'm currently debating whether to watch this drama or not, especially since a lot of people mentioned that the…
It's better to have watched some time travel story before. Sisyphus has quite an unique and complex high concept about that. Even if it sound simple at first. But good thing is the drama give many answers. Not all of them but almost.
The ratings are so low, should I watch it or not? I usually only watch kdramas rated 8+
The rating here mean nothing. I have far more chance to be disapointed by a drama rated 9 than another one 7.5. First, people rate heavy. So many times, 10 is just "I liked" and not "how much I liked". Is there a scale ? When there is a drama I like, I don't always rate it 10. If the general rating is 7.3, I could rate it 8, even if like it as much as people who rate 10. It's just I try to have a scale. By doing that, my 8 rating don't contribute to really help the general rating.
There was on article on MDL, a few week ago, about "underated dramas". The author article, then many people in the comment (me too) gave their favorite underated dramas. Worth of 9 rating like, at heart.
That reference to Madame Bovary lmaooo but well, you explained it so well !!
Tu passes donc le bac cette année. Bonne chance!!
It's one of the more fast paced drama. lol! Except rare dramas like 365 repeat the year, Penthouse or Empress…
It's a very clever way of writing. The drama is suitable for those who take it entirely at face value, as well as for those who take it with more hindsight like me. Moreover, the style of the drama tells directly to the audience, even before the beginning: this is a crazy makjang, there will be almost impossible or unrealistic things. (or even unrealistic things done on purpose for some parody scenes or some plot). It is useful for the audience to know this, because it is easier to let go. Nobody will try to nitpick, we accept the author's contract. From then on, it becomes very easy to get involved in the story without having to criticize it. You can watch The Last Empress, by the same writer, and same style. You will see a series of scenes totally illogical on purpose (identity change), it's a parody of other makjang doing the same kind of plot. It's exagerated, so we know it's for the fun. But the whole drama is also for fun too, even if it's more subtle and don't go in such extreme comedy scenes.
Showbiz Korea has its own rules!!!Even though she is a talented young actor, if she behaves badly, she can be…
You said it, it's in the hands of the Koreans, not ours!
Changing idols makes little sense, because no celebrity can logically have an idyllic past. This is the most fiercely competitive environment. Only those who are strong and confident enough can succeed. This means having a strong personality, knowing how to defend yourself, fight and outdo others. On top of that, it means having a stressful life, not really suitable for peaceful and quiet private relationships. With difficult times when Agency try to control your life, or media are always looking for a scoop about your private life.
Fatally, one will always find, for any celebrity, an affair or two from the past. And with a malicious media, this will be amplified or distorted. People who worship celebrities they believe to be blameless are just fooling themselves and prefer to live in illusion. Add to that the fact that actors have to display emotions of all kinds and extremes. It is an amplification of the emotions they have experienced in their lives. They would not be where they are without all these elements.
Knowing all that, I don't care if my favorite actress is not the so good girl we think she is. Maybe tomorrow we will learn Kim So Hyun slapped some girls at school ? So ?
It would be better to sort out the benign from the serious, to separate the current behaviors from those of the past. There have been very serious cases that deserve public attention, prostitution, drug trafficking, rape. Putting more trivial acts on the same level loses the scale of values.
And hotel del luna... The guy was close to a buddha, lol!Or maybe people consider he is "the worst" because he's…
Thanks for the recap, I watched it a so long time ago. There was many misunderstanding in this couple. Many way for both of them to be angry at each other.
It's one of the more fast paced drama. lol! Except rare dramas like 365 repeat the year, Penthouse or Empress…
Not really, Penthouse is fun too (but not very hearted, lol). It's more a break from drama like Sandglass, Kairos, or fully dramatics, maybe violents, with many deaths. Well, I know in Penthouse there is a bit that, but I consider the drama also as a self-parody and many over-dramatic scenes are funny. People mad with anger, razing tables, or things like that. It make me laugh often. Even if the story is strong enough to bring me back in the serious mood when needed. It's a unique drama about this concept. One of the best drama I ever watched.
And hotel del luna... The guy was close to a buddha, lol!Or maybe people consider he is "the worst" because he's…
Oh yes, you are right, it's the same actor. I didn't remember that. In Start-up is acting his very good. On crying scene for example. I don't remember well CSL now. But I remember the basic : the girl throw him in the garbage can when he's poor. Then, when he's rich, she wan't him again. Tssss. But flashback scenes show very warmfull and heart in the relationship. Or hypothetical scenes, of simple couple happyness and everyday love. I never watched a drama where people meet so often in the elevators, lol!

Yeah, she was very beautiful in season 2, more than season 1. But the drama was so boring. I don't care, I watched because her. Her character of a girl always in doubt, indecise, even cheating, was still nice. BIOG pitch is a bit ironic : a ghost hunter is haunted by... an adorable ghost. The poor guy can't make a step alone, she's always on his back, doing cute clownery. Or even giving live advices (or rather, have fun of him) when the guy try pitifully to date the other girl he want. Light hearted drama, story like this raise my optimism and good mood UP.
the beginning eps feels slow with many filler scenes but I don't like to skip entire episodes. Kim Seo Hyung looks…
Hey! You are right. It's not good to skip episode or fastforward. I never trust opinion of people doing that. It's better to put on-hold or even drop.
I didn't get this feeling of fillers. I'm more lucky than you. ;-) Scenes with secondary characters are not comedy, like in some others daily (and most of the time, bad comedy). It's here to get more dramas, tension, even bad people. Most boring scenes are maybe with heroine's family, but the brother is nice when he chase the husband, it make brutal scenes. We still need to get family feedback, it's quite "obligated" for the logic. But I guess they will be part of the tragedy too. I don't expect this family have a nice fate.
We have to put this drama in retrospective too. It come from 2008. As a drama with breaking rating at this time, I expect to find some redefinition of what was some basics before. I don't know whitch ones. (we know a drama like Stairway to heavens was already heavy about tragedy). Then, dramas coming next after this one took it into consideration. In the revenge style. I could say, a drama that change the game maybe. It's why I'm so curious about this one. And of course I enjoy it because the writer have a great sens of irony.
Just one example about that : in a scene, the husband will go to bed with his mistress. But the bed of his family! So, also his wife bed. It could be already disgusting. But the writer do more than that and play with irony. The scene just before, his wife clean the bed and and remade it with nice sheets and pillows (with hearts). She do that because she want to please her husband and be a nice wife. Then you know it's the mistress that will benefit of this and not her.
Note for later : I suspect the 5 year boy to be the son of Kang Jae and not the son of Gyo Bin. I don't remember well if we got the result of a DNA test. Or maybe it was a falsified one ?
Jang Seo Hee crying scene in episode 31 is something, woo, we are drowned into this. There is also some scary background music we didnt get before. It turn to dramatism and tragedy, I can feel things will turn even worst than it's already.
Or just end it, as there is only 4 more episodes and a lot of answers, explaining many points you didn't catch until now. It was big mysteries drama, and for people who didn't guessed yet what happen (most of the people), you end to know what. ;-)
There is Wooo revelations. Mind-blowing. ^^
