I can deal with that compared to the unbelievable "heart issue" that is cured by eating an apple plus the fencing…
Fencing was a poor choice for a featured sport. But I’m laughing that they keep taking off their masks so we’ll know who is who and see their pretty faces. Should have gone with Greco Roman wrestling.
Yeah. In terms of "love stories", for some reason, fujoshi's LOVE the idea of brief encounters that then blossom…
O.K. I think its a bit unfair to label Arthit a pedophile. I don't think he's been carrying the torch and he did warn Sun to go away before he couldn't leave. The screenplay did a poor job explaining what the father's were talking about when they were discussing their sons getting married to each other, and how much Arthit knew about it. Basically, Arthit has been avoiding this encounter in as much as he's aware of the pledge the father's have made. The 50M that Sun is sent to collect is his own bride price, By not getting married, Arthit had been messing up the inheritance. Arthit was left money to pay Sun's dad to fulfill the pledge they made to have their kids marry. Arthit pays for Sun, Sun's dad returns the money (as is customary), which cancels the debt, and now the 50 million is free to go to Talay to buy his island. He's not so much a pedophile as he has to agree to get together with Sun (and vice versa) so that his father's will can be carried out.
So let me understand this. Arthid met Sun once, for 15 seconds, and has been carrying a torch since then. A torch…
Yeah. In terms of "love stories", for some reason, fujoshi's LOVE the idea of brief encounters that then blossom and give the appearance of destined love. Makes no sense, but they are running with it in this series, Check Out and Oh! My Sunshine Night at the moment.
Jesus Christ what in the world was this??I remember i was so excited for this since it was bounprem and was expecting…
I think that would make a good curse for BL watchers. "May you always remember that you watched Even Sun." (Makes curse casting hand gesture while making the evil eye).
Might be the worst Thai BL since the Best Twins. Seems more like a workshop film or student film than anything. I doubt they had much of a script going in. My guess is that they mis-estimated the costs, got drunk at the resort, and figured no one would notice the pacing issues. Does anyone care if Arthit and Sun became a couple? Boun and Win didn't seem to either.
The lighting in that uni is weird. Those aren’t possible shadows. The “side story” gimmick that they pull so we’ll watch the credits is silly. Why couldn’t we watch their entire conversation?
Aww. Rain is being so parental to Phayoo. Dressing him. Putting him to bed. Disapproving of the girls he brings around.
Ufa chickens out. But the boy has a bod. He needs to stop wearing such loose fitting shirts at school. And he should never ever wear that shirt Khim wore. No one who isn’t a chef should wear that.
Lordy. Sun’s balcony alone is larger than most apartments. Just how cheap is housing in Bangkok that his parents don’t bat an eye about paying for that as student housing.
There’s something nice about having a dad who cares for you so much that he’ll find you in the middle of the night to explain to you why he doesn’t like you and never will. Now, to be far to him, the idea that as a good parent that you need to love your children equally is a relatively modern social more. Thankfully, he also mentions his death. So he’ll be kicking it soon.
I would like the Mythbusters to get back together for one episode to design an experiment to demonstrate just how loudly Kim’s dad would been to be shout for it to be audible under water.
Is anyone else kind of baffled by the fact that puens mistake with being late for the meeting was for drunk driving…
Yeah. Having a lead in this kind of light BL series with alcoholism as his flaw is going to be a tough issue for them to balance. But in terms of the series, Talay is too focused on giving a good presentation and getting home to notice this issue. For Up and Aou, this is the first time Tun has been irresponsible and they are too mad at the botched presentation to make that connection. My guess is that they'll handle it the same way they handled it in Our Days: the character with the serious drinking problem will sober up once he has fallen in love with someone.
It’s so funny that in this universe, supposedly complete opposite universe, KFC somehow remains the exact same…
Yeah, I'm thinking the sponsors read the script and said "No, you may not change our name to Ohio Fried Chicken." and "No, you may not change the label on our product to Nudivia if you want our sponsorship dollars." KFC though, is pretty universal. I'm guessing some swicheroonie in the past missed KFC, discovered that this alternate universe didn't have fried chicken, and decided to make a fortune for him or herself. So the worlds converge. Because being stuck in someone else's body in a strange world is bad enough; it would be 10 times worse without fried chicken.
I think one of the reasons people think Puen is moving too fast is that we don't have a sense of what his life was like before the switch. He's dropped hints that its not all positive for him, and we know he has a drinking problem, but just because he says he's never been in love before doesn't mean he hasn't been seducing people or taking advantage of being a star. Also, he's read what passes for Tun's diary, and living Tun's life to the fullest means going hard after Tess - something that Tun was never able to do. Going hard after Tess means inviting Tun out to coffee and a movie and coming up with an excuse to invite himself in. He's making himself as available as he possibly can.
I did like episode 3 because I always like the BL trope where the pair doesn't realize that they are already dating. They were indeed on a date, but of course the only way Talay would agree to go on a date is that he thought that they were working.
I would like to explain to the doctor a little bit about the birds and the bees, because I don't think he learned that in medical school. It is very much impossible for Daonuea to become pregnant outside of wedlock, so please quit treating any signs of intimacy between him and his boyfriend as a threat and a potential scandal. Are you worried that his bride price will go down if he shows up to his wedding deflowered? You enjoy having sex with your 19 year old boyfriend. Your 19 year brother should enjoy the same.
In the movie version of "Call Me By Your Name", toward the end of the film Elio and Oliver hike toward a waterfall…
Thanks. I just have to note it for now. We've had water as snow, and water as rain, and water in showers, and water as mist, and water as steam, and bottled water, and water for a sponge bath, and water in a waterfall. It'll probably be later in the series where all this water comes together. Although in the past, water because it takes so many forms is a good metaphor for love. We need it to live. It can be gentle like the water used to bathe someone (which is usually symbolic of a mothers love) or it can be a tremendously scary experience like drowning under the weight of a wave. Its not an accident that Kim gives Sun a spongebath in a scene where he starts calling out for his mother who he misses so much. You're correct. The waterfall might be something powerful and enduring. It might also be powerful and dangerous. We'll find out.
He is a partner at an accounting firm that he inherited from his father. So basically, he's already the senior…
The writers have forgotten a lot of things. LOL. His job is an auditor. His lover is a criminal who commits financial related crimes. This should create a conflict between the two as he appears to be an up and up accountant. But nope. He might as well have been selling pink milk from a cart for all this matters.
Kim insisting that Kanmol get inside the tiger cage and his insistence that Baiboon go with him everywhere makes me thinks his goal is to have the tigers eat Kanmol so he can run off with Baiboon. Seriously, I'm surprised Kanmol hasn't gotten jealous of that little side relationship that's developing.
Why am I obsessed with Kim going back to work? I am trying to comprehend how he has missed so many days, and doesn’t…
He is a partner at an accounting firm that he inherited from his father. So basically, he's already the senior partner and can do what he wants. Everyone there works for him, not the other way around.
Phayoo (Storm) finally forced me to finally get off my lazy butt and go to Google Translate to look up คิมหันต์ (Khimhan). Which is “Summer”. So the couples are Summer Sun and Rain Storm. Gee. What are the chances? Anyway, it’s not an accident that one member of each pair has a foreign nickname and the other has a Thai nickname.
So Rain handed off his duties to Sun this episode. I get concerned in Thai dramas when a character acts like he’s going away. Especially someone who way back in ep 1 was discussed as the only possible heir to the vast fortune whose death will cause problems. Rain seems like he’s about to leave. I’ve felt that someone in that family is dead and not being talked about or about to die. Rain is acting like someone who is putting his affairs in order.
Rain, though, is also Mr. Walking Compassion Monk. He really doesn’t like Thai commitments to social hierarchies and will break them when he can. He frees his servant to follow his heart, even when he knows that puts Phayoo in the awkward position of disobeying his father. He finds a companion for the lonely Khim. He opts to let Sun haze him rather than the other way around. Yeah. He’s going to die, or become a monk.
If the point of that initiation was to get Sun to speak frankly, Rain needn’t have worried. Sun doesn’t have much of a filter.
Ugh, just when I was thinking that there’d be no new symbolic elements added, Phayoo goes and gets fascinated by Iguazu Falls. (Yay. More references to water) It’s way too random to be meaningless. The only thing I can think of here is that the falls are where the main couple is heading in the movie Happy Together (which is a disaster for them). The question is who gave that lamp to him, since I doubt they sell it at the Dollar General in Hua Hin.
So the apple tree doesn’t belong in Thailand and will never bear fruit. Khim fails at horticulture again. But its another reference for the need of someone to go away. Khim's idea that he can plant Sun in Thailand isn't enough when what he needs to do is leave to be with his mother.
They’ve really got to stop implying that Khim can hear things on the bottom of the pool.
