Apparently there's cameras in the alley focused on protecting laundry from perverts, but none in front of the police station. So in Bangkok, if you want to commit a crime don't do it in alley. Do it in front of a police station.

O.k. Since we're about 1/2 way through, here's some questions I hope get answered soon.
1) Was Nut actually ever in a relationship? If so, what happened? They keep saying that "First Love" is his life story. But it appears to be about two basketball players. Nut was never a basketball player. Nueng and Tathan were, though. Wondering if he got dumped by Tathan. Anyway, its been long enough. Just spell the past out for us soon. Having Nut remain pissed off by his high school experience week after week is a drag. Time to start filling in that hole he's dug for himself in his funk.
2) What did Priphirri mean when she said that she was going to try for a miracle. Did she do something that caused Tofu to come to life? As far as I know, Tofu and the talking household objects are the only supernatural things in this series. Seems unlikely that there's not more things out there. I think they're probably going to drag out Tofu's origin until near the end. But it would be nice to have a bit more of a hint.
3) How did Sib die? Was Nueng's death really an accident? Just how evil is Jan?

I understand that. My point was that she invested a lot of time in Tarn's love story that she wrote a web blog about it. If she knew that the the lover she was writing about was actually Nut, she would be trying to patch things up between the two. She's still not going to know it was Nut based on the picture.

Unfortunately, Nut is covering his face with the book. And if she knew who Nut was, she probably wouldn't be interested in him, but would be trying to get him back with Tathan.

Maybe Phrippri will end up with Mr. Right Slipper as her happily ever after. Even though I'd prefer that character be given the boot.

I think its both and more. The Song and Gem are a BL couple. Neung-Nut-Tathan (whatever happened then) was a BL couple. Nut-Tofu - well - its tough to say. They are two young men falling in love, but its a little different from your standard BL.

I think what sets this apart from other BLs is the adults have their own character arcs and storylines. Usually BL writers neuter the parents - they are dead, they have international businesses so are absent all the time - we may meet them, but then the story develops in its own envelope and the adults don't get involved again until late, in a coming out scene, where they pass judgement. Na has problems and Nut can't just pretend she's not there, as much as he wants to. And Nut's problems are very much tied into the choices that were made before he was born. He's a product of the family he was raised in. (So is Song and so is Gem). Doesn't mean this isn't a BL. Its just that I don't think I've seen a parent in so many episodes of a BL in a long time.

The other thing that makes this different from most other BLs is that Nut's story is really a second love story. Most BLs focus on first love - or at least first same sex love. There have been a few - like Book and Frame in MIR, or Tharn Type - where a past bad romance with another boy has emerged as an issue. But usually the lovers are over any ex lovers. Tofu needs to work against not one, but two past loves that Nut has had. That does make it feel more like a gay series, or at least a bit more grounded in reality, even though there's a talking teddy bear as a character.

They had better not forget about Mrs. Left Slipper. I don’t want her to be another casualty of this family’s sorry past love affairs. Nut could change. Tofu could become human. Song’s father could build a display case for his achievements. Tarn could wake up and finger the bad guys. Na and Saen could end up together. Cruella de Ville could evaporate. That old gay couple could drink a magic elixir and dance with each other again. But if Mrs Left Slipper never comes back, it’ll be a sad ending.

O.K. I'm through ep 6 and can't wait until I get to 7 tonight. But sheesh. 4.5 hours a weekend on one series is a lot to ask, even if its good.

So Nut is basically his father is what I've gathered so far. Its one of the things I've never really liked about this "uncommunicative boy becomes aware that he loves someone after he gets jealous, so isn't jealousy romantic" trope. Was Sib really demonstrating how much he loved Na through his tantrums? Nope.

I thought it was good that they included one of the instances where Nut hit Tofu in the montage of "Nut's memories of their special moments" together. My guess is that Nut probably would have skipped that part IRL. Would have remembered that "touching" scene were he was applying medicine to Tofu's mouth and we would have all gone, "awww" covering up memory that the reason Tofu needed medicine was because Nut lost his temper and punched him in the face.

I do not like Pripphri, but I might have liked her more if she stopped her crush on Nut after what she witnessed in his house. Through six episodes, Nut seems to lose his temper a lot and everyone still likes him just the same. Eventually you lose friends over behavior like that, even if its not directed at you. His mom kind of has to put up with it. Tofu is a bear so what does he know. Gen has known him long enough that he remembers him from before he got this way. But she's...well...love makes you dumb, sure, but its not such a strong emotion that it can't be easily broken. She basing the idea that he's kind on one encounter with him at work. Barely functioning adult. I would have liked it better if she just started avoiding Nut in the office after that.

My theory is that Na killed Sib, which is why she tries to block out that he ever existed.

But mixed in a coffee cup with your finest bottle of champagne. Because we're classy here.

I'm guessing that that is on the menu as "our own special artisanal house Thai mojito - $35". My guess is that its rum, lime, holy basil and Hale's syrup (the same stuff they use to make pink milk). LukChub says that they use kaphrao like its a larb. That's holy basil. When they correct him and say that westerners call it mint, I had to laugh. No we do not. We commonly use mint to make a mojito, sure. But those aren't the same herb. Since he's a good chef who can recreate dishes he's just tasted while blindfolded, I'm pretty sure he knows the difference between the two.

Anyway, I've never seen a mojito that's been strained and put into a glass like that. (Not sure what that glass is. Shaped like a martini glass but smaller. Its more like the kind of glass you'd put a cordial in). It should be in a high ball or preferably a Collins glass. I'm going to have a word with this bartender. Do not be charging me a cover of $50 to get into your club, sit at your VIP table, and serve me drinks prepared by some "bartender" whose job experience was "worked a keg party at a frat house."

Ok. The young man who went and danced with Lukchub looked familiar. Was he the swimmer in Thank God It’s Friday? The one who Por (pluggy) was flirting, who then pushed Por to the ground when Pkuggy wouldn’t date him?

Ugh. Someday I’d like some enterprising student filmmaker to do a documentary on Campus Freshy Moon Ambassador pageants in Thailand to let us see what they are like IRL. Be fun to find out if anyone ever joins them because they want to win. I think Tossara and SOTUS were the only ones that contestants seemed enthusiastic about winning, and that was only because they had their sights on a guy. Tough to get excited about this pageant when the characters don’t seem to care, Maybe the reason they shuffle them into a Freshy Boy Dorm room together in this series for no reason is sp they won’t quit and go play ultimate frisbee.

Other than that, fine. I hope there is some twist to this series. Something that would explain why this particular MOON story was picked over the other 200 novels about moons

So…we finally got to the big birthday party they’ve been talking about since ep 1. And it was a disaster. Ugh. So awkward for everyone. I was so glad the scene was over. So we could move on…to another very awkward birthday party. Sheesh. Nawee is never buying anyone so much as a card again.

Next week…please don’t tell me that there’s going to be an equally embarrassing wedding reception!!!

Anyway. I was confused about Nawaee’s family. I thought his mom and dad were married. I guess they weren’t. Unless children become illegitimate when their parents remarry.

For Tack’s motivation. He hasn’t gotten over high school yet. Coach called him out on that. The first time they met in the freshy game, he was taking it out on Mon for being on the team that always beat him. And Mon beat him. Even the benchwarmers on that team were better than him. And now that same kid is in the team. That’s how I read him.

I also thought the misery was drawn out a bit here. We saw how they reacted to the ending of the prior episode and by the end of this episode Mon is back on his feat again. I guess they could have done it in 15 minutes. Was laughing about the number of times I read in this comment section about how people hate time skips…well this is why time skips are ok. Jump ahead 2 months because heartbroken people don’t do much.

Episode 8
-glad they didn’t string it out with So. Glad he won’t die. But it’s probably been his dream to go to a music academy. Anyway, as soon as I found out I was both relieved and disappointed. Maybe I would have been more satisfied were he in more serious peril. Death is a bit more exciting. Well, it’s a Thai drama. He could always be run over by a car.
-Regardless of who he ends up with, Q needs to adopt some orphans. He just gives off “good, patient dad” vibes. I’d watch a movie where he found himself in charge of a group of brownies and cub scouts. It’s just fun to watch him react and then pull his thoughts together.
-This really is the “double shoulder tap” series.
-Saint’s behaviour confused me for a bit, especially day 2. But I figure what he was trying to accomplish by sleeping in the court and then leaving after the drink was to give Mon a taste of his own, uncommunicative medicine. Mon is actually a bit of a drama llama when he’s pouty.

Yeah. It is a romance, even if a very sad one so far. So its kind of hard to blame them for having the mother obsessed about her dead husband/failed first romance. Because its a romance, everything is going to point back to love in some way, though.

Pripha is a poorly conceived character all around. I think she's a good example of your test failure. While she's going to be involved in the Chaing Mai story (hopefully), all she does each episode is talk about Nut without any other goals. If she were to disappear, we wouldn't notice that she's gone.

That's fair, too. But I have a little more sympathy for him now. I don't think he's equipped to deal with his mother and his parents probably hid a lot of her issues from him. As someone who had to deal with one parent with a stroke and another with dementia, it was really hard to change roles and get them to admit that there were problems, while they kept slipping away, sometimes there. Sometimes not. Some people have more patience than others. Some caregivers go into complete denial as well and imagine miracle cures that'll just put everything back the way it was. He's coping about the best he can, which is not all that well. Yeah, he shouldn't have hit Tofu, who is actually even less equipped than he is to process what he's seeing.

Knowing where 1 set of behaviors starts and another ends is a bit challenging. Seems like she has schizophrenia, depression, but probably other issues as well. There's really been no one documenting her behavior except Nut and the furniture, which normally isn't included in discussions with doctors.
