Wowwww I didn't know there were so many appreciators/fans of the lakorn/soap opera/telenovela genre who also watched BL series 😭😭😭😭 Y'all have come to the right place. Welcome everyone!!!!!!

I love Parnkaew. She should just become a lesbian and divorce that useless husband of her. She can do so much better than him.
Maya and Akin shared past trauma, damn typical. But I can't figure out if she wants to help him or use him. Sometimes she feels sincere, sometimes it feels like she just wanna get information out of him, sometimes it feels like she's sexually and somewhat romantically attracted to him. Poor Indy should just give it up, he had no chance being friendzoned like that.
Dream coming to Bambi's house and reconciling with her reminded me of Sprite and Kwan in Hormones 😭
My immediate thoughts tooooo. I really hope they reconcile by the end of the series. Dream has been a good influence on Bambi and I can totally see Bambi learning to be less selfish because of what happened to Dream in this ep. Hope to see some form of happy ending for the girls 😭😭😭
This was definitely another banger episode. I love Dream's personal story and her characterisation. Although she's liberal democratic feminist, you can see that she just wants to live in a world where people can accept each other political differences rather than the series portraying her as some social justice warrior. You don't see her being depicted as being against her father's political ideals but rather that because their parents have different ones, her father did not fight against the system that supressed political freedom. She also has trust issues, fear of being backstabbed from her past traumas, hence she immediately rushing out of Bambi's house the moment she found out Bambi gave her identity to Diesel.
I'm glad that in this episode we finally see Diesel showing that he cares for Dream (oh my bad boy/good girl WinKwan 2.0) because I'll be a bit more delusional about that possible DieselDream endgame although it looks pretty much impossible =))))))))))
Pure is a bit reckless in this episode but I actually think he is the one character that should be allowed to be selfish. He's probably ready to break away from his ship with Namkang (I wonder how all the delulu sao y watching this series are feeling =)))))))) and I hope he does so he can finally pursue his one true passion which is theatre acting. Not that it will come without costs (friendship with Namkang, CP fans turning on him...) but I don't foresee him being the kind of character that will get an unfulfilling ending where he's miserable and stuck with his koojin business forever.
The portrayal of toxic masculinity incel communities is also fucking spot on. Like Taste is hitting all the notes with its social critiques and teenager portrayals and I'm really sorry that international fans have to wait so long to get subtitles.
Bambi finally admitting that she's a coward and that she's weak was so satisfying because I feel like they really built up the tension for the confrontation between Dream and Bambi. Like Dream said, Bambi had plenty chances to told her the truth but she didn't... because she's coward and selfish. In trying not to lose Dream, Bambi has lost her friend once again. I hope next episode will be a turning point for her and Diesel and we'll see how Dream getting fatally shot will change both of their characters.

"Carrying Everything Will Eventually Break You" The Burdened Perfectionist: Pure
An in-depth character analysis from the series #TASTEเด็กเจนแซ่บ #TASTE_EP5 by Anthony Buisseret
Before watching #TASTE_EP6 tonight, Pure stands out as another pivotal character. He’s driven by his dream of becoming a stage actor, while simultaneously fulfilling his role as a "shipper" partner for his friend, Namkang, who still needs to focus on his studies. He also makes sure to allocate time for his love life, so he can spend time with his girlfriend, Bambi. [Pure is] a skilled manager who, in reality, "tries to make everything perfect… but it’s not easy at all."
The moments hinting at Pure’s struggles, revealing his perfectionist nature and his relentless pursuit of excellence, appear in Episode 2. He strives to perform the love scene with Namkang perfectly, but he feels he hasn't truly connected with the role. He wants to reshoot the scene, but the production team decides to move on. He tries to request another take, but ultimately, everyone tells him it's fine, even though he still feels his performance was terrible and doesn't want to let it pass.
When Bambi asks him, "Are the viewers happy, but are you happy?" That's the perfect summary of Pure's true self—someone who constantly tries to manage the satisfaction of everyone around him, yet forgets his own happiness. Does he truly feel satisfied with what he's doing? He replies to Bambi, "My mom taught me that if you want to be happy, you have to make others happy first." This suggests that, due to his mother's teaching, he feels obligated to live his entire life this way. It's his "habit of carrying burdens."
Pure is a person who carries a massive load: his own dream of becoming a masterful stage actor, his friend Namkang's dream of supporting his family, and his relationship with Bambi, whom he wants to care for perfectly. Ultimately, the most exhausted person is himself, as he never truly asks his own heart, "Can I handle this?" "Am I okay?" Until, internally, he’s working himself so hard that he becomes drained and sick. He's someone who never allows his heart a moment to breathe.
As he tries to keep everything afloat and find a balance, his body signals that he can’t cope. This leads to problems with his work, and he’s forced to let go of the stage play he loves to comply with his agency’s demands. Simultaneously, based on this episode, it seems he may have to seriously reconsider whether he can continue his relationship with Bambi. His agency is pushing him to generate successful "shipping couple" buzz, but deep down, he feels incredibly resistant to continuing that narrative. It appears to be something he dislikes, though he doesn't explicitly say so. He’s doing it well purely out of duty.
A truly capable perfectionist who excels at time management would likely achieve a "work-life balance," allowing love, relationships, goals, dreams, and rest to coexist harmoniously. However, this doesn't mean everyone can handle the burden of making everything perfect and satisfying everyone simultaneously, because it's incredibly difficult.
In reality, we can always solve the problem of juggling too many things by "choosing and un-choosing." It’s about self-love through asserting our rights. But a crucial life skill that Pure, and all of us, must possess is "the courage to say no." If we can't carry on, we must choose our own path. Always remember: if we don’t choose our own lives, others will choose for us and ultimately dictate our existence. Pure's current state (and that of many others) is one where he has no life of his own, a condition known as "No Life syndrome."
However, Pure's inability to refuse anything or speak directly is his problem. He chooses to "endure" to keep everything on his shoulders. When Bambi asks, "Are you okay?", Pure chooses to lie, even though he's far from okay. This is precisely the way of living that will eventually shatter him, like a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.
We always know deep down whether we can cope or not. It's not that we are unaware. But we must have the courage to speak up about whether to continue or stop with certain things or situations. Pure is a good friend to Namkang, trying to carry his friend's life and future alongside his own. He is forgetting that no matter how much someone has helped us or how kind they have been, everyone must live their own life and be responsible for themselves, growing independently. No one can be someone else's "ship" partner forever. Pure should have his own path too, no matter how selfish it may seem. But let's not forget that Namkang is also very selfish, clinging to his friend indefinitely and expecting him to carry the "ship" burden, even though it shouldn't be forced or require such immense effort that he has to abandon everything else for the sole goal of being his "ship" partner.
We don't have to try to make everything perfect. We don't have to be a superhero carrying every burden. If today we acknowledge that we can't cope, that's perfectly fine. Find space to breathe, reflect, and come to terms with what you truly want in life, then pursue that. It’s absolutely okay if everything doesn’t turn out perfectly, and you have to make choices. If you must choose, choose what satisfies you. It’s alright if others are sometimes disappointed, as long as you're not disappointed in yourself.
Someone is like a 'thin thread'; just a slight tug... and they could break at any moment. Always take good care of your mental health and respect yourself. #TootsyReview
Defining Selfishness Character Perspective to Real Life: From the series #TASTEเด็กเจนแซ่บ #TASTE_EP5 by #phuwintang #Mabelz_PiXXiE
Before watching #TASTE_EP6 tonight, first and foremost, I must commend the performances of all eight young actors. They were excellently cast, performing with incredible detail and authenticity. They truly embodied their characters, immersing themselves so seamlessly that we fully believe their portrayals. Their gazes, voices, gestures, and communication felt so genuine, as if they weren't acting at all.
In EP5, the character Bambi has come a long way, evolving into the clearest version of herself. We see a driven 11th-grade girl who yearns to establish her identity, to be important, to have a good image, and to achieve success to the highest possible degree, earning admiration. This is where I praise her positive attributes. Even when she was severely criticized and shaken by the fashion industry's "witch," Khun Duangtawan, in EP3, she managed to regain her footing and confront the very person who had lashed out at her with the harshest words. Yet, she successfully approached the one who opened the door for her into the fashion world. She got a second chance, which speaks volumes about her talent and her relentless effort. Her passion to win deserves a thumbs-up; she’s truly a good example in that regard.
However, all that Bambi sacrificed to reach that point in her life, after having followed her journey through five episodes, makes us realize just how terrible her actions have been. Therefore, we must "commend her effort, but condemn the selfishness she has shown towards those around her."
EP1: Bambi consumed drugs and alcohol until she was drunk, yet she chose to drive to win over her friends. She hit an elderly vendor's cart, sending his goods scattering and leaving the old man lying motionless on the ground, his fate unknown. Despite this, she continued to associate with the same group of friends who led her to that situation, completely disregarding the man's life. She showed almost no concern or remorse after the terrible incident.
EP2: She tricked her old friend "Mong" into thinking she liked him, hoping he would make music for her. Once she got the song, she ditched him without a word, simply disappearing because she only wanted to benefit from him.
EP3: She stole the fashion styling work that "Tokyo" had created for her and told Khun Duangtawan that she had mixed and matched the outfit herself, giving no credit to her friend. She willingly lied to others to stand in a position where she would be praised for her talent.
EP4: She interfered in a relationship by recommending "Diesel" to "treat" "Lookchan," without fully understanding their dynamic. Her hope was that this "good deed" would help her attend Khun Duangtawan's birthday party. She used Diesel as a bridge to reach Khun Duangtawan for a second time, according to her plan. However, Diesel had to face painful truths about his relationship, with Bambi being part of the story.
EP5: She sold out her friend, revealing that "Dream" was the one who leaked the club fight video. This exposed the truth that Diesel was not the good person his father had claimed in his press conference, and Dream's life was also troubled because of her actions.
Based on this, we can conclude that Bambi is a selfish person who misuses her ambition (which is her positive trait), harming those around her. She doesn't care about the methods, only the goal.
In terms of metaphysics, concerning means versus goals, Bambi is a "goals-oriented person." She only focuses on the objective, regardless of how terrible the methods may be. She doesn't care if others suffer or how their lives are affected, as long as she gets what she wants. This is the reality we see in selfish people, commonly found in society.
A flaw in selfish individuals is "low empathy." They don't care about others' feelings, nor do they put themselves in others' shoes to consider how they would feel or how their lives would be affected by their actions. If they cared enough, they wouldn't act that way. (Dream wouldn't be in trouble because of her, or Mong wouldn't have been tricked into thinking she liked him and had his song stolen, leading to his resentment to this day.)
If you don't want to be selfish, the simplest method is to "care more about others and be more considerate of those around you before making any decisions." This will prevent you from constantly being selfish towards others to achieve your own goals.
We cannot claim, "We do this for our own goals because we love ourselves." The terms "self-love" and "selfishness" are not the same. Self-love allows us to protect ourselves when others harm us, but selfishness causes us to harm others to protect our own goals. Don't misunderstand and use "self-love" as an excuse to hurt anyone.
Before the final episode, we will likely see what Bambi must do to gain "good taste" and a good image. However, how many more people will she harm in the process? We'll have to see the consequences of her actions in the remaining three episodes.
Nevertheless, adolescence is a journey of learning, and those lessons always come at a high price. When one chooses selfishness and sacrifices everything to get what they want, the consequences of their actions will certainly return to them. I hope it provides the best possible lesson, fostering significant growth, so that someone learns that "selfishness doesn't always lead to a successful life, but it can also lead to the most painful life."
I'm kinda regretful that Diesel's storyline kinda have to bleed into the first half of the episode so we weren't able to go that indepth into PureNamkang's storyline but I think they showed enough for us to understand the tight spot that Pure is in and the trade-off he's made in order to get people to watch/consume the art that he's passionate about. All of those tweets reflecting BL couples, fan service, hate towards real life partner of one half of a BL couple, that affecting the work of the koojin themselves 😮💨 This episode ate so much with that. And yet I just know delusional shippers will be watching this and still not take away anything from this 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
I'm glad that through this episode we see a little glimmer of hope in Bambi, that she isn't just a girl seeking superficial fame anymore but she has a set goal and took her time to do research in order to become a fashionista.
Dream/Diesel remain such a beautiful good girl/bad boy dynamic because tell me why I'm still delusionally rooting for their happy ending after their friendship probably crashed and burned in this episode 😭😭😭😭😫😫😫😫😫 I know it isn't realistic but this is like the one case where I want Dream to keep on being a 'i can fix him' girl with Diesel. The chemistry that they have together even if we're just getting them through calls 😔✊
