Yesss...so excited. I'm kind of glad they kept it under wraps and announced it just before airing. I hate the long endless waiting for dramas to air.

I think it's airing on 18th April so most likely it's already finished filming a long time ago. Didn't even know this project was back on....when did they even start filming?
I'm excited to see this....I liked this book more than Manner of death.

So apparently they had enough time to waste filming characters deciding which tonkatsu to order for dinner but not enough to show a proper ending.
Anybody who can understand what the creators were trying to tell us in this episode....please feel free to enlighten us.

Someone on YT said the Italian line at the start of trailer is also mistranslated. It should be "Those who lie/deceive deserve to die. Or liars deserve to die" So maybe "betrayers deserve death" would be a better choice, I think.
Let's hope the actual drama subs are more accurate. I miss JBL and lazysubber so much sometimes.

Its doing very well. Its no.2 on most streamed dramas list. It's also getting attention from k-ent. Some articles in newspapers with interviews and the actors recently shot for some magazine cover.

Actually, the first Prince is the most straightforward person amongst all of the emperors sons, including FX. His decision to stay on the border is mainly based on the fact that he does not want to shake things up politically. He does not want to join the battle for the throne against his brothers. He does not want to give his father a chance to pit him against his brothers like he has done with crown prince and 2nd prince. That's why of all his brothers FX likes the first prince a lot and is always sincere with him.
Let's hope they keep his character.

Yes he has a major role to play in the rest of the story. His first appearance into the story happens when Fan Xian is about to enter the capital gates after coming back from Northern Qi. As you know they ended first season before that. The ending scene that you saw in the drama does not happen. I feel they wanted it to end in a most shocking way possible. Hence, the crazy unnecessary scene.....which hopefully turns out to be Fan xians nightmare. I also have a few doubts that they might have changed or done away with the first Prince's character. First, because he's supposed to marry the princess of Northern Qi...the little emperor's sister. She was supposed to be escorted by Fan Xian back to southern Qing...But they never showed that character or mentioned her so none of the events happen. Only reason I'm holding out a small hope for them to not erase his character is based on fact that in the novel, First prince because of his mother, becomes one of the greatest supporters of Fan Xian later on in the story.

I put it on hold coz of crazy airing schedule...but I feel they will rush the ending. Theres a lot still left from the book. The capital comes under attack from enemies. If I remember correctly the emperor runs away and hides. People loose their morale to fight, thats when Jiulings brother comes out and stands at the top of the city walls as a stand in for the emperor and boosts their courage to fight. Then ZZ and his father come to save the day. Then theres the whole show down with the emperor and the Queen mother in the Palace. I can't see how all this will be shown in 4 episodes.

In the book, her sister helps her escape. But they get caught by LYQ, so JiuLing puts a sword on her neck and threatens to kill herself in front of him. LYQ then lets her go.

66 episodes?? The book is not even 200 chapters. I guess they are going to be showing us shaoShang's life from the childhood. Atleast 5-10 episodes (10 years) will be of her getting left behind and getting mistreated by her second Aunt and Grandmother, then getting sent to the village as a punishment and almost dying there just before her parents and brothers come back.
Hope they don't make it unnecessarily dog blood....as I'm liking the story so far.

Maybe October or November. This drama is most likely to air as it has no bl elements from what I know. Even the book has barely any...atleast until the chapter I read.

JunZiMeng...Gentlemen's League/Alliance. They changed the Chinese name to the English name of the drama. Chinese name was originally Zhang Gong An... Mysteries/Cases of Mr Zhang. This was done to Completely distance the drama from the book.

Its possible they changed it for the drama. I guess it was done to keep the first episode full of action...and packed with as much narrative as they could so that the second episode can begin normally. A lot of other things have been changed too. Like ZhuZan showed up way way too early. In the book he makes his first appearance when she was taking Fang ChengYu back to the Fang family after he recovered. The scene in the drama where he saved her life when she was falling off the cliff trying to get that rare flower...thats when we meet him first in the book(although he's in a scruffy disguise).

Yes, happy ending with ZhuZan...but not much romance...all the skinship scenes were more of Jiuling initiating them to tease ZhuZan. Thats why I liked their CP better than Ning YunZhao.....she was always so proper with him but with ZhuZan she let go of all her reserve and inhibitions and totally became a relaxed and carefree person.

She's his niece...and a princess, I think she could have seen him if she had requested to. There's no restriction about that, atleast I don't think so. In the drama they changed it a bit and showed Jiuling tries to kill the emperor on her wedding day but in the book it happened after a while. At the time of her father's death, Jiuling actually was not living in the palace and had no idea that her father was killed. She bought the official version...that he died from his long term illness. She got married to LYQ as decreed by the emperor without any questions or doubts. Because she had not lived in the palace for a long time she couldn't see all the manipulations that were happening. When her father's former maid told her the truth thats when she lost it. Until then she and Lu YunQi were living a happy married life. She was even starting to fall in love with him. Thats why she's disgusted by him now.

The emperor ordered it. This way his most trusted underling would keep watch on all three siblings to prevent any chance of them gathering support and rebel against him.

In the book, the reason she wanted to get medical knowledge is because her father had a chronic illness. She desperately wanted to find a cure for him. (In the book, her teacher and zhenzhens father are 2 different people). The doctor, her teacher was a nomad who wandered around gathering wild herbs and flowers and made medicine from them. He had helped Jiulings father's illness to kind of stabilize. Jiuling had also seen him cure Zhu Zans illness when he was a child. So she begged him to take her on as a disciple. She had to live in the mountains and wander around with her teacher since childhood. So yes she had spent most of her life studying medicine. Her father was murdered when she was still with the teacher.
The teacher also has an interesting back story. He's a soldier, a deserter from a different country who came to this country to search for a rare flower(the one he fell from the cliff and died while trying to pluck)that can cure a type of condition his daughter has...who he has left behind. I think they removed the whole story arc of Jiuling finding his family and curing his daughter.

Actually she's not a common doctor. She has made herself famous as a doctor who treats untreatable diseases. Book did a good job building her up as a extremely gifted 'Divine' doctor...while the drama just rushed it up so most people didn't get to see it. Imperial medical academy usually has some of the best doctors of the country. These imperial physicians are getting threatened by her so imagine how good her skills are.
