Am I the only one thinking that this show is unbelievably slow? The power of those immortal beings does not match the low intensity and the low progression of the story itself.
I practically don’t bother to follow the lines anymore. They are repetitive, boring, long, and unexciting. This show has become one of my unfortunate “white-noise background” shows. I simply let it play in the background while I am doing something else… Like putting an IKEA piece of furniture together.
What can I possibly say more about this series? Whether it is “Joy Of Life” season 1 or 2; it doesn't disappoint. - Unbelievable cast 👌 - Sublime writing 👌 - Amazing production 👌 - Incredible directing 👌
(If only they could release the seasons faster… That would be great. But I understand that great things come with patience… Same for “Nirvana In Fire”).
It's still a good drama even though the writer is still used to her old kdrama vibes that's why QOT is classic,…
If you can not differentiate an entertainer or an actor/actress’s acting skills from a scriptwriter or writer’s character writings… Then, there is absolutely nothing for us to discuss about. My point of view is based on the bigger picture… Not on the actor/actress’s fleeting popularity.

I was referring to her acting. Not just the writings behind her characters. For me, her stage performance, her presence, and most definitely her acting delivery have always been cold and désinvolte.
When a smart writer who writes smart characters doing dumb things just to move the plot along, does this mean…
This storyline was written by a ghostwriter or a pen pal. I refuse to believe the same writer who wrote pretty decent scripts before actually has written this.

Not even Kim Soo Hyun… With his big bragging name and out-of-this-world popularity could not save this drama. For me, it was boring, blasé and the plot twists were ludicrous. And I am not sure if it was the FL’s character that the actress was playing… I always find that actress acting cold and without any warmth in her delivery.
How did this K-drama reminiscent of the 90s with several ludicrous and blasé plot twists get an 8.9 rating? Not even for Kim Soo Hyun (With his convincing crying scenes)… I just can't give it a high rating.
Storyline - Interesting and entertaining Production value - Questionable Casting - Except for that BC character girl who ANNOYED the hell out of me from episodes 1 to 40 (The actress, Xing Fei, who played her character somehow forgot how to act in this costume production)… The rest of the cast was pretty decent.
Overall, the production could have used a bigger budget.
FYI: The ML had more chemistry and synergy with everyone else, except with the supposedly aka, “FL.” The real FL in this Xuanhuan production for me, was Ni Ting Er Xing (It would have been so great if it was a BL production). The ML even had some nice BL (innuendos) moments with Ni Ting Er Xing.
I’m at ep 25 and I still can’t see any chemistry between the ML and FL. The ML has more chemistry with Ah…
Exactly what I am thinking… Word for word… The supposedly “FL” is literally useless and annoying. The ML has more chemistry and synergy with everyone else… Even some nice BL (innuendos) moments with Ni Ting Er Xing.

Nonsense pretty much describes this entire production.
If she were a “Bankable star” as you put it… They would have cast her in a grand production already. Her entire repertoire is made of questionable productions mainly executed to target the younger generation. Of course, that type of fanbase is also beneficial to the bottom line.

The complete opposite for me. Ju Jing Yi’s mediocre acting skills are not convincing enough to make her so-called “role as a genius coroner/divine medicine woman” interesting enough to captivate my full interest. And her perpetual “Please, put the entire cosmetic industry on my face/With her non-stop excessive accoutrements” is ridiculously distracting. I would have enjoyed this drama a whole lot more if they had kept the initial actress with the scared face character.
For me, that is Allen’s best work.
Well done.
And that is a Priest’s novel for you.
Priest never disappointes.
The only thing that is missing for me is Yuan‘s background life story until he was rescued by Qian.
We simply can’t figure out the timeframe for any sequence.

Wow…
You are one heck of an amusing commenter.
One needs a decipherer to remotely understand your writing.
I apologize.
I can't stop laughing.
You are very amusing.

But as you said…
To each their own.
