Nonsense pretty much describes this entire production.
Interesting… I actually very much enjoyed watching “The Legend of Shen Li.” I thought it was a great production… A mature storyline… 2 well-adjusted main characters… No unnecessary misunderstandings… With 2 seasoned leading actor and actress. One of the best performances that I have seen from both of them.
It was simply excruciating trying to finish this drama.
To be clear… I only watched this drama for Liu Xue Yi. And to be crystal clear… Liu Xue Yi‘s acting skills were wasted in this drama. He is way above these types of infantile and average productions.
I still can not figure out how Ju Jing Yi keeps on getting those first leading female role characters. She must have one HELL OF AN AGENT…
Jang Hyuk utterly and undeniably stole the show. His character, counselor Park, was so profoundly well-written that I am having difficulty hating his character, even as a villain. He had layers upon layers… Even his layers had layers. One of the best-written villain characters that I have ever watched since the character of Yi Bang Won from “Empire of Lust” and “Six Flying Dragons.”
Kang Han Na was unapologetically superb in her role as Yoo Jung/Lady Park. Her character personified that old saying… “If she was a man, what a King she would have made…” She had all of the necessary and all of the sort-after attributes of a great King. Again, one of the best-written Queen’s characters that I have ever watched since the character of Queen Im Hwa Ryung from “Under the Queen's Umbrella.”
Lastly, Lee Joon… What can I say about his role as king, Lee Tae…? I do feel bad for the actor. Any actor placed in a scene next to Jang Hyuk, whether it is a first male lead role or a second male lead role, is going to look unfinished and less skilled. Then, we have the writing behind his character… While his 2 costars’ characters writings were profound, well-written, and full of layers, the writing behind his character felt weak, untrustworthy and incomplete. Throughout the entire 16 episodes, I really didn’t see any growth in his character. His character remained abundantly emotional, vengeful, and neurotic at times.
All and all… One of the best Sageuks that I have watched from Jang Hyuk and I am utterly impressed by Kang Han Na‘s acting prowess.
This drama basically took all the best royal political sageuks, stripped away any and all useless comic relief,…
Jang Hyuk is truly and undeniably on a caliber of his own. I always feel bad when he is playing a second male lead role. Whoever actor is playing the first male lead always ends up looking less proficient with their acting skills.
I do feel bad for the actor, Lee Joon, who is playing the king’s character. Not only the writing behind his character is weak and subpar… The antagonist/the villain’s character is played by none other than the great, Jang Hyuk. What chance can he possibly have to shine?
There is a second season? Why? Although I love watching Zhou Yi We. I had just loved his character in “Rebel Princess…” The only actual character that I enjoyed in that period drama… In “Judge Dee's Mystery,” I could only make it to episode 12. It is on indefinite pause as of now.
FYI: Some of that money should have been used to make a second season of “Ancient Detective.” It was not an expensive production… But man! That was well done. I have been waiting for a second season, ever since.
Hmmm🤨 Hmmm🤨 It better be a killer script. It has been 8 long years… We have been waiting.
Let's have some hope. “Taxi Driver” season 2 did very well… So, let’s keep some hope for “Signal” season 2 as well. Well, with the original cast, of course. If not… I am not watching it. Unless they want a disaster, like they did for the “Voice” series.
Well… That was a bloody mess. Somehow, this movie did not do well. Maybe it was too gory for most. But I still want a sequel. So, get to work people because I don’t mind the excessive gore.
I don’t understand why they placed Seo In-guk‘s name first on MDL. His character died halfway through the movie. He is not the first male lead. Obviously, Jang Dong Yoon is the first male lead
I came here because i couldn't remember if I've watched any other drama besides Chicago Typewriter so i wanted…
Check “Six Flying Dragons” Yoo Ah In was simply stunning… Phenomenal in it. It is the Korean counterpart masterpiece of the Chinese masterpiece “Nirvana in Fire.”

The fighting scenes were a joke.
I think I was expecting way too much from this…
This is subpar.
Darren Wang deserves better.
His character, counselor Park, was so profoundly well-written that I am having difficulty hating his character, even as a villain. He had layers upon layers… Even his layers had layers. I was waiting for the completion first before I started it.
Why?
Although I love watching Zhou Yi We.
I had just loved his character in “Rebel Princess…” The only actual character that I enjoyed in that period drama…
In “Judge Dee's Mystery,” I could only make it to episode 12.

You took the words out of my mouth.
Expensive cast.
Expensive sets.
Boring production.
Why not?
And also, that massive cliffhanger at the end of season 1 does need a continuation.
“Taxi Driver” season 2 did very well… So, let’s keep some hope for “Signal” season 2 as well.
Well, with the original cast, of course.

The war or invasion is historically factual.
I absolutely loved it too.
The OST (The 2 main songs) are also ones of my favorites.
However, the writing was just a joke.
I read that Dylan Sprouse learned Mandarin within 6 months.
That is impressive.
Yoo Ah In was simply stunning… Phenomenal in it.
It is the Korean counterpart masterpiece of the Chinese masterpiece “Nirvana in Fire.”
