Wow! I'm very confused by the rating here. I only just became aware of this drama so I came on here to see what it's about and was blown away by how much people were singing its praises but then this is a relatively low rating for a chinese drama on MDL.

LMAOOOOOOO!!!! "Hobosexual!" I've never heard that one before. I totally need to start using that badboy!

Also, I do tend to like messed up weird J-dramas from time to time. I just have my limits. LOL!

Oh I know that's not your intent and I'm not easily swayed by others' opinions, but you hit on the key points of the storyline and several of them are things that would have frustrated me more than entertain me so you saved me a lot of stress.

I watch a lot of dramas and don't like the feeling of having wasted even an hour on one that I could have avoided if someone had just broken it down in the comments the way you had and left it for me to decide for myself if it's something I'm interested in watching.

You really just broke it down and left it at that. There are many who will read your comments and jump all over this because it would be so appealing to them.

I realize not everyone feels that way about spoilers but I LOVE them for the most part. But that's because I look for the specifics behind people's complaints or praises and use that to determine if the drama may be one I'm interested in. Just because a ton of people bash a drama isn't enough for me to avoid it. I need to understand exactly what it is about the drama that consistently seems to be a complaint and, if that's something I know would stress me out or frustrate me, I move on to something else. It's the same for people singing praises for a drama. Comments like yours which explain WHY you feel a certain way about the drama are the most helpful.

I kinda sorta watched it and I get what you mean. "Poignantly beautiful" is dead on. Very different from a basic sad ending which I don't like. This is the kind I appreciate.

I get where you are coming from. For me, I think a large part of the problem was that the feel of this season was so different from that of the first that it completely threw me off. It was far from my expectations. The focus completely changed. You went from talking about the big developments to focusing on the little changes and I was unprepared for that. It truly felt like an extended and drawn out final episode for the first season.

I haven't read the manga but I hope they release more seasons like you suggest. To do right by the manga.

I can actually get what you mean.
The feel of it was so different from the first though that you had to have a totally different mindset going in, I feel like, to be able to appreciate this season properly. The first season I think was still too fresh in my mind.

I just checked and it doesn't look like it but I've got the premium subscription so maybe it just doesn't show that way for me. Sorry, I didn't even think about that.

Plus I know sometimes dramas aren't available in all regions on viki too.

They show later that it was the more that the guy wouldn't ever commit and would blow her off and treat her like backburner, which is why she suspected there was someone else but she never had confirmation. She would say those things and he wouldn't bother denying it though. He'd just act like she never said it, as we see in the beginning. Later, when she runs into him unexpectedly, she finally gets the confirmation she needs because he's wearing a wedding ring and didn't even remember to take it off. That's when she finally realizes she was the outside woman and felt badly because she didn't know she had been. [I feel like she should have tried harder to find out though. Just saying.]

You can also see from that interaction when she ran into him that he seemed to have an ability to coax her into going along with his wishes. She tells him no she doesn't want to go with him and he acts like she's not serious and blows off her words and continues to try to drag her along with him. It looked like if the other guy hadn't stepped in she would have very likely given in too. [Although, her realization that he was married, may have made her stand her ground. We don't know.]

She assumed he had another girlfriend because of the way he treated her. He was clearly noncommittal and she was guessing why. Comes out later that he was married all along and had been hiding it. She hadn't known for sure that there was someone else.

I didn't like the dynamic between her and that guy when they showed them run into each other with him wearing his ring. I like that she pointed it out later on and said she saw it and that's why she finally knew for sure he was a cheater and she felt bad about being a mistress. But I was particularly bothered by the way the guy kept ignoring her turning him down when she said she didn't want to go with him. Like, have a backbone and say no! She kept letting him pull her away anyway like she would have given in if the other guy hadn't stepped in. What the heck was that? It's like you could see how she used to be coaxed by him to do stuff.

As a woman I could tell immediately that it was an underwear thing. LOL!

I think it was dumb though. She's too old to be acting that way.

I feel like the comments section has completely ignored the 4th BL relationship in this. Minor, but still there, and they were cute!

It's cute! It wasn't anything fantastic but it was a cute drama. I liked it!

But. There's no fire or spark to the relationships. They're cute but dull. No spark to draw you into them. Not cutesy where you could fall in love with how sweet they are together. It's just so bland. Like watching couples go through the motions.

The drama isn't bad. It's not great. It's a bit bland. Not bad though. I don't need a whole lot of melodrama or anything to be satisfied but this is still a little too bland so far for me to want to watch it again or anything.

I'm only on ep 7. Let's see how I feel by the end.

I should have read your comment before I started. I'm still relatively early into it so it's not too late to stop but I wouldn't have started if I knew someone described the ending as "painful".
