And you think HJP's love is not genuine? HJP is the literal manifestation of the quote "If you really, truly,…
The letters are a big part of it.
The way he takes care of SDM when they are together. The little small things he does for her.
The extra mile he goes to teach her to be a CEO
The fact that he never forces himself on to her, nor forces his feelings on her.
The fact that, when he lies to her, he feels remorseful. And the fact that NDS lies for every small thing, while HJP does not. And when he does lie, he fesses up right away to SDM. This is a pretty big thing as well.
Also keep in mind, Noongil would not be where it is without HJP.
There are more I am sure of, but I would need to rewatch to find every single scene, and I don't plan to rewatch startup any time soon.
In the finale episode, I commend how the director ends the story. All of the casts find their place in the business…
Just because HJP is walking side by side with SDM and NDS and smiling, doesn't mean that all is forgiven. Don't forget HJP even smiles at Yong San in Ep. 15
In fact, what the show has shown us is that HJP is a consummate professional, which means, even if he bears ill feelings towards NDS, he is able to set it aside to do his job. Something NDS has not shown the capability to do.
Halmoni and HJP is a great story, and yet, they didn't show any signs of HJP and Halmoni having a happy ending. We don't see HJP visiting Halmoni, or find some new love line.
Everyone got their great ending, except for HJP. And that fact alone leaves a sour taste in people's mouth. They care less about the Jidal endgame, and more about the HJP happiness, which many felt he was robbed of in the ending.
Comparing the two male lead actors. If I were in Dalmi’s shoes, I would choose Dosan. Why? Because his love…
And you think HJP's love is not genuine? HJP is the literal manifestation of the quote "If you really, truly, love someone, you are willing to let them go", and that is what he did.
We don't really get the chance to see how amazing HJP's love for SDM is, because she does not give him a chance. And YET, even without any provocation, he still does amazing things for SDM.
I disagree, I think his feelings for SDM has always been there. Just like SDM fell in love with fake dosan due to him comforting her through the letters, HJP fell in love with her for comforting him with her letters. That parallel was shown in Ep. 16.
I wanted to give my impression of the first episode of Run On.
For more than half the episode, I did not get a good idea of what the story is about, or what it will be about. I think this may be because the episode runtime is only slightly over 1 hour. As soon as I feel, I am finally getting my bearings and understanding what is happening, we are being shuttled to a brand new story arc with brand new characters, who I have to decipher their importance to the plot and the Main Couple.
There is a saying that less is more, and I feel that Run On's first episode could have benefited from less unnecessary scenes of which there were plenty of. Like for example, the meeting of the ex-boyfriend of the FL was completely unnecessary. There have already been quite a few scenes that made me raise my hands, and go "What?". There is already quite a few leaps of logic I have to do to believe certain scenes.
I am currently watching Welcome to Waikiki 2, and in one of the episodes, they talk about how in Korea, there is a belief that if you meet a person three times, then you are fated to be together. I don't know if this is an actual Korean belief made for that show, but we see that belief seemingly be the central focus of the show of how the FL falls for the ML.
The pacing on the scenes felt rushed, as if the director wanted to rush in as much background information in that first episode, that I often felt lost on who is who, and which characters are which characters. The poor camera work in my opinion did not help this case, as they spent too much time focusing on actors, I'm assuming will only be there for that one scene. The use of slow motions, panning shots, and the early part slideshow, in my opinion left much to be desired.
I also have an issue, how they portray every single male character in the show, including the ML as kind of unlikeable. They portrayed every supporting character in the first episode as huge misogynists, to artificially makes the ML look like a good guy. But if such a ML were to be paired with regular guys, the ML would seem quite unlikeable in fact. I felt this was a weird direction for the writer to go, as the audience investment in the ML may feel artificial to some, as it did to me.
What I did enjoy though is the character of the FL. I really like the eccentricities of her character, even though I don't know much about her yet. Although she is suffering from some inconsistent writing in the first episode, you get a grasp of what her character is suppose to be, and it's fairly relatable. In fact, I felt tempted to fast forward every one else scene to just view the FL's story arc. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the ML, who for lack of a better word, I found quite weird. I could not understand what characterization the writer wanted for the ML.
All in all, I felt the first episode, even with it's 1 hour 6 minute run time, felt quite dragging, and boring. As far as pilot episodes go, this one did not grip me at all, and the end cliffhanger of the first episode, felt kind of weak.
In conclusion, after the first episode, I feel I need an interpreter to tell me what I just watched. I may give this show one more chance in Ep. 2, but if it faces the same problem as Ep. 1, I don't see myself continuing with this.
I've sworn to never again watch a drama while it's airing.
it's not just the drama, this comment section has been quite a good place to hang out in. I'm afraid comment section of other shows may not be as active or fun.
A lot of people saw it that way.

The show lends itself to be memed and made fun of, because of how many problems it had.
NDS has both parents, who are really supportive of him.
It wasn't too much trouble to write this, the thought just came to my head.
As with most things I write, I don't write them because it's my job, I write them because I enjoy writing them.
